He would've stayed with indie label Sub Pop. Not to mention he was known for calling MTV up and complaining they didn't play Nirvana's music vids enough. He showed up to awards shows and made music vids, if he didnt want fame he would've taken the Bikini Kill or Pearl Jam route. He didn't want commercialism and overexposure

I was born in '92, have hated my generation since it started sucking back in '98, found out about grunge in late 2004, all I've wanted to do since then was go to a Nirvana concert, but I didn't really know of the stuff before, so I had to find out it all got so famous when I was born to my parents generation, and that Kurt died, and it's not so famous anymore, and he married the woman I grew up hating, all so confusing. I will never be able to go to a Nirvana concert.
