  • Dude, the "Radiohead/Atom Heart Mother's middle section" ending made it even MORE epic! :D Congrats!

  • very nice, hoping i get mine soon.

  • great job !, in general do u need to use the footswitch of 2880 while recording

  • @TheCavidim you can get away with just pressing the record button with your toes, but i wouldn't rely on that way to get most accurate loops. footswitch is probably the best way to go to avoid any damage or undue pressure on it i think.

  • Very Nice Tones and Layering.

I want The 2880 so Bad..Very Creative Box Bt EHX. ;m Looking For The Best Price Now ??

All The Best, JohnC Michelson // : )

  • I still listen to this at least once a month for the past year.

Great work man and thanks for making HCFX a nicer place. :)

  • @sketchesdilhan aww.. cheers mate! :D

  • Pretty spot on recreation of their sound, I loved this Oceansize album

  • Wow, Hey can I use this track for a video on You tube?

  • @gaugedear sure. but it's a cover of 'Music For a Nurse' by Oceansize.. so might be worth going for the real thing :)

  • This reminds me of Explosions in the Sky. Brilliant.

  • Wow, you are a talented musician. This is truly beautiful.

  • Your sounds, techniques, and styles, are ringing very true with me. This is right on. Very pleasing vibrations and oscilations.

  • wtf is that green circle spinning thing?

  • @curtaineater My previous comment and its answer will explain =)

  • @curtaineater looks like a tuner

  • hey, I'm looking at buying one of these, but the one thing I can't find out that I really need to know is; are you able to save any of the loops you create? So like, does it have patches memory? Or is it just like create a loop then and there, just one, then delete and do something else? Or does it have track- saving abilities?

    Lovely piece by the way

    thanks

  • @JAMCEEEE cheers. it saves everything you record when you turn the power off. but if you select 'new loop' it'll erase it from the memory.. hope that helps?

  • @TheColdNorthWind ah alright, I read it's able to save stuff to a card, do you know if you can save more than one track to the card for playback like in the video?

    thanks again!

  • @JAMCEEEE I've been doing my homework on it, and I think I've found out what I need to know. It seems to be the case that if you want to store multiple tracks, you need a CF card per track for playback. Is that correct?

sorry to keep bothering you like this!

  • @TheColdNorthWind is there anyway to record multiple ones? Maybe through a flashdrive or usb? I love the quality of this looper, but I think that could be it's major downfall for me at least D:

  • @apollodesign you can switch the memory cards they're saved on. there's some good info from the manual:

    - The CF card can easily be removed when you record a loop, song or project that you do not want to overwrite immediately. You may then reinsert a new CF card and continue working. Please Note:Only one loop, song or project can be on a CF card at a time, even if it is only 1 second in length.

..and then it goes on to say what cards are suitable, how to format them (Windows PC only it seems)

  • Man, i came to this video looking for a demo on the 2880, and ended up wanting both that and a DL-4 D:

  • beautiful.

finally someone doing something musical with a looper. sounds like Sigur Rós.

  • What's the upper right pedal? Is it a tuner of some sort? Looks sweet =)

  • @JMRaider yeah, Korg DT-4. as accurate as a Pitchblack and half the price!

  • @TheColdNorthWind And how come the LED's dont show letters (C,D,E,...) but strange sci-fi 'I want to have them' looking symbols?

Or is this just me =p

  • @JMRaider i think maybe you should smoke a bit less :)

  • @TheColdNorthWind You might be right about that one...

But seriously, the symbol at 0:36 , what's that?

  • @JMRaider i think it's just B flat

  • @JMRaider yeah, Korg DT-4. as accurate as a pedal tuner, but no need for 9v/cables, and half the price!

  • so it just 4 track dubbing availiable? or limitless.

and can i store the track- i made- after power off?

and thanks for sharing this clip!:D

  • @gitarre80 you have 4 tracks, but limitless overdubbing on all of them. the whole recording is stored when you power off and available when you power it up again. you can't save multiple recordings, which is the only downside i suppose.

  • @TheColdNorthWind

    thx forur kindness.

i heard if i have extra CF card then can save multiplae track. right?

  • @gitarre80 i'm not sure.. i haven't looked into it but that would make sense. worth checking on EHX. com/forums..

  • @TheColdNorthWind do you know if this is the only pedal that loops in stereo? or are there more?

  • @TheColdNorthWind Do you have to STOP the pedal before adding a new layer, etc? It seems that this pedal doesn't quite work like a normal looper pedal, where you can do it all on the fly, real time? Or am I wrong?

  • very cool video.!! i love ur music.

how did u made the sound 2:44?

  • @gitarre80 that's reverse delay on the DL-4.. i didn't really practice anything for that so was hitting all sorts of wrong notes! :)

  • Was considering buying a Electro Harmonix 2880, this video convinced me. Thanks

  • Very cool. Please tell me what your signal path is. I see both inputs of the 2880 used there.

  • @thudmother - Guitar > DL-4 > RV-2 > 2880 > Amp, and i think the 2nd input had an electric piano plugged into it buti didn't use it.

  • @TheColdNorthWind Thanks! I just got a 2880 myself, and I'm trying to figure out a way to run my saxophone and theremin through it, take one of the stereo outputs from the 2880 through an analog filter, and then back into the 2880. It might work.... might not. Anyway, I like what you're doing here.

  • Is there a Mic input ( like the RC20XL ) or an XLR input on this?

    Thanks

  • @fakeplasticdreams - afraid not.

  • your little track has convinced my to buy one! very, nice, very natural... E***

  • FOALS SPANISH SAHARA

  • @HoaxYes - nice tune.

  • Great demo - Thanks! Looks like this will be my new looper. If you get the inclination, please post a recent tune! I really enjoyed this one.

  • Do you have to press play in order to stop recording? Or can you just tap recording again and it will start to loop?

  • @oxSBPxo once it's recording, you press play at the end of the loop and the loop will end and start playing back immediately. on the first loop i recorded here you can see i hit record at the end of the loop instead of play and it stopped dead. (a little embarrasing! haha )

  • @TheColdNorthWind thanks for the reply! Also, can you record more than one loop on one track or is it limited to one track-one loop?

  • @oxSBPxo You can keep recording and overdub as many times as you like on each I the tracks. I would say it's infinite, but there must be a storage limit at some point.. Never going to reach it though I don't think. The most I've recorded must have been close to 20+ overdubs on 3 tracks!

  • oceansize very nice :]

  • sounds like the reversal part on this sounds out of tune

  • have you looked into getting the footswitch for the 2880? i imagine it would be alot easier than what you have to do in this vid! great job by the way.

  • Whats the rotating light thingi in the back Richard

  • @PAINFOOL13 It's a flux capacitor.

    (Korg DT-4 tuner)

  • @TheColdNorthWind Cool I havent seen that one before ,I have the Korg PitchBlack tuner ,love it !

  • @TheColdNorthWind I have a cheap Qwik Tune tuner that I have had since I started playing. Do you like the DT-4? You seem to be in tune the whole time. :)

  • @andy92811 the DT-4 is cool yeah. as accurate as the Korg pedal tuners.. works great for quick tuning (has a built in mic) or you can plug into it aswell. has several tuning displays aswell.

  • Nice job mate !! I have one also w/ the pedal much eaiser to work with ! Great job love the tune calms me down. Im a Yank but was raised in Southampton as a lad. keep up the nice work PEACE Richard

  • @PAINFOOL13 Thanks!

  • @TheColdNorthWind I had a digitech jammn but this 2880 is the ONE !! what amp are you using ? I have a Bugera 333xl halfstack and a Bugera 6262 half stack I like to play in stereo. have a few stereo pedals GIGFX and TC Electronics that work well hope your winter is an mild one. I miss running through the commons and knocking chestnuts from the trees, I have pictures of me standing on one of the rocks at stonhendge I wont forget that. later ,be well never stop playing !!!

  • @PAINFOOL13 Err, thanks man! i'm using a Peavey Delta Blues 115. Hope your winters is an mild one too! cheers

  • Finally something that isn't blues wannabe. Oceansize rocks.

  • Very cool !

  • great work! you should have gotten the footswitch with it, it would have made it alot easier to hit record and stuff, but great work!

  • @TacooGrill i'm definitely planning on getting the extra footswitch now i've had a chance to test it out. cheers
