  • Not bad

  • how much are you looking for

  • @CaptainBlunts91 $450 OBO :)

  • Guys the down pipe is for sale!!!!!!

  • Who agrees that the older version of the WRX STi was better.

  • Yo all black looks sick!

  • that car would sound good with a tin can exhaust, WRX FTW!!

  • I have a 2009 WRX Wagon and it's my dream to get it to a level like this. If only I had the money : /. Killer ride

  • Sounds amazing...Im looking at buying a 2010 Subaru WRX 4 door 265hp and i want this sound...If you dont mind how much did it cost you and where did you get the parts from?

    Thanks :)

  • i want it on mine

  • Nice ride dude, sounds really good!

  • Sounds sick!! Check out mine!

  • sounds so smooth

  • Nice job with the video. SPT exhaust sounds amazing.

    Very tempting.

So SPT exhaust is equivalent to Cobb Turbo back exhaust for Stage 2 AccessPORT tune?

  • love the car. Just got my 09 wrx 5 door and Im trying to make it stage 2 as well. Its much quicker than anticipated

  • @CaptainBlunts91 congrats!!!

  • sounds great! not that annoying buzzing sound. i like the low sound on it

  • this thing is a beast!

  • shiiiit i know what im getting when i get back in the states!

  • install that flatfoot shifting brah

  • sounds really good. i like the fact that its not too loud, but still sounds mean.

  • how much whp did you gain with the tune + spt? please answer!!

  • @SINOWred dunno... probably earn like 40-50hp at the wheels with the right tune. good luck!

  • that is awsome man! i love the 2009 models. they are bad ass yet classy lookin gas well

  • im diggin that SPT exhaust sound, I may have to get one. Nice review.

  • @garyscoop glad you liked it! im sure you wont be disappointed.

  • getting one!

  • hi when u change gear the average rpm r? cuz i just bought a impreza 2.0R and before of that car i have a renault megane wich i made the gear change about 3750rpm to 4750rpm (5750rpm only for 5th to 6gear) but with the impreza almost all the time i have to change to 6000rpm to get a good speed and if i turn the A/C its so Fu... slow.... maybe the engine its defective

  • I noticed that 3 or 4 times, you put the clutch in while still holding down the gas, resulting in the engine reving up as you depress the clutch. I used to do this too on my 04 WRX. Wears down the clutch faster. Just be aware of it.

Car sound great! You are running an accessport right? Or are you getting the car tuned on a dyno?

  • Hot freakin car

  • I like it, not sure if i like the hatch or sedan better for that year or not haha, sounds beast though

  • that sounds nice as hell, doesnt sound like a gay ass fart can on a civic.

  • I'm not a big WRX enthusiast but I like the mods, sounds, and video. Nicely done!!!

  • @DoJo07man thanks!

  • what is faster, a stage 2 wrx or stage 2 sti, i heard that the wrx has better gearing

  • @sergsrt8 i would say the STI... but the WRX is pretty close.

  • @sergsrt8 definately WRX if its an 02-03 bug eye since its the lightest in weight.!!

  • @sergsrt8 definately WRX if its an 02-03 bug eye since its the lightest in weight.!!

  • 2 words, Flatfoot shifting

  • all the Cobb dps are catted... MPG is about the same. minus the fact you end up driving faster.

  • is the dp catted? And how did this affect your mpg

  • Props, Check out my WRX STI exhaust vids

  • Nice video, thanks for posting.

  • WRX owners... looking @ a 2011 WRX 5speed (would love a 6, but i was wondering what RPM's the motor cruises at, @ roughly 60mph or 100km's NICE WRX BTW!

  • Always liked a WRX/Sti aftermarket exhaust notes . Part of the reason I bought mine.

  • Hey man, excellent video. I'm putting together a thread of exhaust clips, added it if you're interested, pm me.

  • dang my sti had to put afr ratio on steering wheel

  • That sounds great, i also have a 2009 and was thinking of doing the basic modifactions like you except i was going with a nvidia downpipe. Anyone think i should go with the cobb instead?

  • niceee!!!

nobody thumbs downed this video.. hehehe

  • Oh wow, he said boxster motor! Dude, it is a boxer motor, nothing to do with a porsche... nice exhaust though!

  • @Tucker2682 you know that porsches and subarus BOTH have horizontally opposed engines right?

  • @blackmist27 Haha yeah dude I know, but actually not all of them have it, just as not all subaru's have a boxer motor, I was implying that the boxer motor has nothing to do with specificaly a porsche boxster... haha just saying I think you just said it wrong, no worries, still mad props on your ride and although Iv been a big evo fan Im considering a 2008 wrx for my next ride! Keep it fresh, not riced! lol

  • @Tucker2682 haha... thanks. btw, dont get an 08... get an 09 or later model. 265hp vs 224hp. sadly i dont have this car anymore... i have a 2010 STI now. and i am ok with that :)

  • @blackmist27 Not to mention the upgrades in suspension components!

  • @blackmist27 lol I think quite a few of us subbie owners would be "ok" with an upgrade to a 2010 STI

  • @blackmist27 and most general aviation airplanes. :-)

  • i agree with you that the new WRX is the best one yet. now they need to up the ante and give the WRX 300hp and the STI closer to 375.

  • @blackmist27 Agreed! Subaru needs to make an equivalent of the FQ models for the evo. But then though...I'll have to invest in some extra go-fast in my 06 STi so I don't get embarrassed by the new cars xD

  • lol i love how powershifting is now considered "shifting wrong". i had a lil integra that would sing like a mother when i gave it the beans like that. i would love to own a wrx one day. i personally like the new 2011 with the sti widebody :)

  • thanks! enjoy the car... its great!

  • nice vid man! i have the 2011 WRX black with those wheels , its awesome

  • very nice car but you're definitely shifting improperly. Stop over-reving when you shift. It sounds like you're going to drop a gear but instead you're going up. Odd...

  • @gtlvr82 hahahaha... dude i dont think you know anything about driving. i have been racing for 15+ years for NASA and are often in the top 10 in Miata spec series. not trying to shoot down your comment but i think i know what i am doing. i will say that in the end of the video i did not shift where i would have liked to but that has to do with the fact i thought there was a cop sitting on the side of the road up ahead. better safe than sorry.

  • @blackmist27 whatever dood...

  • @gtlvr82 do you have any idea what you are talking about, he never got close to even dangerous RPM's, much less dropping a gear, over revving would throw a rod or fry a piston seal before dropping a gear.

  • love this car, but i think u shifting it wrong...props though

  • @fxjerry my shifting is wrong? how so? when in the video do you determine that?

  • @blackmist27 They are talking about at 2:15 you are pushing the clutch in and not letting off the gas pedal, basicly you slip the clutch through every gear when you do that and probably gonna be putting a new clutch in soon, but hey I always say when something breaks that just means its time to upgrade to something more performance wise! haha

  • @blackmist27 Right, sorry for not getting back sooner, didnt check my messages in a while, i'm talking about 2:13, u disengaged the clutch while still revving the engine so ur basically shearing the clutch (more) a little bit at a time and then reengaging with the engines extra (wasted) momentum which will wear out engine mounts faster, in short, if u continue to do that you will need a new clutch soon and ur front and rear mounts will also need attention.

  • haha... that drive by sounded awesome...

  • Sounds like a V8 hahaha.

  • Ah man! It is so nice to hear a subaru that doesn't sound like someone decided to record themselves farting then afterwards attach it to the insideof their muffler. DAMN I want everything about this car.

  • @RazeElement thanks! ya i miss that sound... the STI doesnt sound as good.

  • @blackmist27

ah well, can't beat the better performance.

  • boxter

  • will the spt exhaust bolt on to any other downpipe besides the cobb? im confused on the diameter. ive heard 3in, ive heard 2.5. so im not sure what to believe

  • @zdeezy19 the SPT is thicker piping but i believe it bolts only to the stock diameter... meaning that it wont work with Invidia etc...

  • Haha i just found your video and we have nearly the exact same setup even down to the tint on the front windscreen. Only difference is I got the GPS touchscreen and SPT boost gauge.

  • @Sp33dyD3m0n Nice! i have a 2010 STI now... but loved the rex when i had it.

  • @blackmist27 I love my rex more than any car Ive owned, mainly because everyone under-estimates them because they aren't an STI, but a WRX still puts many cars to shame. Shit 2 weeks ago a flew past an M3, after I slowed he tried to catch up but when I saw him coming in my rear view I just bolted, he had no chance. How do you like your STI? After driving them at work all day I found I didnt want to pay that much extra for what boils down to a little over 50 crank ponies and a better tranny.

  • 1:26 "spt SOUND system" lol. nice vid though

  • WRX are better than sex

  • I wanna just keep playing this over and over just to listen to the boxer motor

  • How much did the stage 2 and catback cost altogether?

  • why would you rev it while it's still warming up????

  • @xAbre1200 ya that wasnt good. however i decided what the heck... normally i dont do that

  • @blackmist27 ok thank you

I just think it would be a hassle trying to take off the dp and go to another dealer

Like you said... Might as well not mention it unless they notice it!! As long as they know there's a SPT exhaust, they hopefully won't care if there's a dp too =)

  • @BMWDriverC101 true it is a hassle but worth it

  • This video was very helpful, sounds great and thank you for showing all different aspects like at idle not just revving like a mofo.. And your camera made it sound clear as well. Enjoy your subie, as I know I love mine!

  • @LinguraDeLemn93 my pleasure, hope it helps!

  • Does that just bolt on

  • another question

is this ok for the car? because i'm pretty sure that the cobb stage 2 access port requires a turbo back exhaust or is it ok with catback because of the cobb downpipe... also, was the downpipe relatively easy to install? just wondering because it sounds great

260-270 whp, awd, manual, and the fact that it's a subie? what can be better? =)

  • @BMWDriverC101 you are 100% right... you NEED a turbo back exhaust in order to run stage 2. i had the downpipe and SPT catback on here. that IS Turbo back!

  • @blackmist27 oh wow... lol thanks so much... ONE LAST QUESTION

does subaru still service your car with these mods? like in other words did they void your warranty?

i know that the COBB AP can be uninstalled or returned to factory settings for dealer trips

  • @BMWDriverC101 it depends on the dealer. the DP is what they might contest. but i figure, might as well not mention it unless they bring it up. if they do, just fight them on it. if they wont work on the car under warranty then take off the dp and swap in the OEM. then go to a different dealer .

  • @BMWDriverC101 so you know, your not free and clear just cause you reinstalled the stock down pipe. if a dealership really wants to fuck you over and deny warranty repairs... that cobb reflash is a definite red flag. If you have the stock DP reinstalled, most likely their not going to deliberately check for that. But if they suspect it and want to look for it... there is no way to hide that reflashing. techs can find a log of the times its been reflashed and theres no way around it.

  • @suprattkk sorry mate but the only reason most you yanks want large cars is your all fat asses who are the size of houses LMAO :-)

if you all stopped eating so much fast food you would fit into normal size cars

  • how much horsepower is your car making with these upgrades?

  • @BMWDriverC101 this set up probably was about 260-270hp at the wheels.

  • I hate that my b/f keeps 1up me all the time. Hes getting the down pipe this week. (he is stage 1 COBB 07 STI Limited). I'm only 09 WRX stage 1 COBB

Sounds great man, love the drive by sound!

  • @subiequeen thanks!

  • I've been looking into getting a wrx but I hear that the paint on the Subaru's suck. Is this true?

  • @littleAZN248 black wasnt particularly good... however i dont think its any worse than a honda or toyota. white is great tho!

  • @blackmist27 Oh there's no doubt I'm definitely gonna get it in white. Love the wide body on the new ones.

  • nice car... i can get a good deal on a 09 WRX but its an auto which is a shame.

  • @Jazzybreaks auto? that sucks

  • Comment removed

  • @Jazzybreaks funny! You were looking at either a 08 WRX or you were looking at a 2009 GT which has the hp of the 08 wrx (224) while the 09 WRX has 265 stock. :)

A girl that knows her subies.

  • @Jazzybreaks uhhh... pretty sure they didn't make an auto for the 09 wrx. You sure it wasn't an impreza gt you were looking at?

  • unusual as most yanks dont know shit about Japaneese cars your more into your big ass yank tank heaps that are slow and heavy.

The RS focus will still give this a run for its money though same with the Evo plus its got adjustable diff 3 settings

  • @M0rph4eus haha the focus rs is way slower. it will do 60 in 6 seconds and I also think it costs around 40k which you can get a new vette for the same price...it's too expensive to bring to the US, no one wants a 40k focus. and you should try and sit in some larger cars, they are VERY COMFORTABLE, not everyone wants a sports car that will hit everything on the street. people want luxury

  • ive got a 2010 with the SPT and AP, and was thinking about getting the cobb down pipe, is there a big difference in sound? louder?

  • @WRBlueREX10 not louder... if anything quieter. more flow...

  • @blackmist27 downpipes make the exhaust louder. Always

  • @vdubjetta02 negative... my STI is MUCH quieter with the down pipe... sorry but even when i removed the dp from this car, it did get quieter even with the SPT catback.

  • ive got a 2010 with the SPT and AP, and was thinking about getting the cobb down pipe, is there a big difference in sound? louder?

  • Haha nice! Foster City and the San Mateo Bridge...

I'm retrieving my 2010 Impreza GT (yes, the former slushbox 2008 WRX) with SPT exhaust + STI springs newly added tomorrow. I've been somewhere between excited and nervous, but your WRX sounds great (and not the least bit "slammed-Civic-with-weed-whacker-fartcan-exhaust," gratefully).

I've read the WRX gets a noticeable power boost from the SPT exhaust. Hoping I'll get some extra kick too. The slushbox needs it. Could you feel the difference?

  • @nightVzn you will not regret it ;) just make sure to check with your AP that the boost levels are where they should be. call COBB if you have any issues. they are great!

  • iLife and iWork ?

  • Comment removed

  • nice car, any wheels yet??

  • how do you like the cobb setup? Just bought a '10 and what thinking about getting this exact setup. Any issues? How was the install, any issues when you go to the dealer?

  • @siccsoul916 no issues... however the downpipe might be an issue if you ever have to go back to the dealer for warranty work on the turbo or motor. other than that you are fine. they never complain about oil changes, etc... tho i will say that even if you had an issue that needed warranty work, for $150 get the stock pipe put back on and reflash to OEM. boom done and done. just cost you the labor. well worth it IMO

  • @blackmist27 THX!

  • @blackmist27 hey just got a 2011 hatch. just wondering what exactly you installed in the car and how much. thanks.

  • i just bought my wrx 2009 i'm in love XD

  • @emixam757 congrats! you will love it. i always feel like these cars can handle anything that mother nature throws at us... great car

  • Great video. Very good job with describing the exhaust and selling me on the cat back. It will be an SPT on equal length headers and on a legacy gt so sound a little different but I like that it's quiet. Great post

  • @Peebs1022 thank you!

  • how much did that cost you

  • @MrCrazyhorsepower search in the comments. believe we have covered that already.

  • one question i want to buy a subaru but i have the choise a 06 sti(80 000km ) or a 08 wrx (30 000 km) ?

  • @emixam757 if you are NOT planning on doing any mods, but the STI. if you are planning on doing the RIGHT upgrades get the WRX. reason why is the 08 WRX is slow. it has less hp than the 09. you CAN make it fast but requires a bigger intercooler, turbo, injectors, etc. once you do that though, now you have a lower mileage car with more power than the STI. however, i would just find a lower mileage STI and save yourself the trouble of modding to that extent. just my opinion... best of luck!

  • @blackmist27 thx man

  • will the aftermark parts from the impreza wrx will they fit the regular impreza

  • @01imprezawrx not sure if the piping on the exhaust would match up. but i would call a dealship parts department to find out.

  • @blackmist27 What about the coldair intake and loweringsprings will they work on my impreza

  • @01imprezawrx yes, those should work.

  • @01imprezawrx

    yep

  • Nice car man, I like those little guys. Personally I'm a VW fan but I've always had a soft spot for Subi's lol.

  • @pkasimov they are fun cars... everyone has a preference... i am starting to like VWs too.

  • Nice corolla

  • boxter..i know u pointed it out in the video..but i laughed when u said that i was like..."does he realize what he said?!" lol

  • @Bapesta916 ya... it is funny and i know better. just came out. i could have just edited it or reshot it but i really didnt care and still dont. i laugh too though.

  • @blackmist27 Are you trading it when the Sti version comes out? Sick car, I test drove one and wanted it...still do!

  • @Bapesta916 this car is already gone. traded it for a 2010 STI. but yes i want the new one too

  • @blackmist27 I thought the 2010 sti only came in hatchback, and the 2011 sti came in sedan..or did they release it already?

  • @Bapesta916 2010 STI only hatch... 2011s come in either hatch or sedan

  • @blackmist27 How's the hatch growing on ya? I can't stand how hatches look lol

  • cobb does the same thing. :). SPT dont get enough hp to to be honest.

i still love my turbo xs rfl catless. TOO loud but sexy in an annoying way

  • Your average is 20.4mpg... your not driving it hard enough. lol

  • @351Cpowered My rex reads 17.1mpg... Lol! I have tried to get it pass 20mpg and the damn thing wont move..

  • @JAYFROMHARLEMl, My friend has a '10 WRX, Stock, and his is at about 21mpg on a calm day. One time out we got it down to 6mpg!

  • i want it louder!!!! ahaha sounds great tho

  • @Dfrogman its actually pretty loud in person... hahaha

  • at what rpm does the turbo kicks in with the wrx or sti

  • @spforsupergringo1980 with a tune (even off he shelf) you should see boost right around 3k rpm. on hte WRX it will max at somewhere between 4-4.5k rpm... on my STI boost comes in at abour 3300rpm and max is about 4700.

  • @spforsupergringo1980 around 4.5k

  • if it's not too personal, how much did you pay for this? nice car btw

  • @NewGameReleases not at all... down pipe =$600, catback SPT exhaust $800, Cobb AP= $700. all not installed.

  • The 08 Subaru's lost there edge with the performance.

  • Yeah and the best part is Subaru WRX's are always usually cheap money for the car.

  • Yeah Ive been dreaming of this car for awhile and I hope when I'm driving it does not become ugly and weak like other cars now.

  • @NewJerseyDevil15 im sure these cars will continue to get better looking... i mean, subaru doesnt want to have another catastrophe like they did when they brought out the 08s. the equation is simple:

great car people will buy = looks cool + performance

  • Hahaha....."boxter" sounds like we have a subie newbie. lol

  • @impreza22bbs no... not a subie noob. im on my 4th subaru. just a simple mistake. btw, this topic was pretty much beaten to death like a dead horse in prior comments.

  • Nice Car. I want The Subaru WRX for my first car.

  • @NewJerseyDevil15 thanks... yes this would be a great first car. safe, fast, fun and practical

  • Excellent sound, good review, keep it up :)

  • @Jerubei thanks... stay tuned for my STI review next.
