  • I have a severly autistic cousin and I cant imagine someone wanting to put there hands on him

  • Paddling? Is this the 1800s? Heck no. We've advanced so much in society that we don't need to pressure kids with violence and superiority in adults. Paddling shouldn't be allowed.

  • @MatthewandMadison Yeah, it still goes on. :( Sadly.

  • Paddling in school is wrong I've never understood It.

  • this sucks i will never hit any kids i saw a picture of your son he seem like a very nice boy so sorry this happened to your son.

  • I didn't even know paddling was allowed in any school. That's something that should only happen at home if that's the way a parent chooses to discipline their child. I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that. That really sucks.

  • u r right he is teaching kids wrong...he did not say ur that mum wow wat a dick..cute photos..im srry ur kid has been bullied n i hate that the principal sounds like he doesnt care wat happens to him in the bus..nothing happened to the other kid, omg that is soooo stupid, y did he get any paddling then, seriouly wtf, so i guess defending urself is wrong, what is wrong w/ this world...take care jaime! hope u n ur fam have a fantastic week! :)

  • I don't know what grade your son is in, but alot of people at my school chew tobacco and spit all over the hallways. So He might of gotten it from that.

  • Your asshole of a principal should watch the Buffy the Vampire Slayer "The Pack." He might think twice the next time he intimidates a child. The sad thing about it is, your kids shouldn't have to put up with the things they're putting up with at school, but the educational system is broken and everyone in power thinks more testing will help. And that kid who got 5 days of in-school suspension? What a joke. At most schools, ISS = nap time.

  • This is seriously fucked up. It should always be up to the parent as to whether a child is physically punished. It should be illegal in schools all over. Glad you had a good day with the kiddo. Maybe you can bring it to the school board? Not sure where that might get you. *HUGS*

  • i dont have kids but the thought of paddling is just so barbaric. also sad that there are schools that still do this.

  • JASaare; That's a good point.

  • JASaare; I have Asperger's Syndrome, and I didn't have a good time in School. Smacking or caning is actually illegal in Schools in the UK.....but I don't know how I feel about parents disciplining their own children.....

  • @eibon81 I know school is tough for Aspergers children. I'm sorry school wasn't a good experience for you. I personally don't hit my children. I don't think parents have to go that far to punish/teach their children. I just didn't want the paddling vlog to turn into a spanking/non-spanking one. But I do not hit my kiddos. :)

  • @JASaare

At least he did not get hit in the legs. The stupid truck driver I hope he gets yipa Kiya Ticketed.

  • Wow. So the older boys (bullies) can do pretty much whatever they want with no repercussions, but your son gets in trouble for basically defending himself? That's just mind boggling how an adult who is in charge can't talk to the children and get his facts straight, then delegate the punishment as necessary. Damn what a bummer. Well at least you have some super cute pictures to remember this day

  • @dawnkatdead Pretty much. Isn't it horrible? That was the point I tried to make as well but he didn't get it (or if he did, he didn't tell me). I'm glad about the photos. They grow too fast! :)

  • ino this sounds really silly of me but what is paddling???? I don't get it????

  • @spyrothedragon590 Paddling is what is sounds like. An enormous wooden paddle (that can fit in your hand) is used to slap the buttocks of a child as a punishment. Usually it's 3 strikes. Hurts like hell. I was paddled in high school.

  • @JASaare oh thank u. yeah that was my guess. hope everything goes well.

  • My daughter who is 5 has autism, she wouldn't understand, plus with her sensory problems if you brush past her all hell breaks loose. She spits all the time when she's angry, I'm hoping as her understanding gets better so will her behavior.

  • @babyxxxxx552 Bless you and your daughter. I know how hard it can be. My son is the same, he wouldn't understand. I'm sure she'll get better (especially if the spitting is self stim). My son hand flaps and that's eased with age. :) Good luck!

  • It's the parents place to decide to use physical punishment, not the schools. If not for your videos I wouldn't realize that this still goes on in schools in this country. I was in school from 95-08 and paddling was unheard of (in Indiana). The fact that your child is special needs makes it even more unbelievable, the ignorance is astounding!

  • @JTOwens89 It's pretty bad. When I saw the research done and that special needs were the highest majority paddled in my state I was stunned. Picking on those who can't defend themselves is wrong, and I think if you don't talk to a child and choose to hit them it's the same thing.

  • I didn't realize your child had disabilities - bless him and i would pull him out off school too. so upsetting :(

  • @MrSheltonTV I do, but he's doing very well! He's a great kid. This is actually his first year (with an aid) mainstreamed in a public school. That's why I was taken back when the principal wanted to paddle him.

  • I love, love, love the red colour of your hair! Oh, and you really do look great with short hair. You look nice with long hair too, but I think I prefer short.

I totally understand you not being unpleasant. If I were you, I would be outrageously angry. In Norwegian we have a saying "vold avler vold" (violence begets violence). I truly and utterly believe that.

    Big hugs!

  • @hiddeninabook Hey Elin! :) Hugs back. That's a great saying. More people should know it. And I was unpleasant but I became so angry when he acted as if I was making a big deal out of nothing.

  • Bullying is only getting worse not only in school but also via phone and social networks, I hope things get better for your kid, good luck with that Jaime! <3

  • @jmsflyXdvd Thank you! And yes, bullying is getting worse. That's another thing that makes me scared for my kids. Meanness is just plain wrong. :)

  • Are the politicians and people of authority in the southern states aware that its 2012 and not 1912 ? Glad we dont have this kind of stuff in the UK

  • @louiscfc93 I'm glad they don't have it in the UK as well. It's bad enough here. :)

  • I actually thought corporal punishment had been banned nationwide. Your principal sounds like a typical bureaucrat. I also think he might be a bit touched if he really didn't remember you.

  • @NelsonStJames I was surprised he didn't remember me. My hair color was different, but it's still odd. The principal, in my opinion, also had a bit of a God complex. It was as if we were talking different languages.

  • i have special needs and im proud of you for standing up with kids like us well im 21 so im not a kid but i think like one you should stand up for what you believe in

  • @COKACOLAGIRL59 Thank you. I love my children. I wouldn't let anyone hurt them. I hope you're doing well with your special needs and continue to thrive. :) It can be done with the proper support. I can't thank the teachers, etc who have made my son's life so much better!

  • @JASaare thank you for yor enouragement more people need to be like you :)

  • If you need the details message me I will be more than happy to assist you as I am not for marshal law like states. And you do live in one. Also the first action to take I will help you if you need this help is to make sure that a lawyer from ppl writes the board of education and I promise you, they will help you... In fact I can take this further if you like I will post this as I do have a relationship with what justice is suppose to be. Please message this is abusive= whistle blower act.

  • Ja this is a violation of constitutional law, what is of special needs by the ADA is considered a disability. ADA stands for Americans under disability Act.. Your state legislators know this in fact. Here if you can afford about 26 bucks a month a law office that is very aggressive manner will write incredible letters sent directly to senate member congress members and so on we have a constitution as long as we have this.. Marshal law cannot challenge you nor your son who is being abused.

  • @HeavenlyRealms0910 Thank you for this information. I'm currently waiting for the Autism Society in my area to call back as well. I'm going to see what they say. I'm not certain exactly what to do yet, although I'm sending my husband in next time. I hate to say this but perhaps if he goes the principal will take the matter seriously.

  • Australian schools outlawed the "cane" in the 1970's ... it is a very old fashioned thing to do, so hopefully schools around there will realise its not the right answer. Hang in there mate!

  • @SpannersGerm669 Hey Adam. I wish they'd do the same here. Sending you hugs! Hope you're doing well! :)

  • That's terrible. I had a principal like this in elementary school but she didn't paddle. She made kids call their parents and cry on the phone or verbally abuse them. Thankfully she isn't a principal anymore. I hope your son is alright.

  • @NewWaveFan1 That's horrible too. I know some children are difficult, but there are other (better) ways to punish them in my opinion. And thank you! My son is okay. I took him with me, got him new shoes, and he had a great day. :)

  • I came across your video when searching for information for an essay. You should contact Paula Flowe, perhaps Paula could address the school board for you.My phone number is 1-423-465-8374.Feel free to contact me if you need other options or ideas. My name is Rodney Allen,I work close with the media.Maybe your local media should get involved!

  • @ChristianCountryCafe Thank you so much for this information, Rodney. I'm waiting for a call from the Autism Society in my area. I've jotted everything (in the event you don't want it listed in comments). I appreciate the help!

  • Maybe your school is run by some S&M people. I never heard of a school that is so easy to beat kids like this. That is so ridiculous a punishment just for spitting! What the hell happens to the kids if they bring a gun, a public hanging?

  • @underpathunderpath Geez, I wonder that too. And bullying is supposed to be punished as well. I don't think they should paddle bullies, but talking to them wouldn't hurt!

  • i cannot imagine hitting a child. i just think its horrible. luckilly its not allowed in canada or my ass would be beat all day by that thing ;) i think tho children see children do so maybe theyll end up hitting their kids because of what they were taught when they were younger, idk just my view

  • @lukes740 Hey Luke! Me either. I talk to my kiddos. I don't hit them. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Hope you're doing okay! :)

  • That is really too bad some schools have the power to do that to children, it is wrong and should be banned in all states!!

  • @BradyReviewz I totally agree. It seems outdated. I don't understand it at all. Thanks for the comment!

  • i think that principal was touched as a little kid, causing him to hate all kids that he sees with kind, loving parents and work out all his past abuse on them

  • @fwwaller Possibly. I do wonder. :)

  • How awful! Where are we, in the Goddamn Middle East? I can't believe corporal punishment is still allowed in schools in this age and age, especially in this country, and double especially when it comes to a special needs a child. I would say to that principal, "You hit my kid, I hit you. Period." Then again, I am almost six foot, two hundred pounds, and a guy.

  • @benway20 I'm the same about my children. I don't see the purpose in hitting them. Hope you're doing well. :)

  • here in Sweden they even legally banned paddling and other forms of physical punishments towards children at home, not allowed in school, and not allowed in the home either, it helped alot, this is actually the way it is in many European countries

  • @vaultkeeper2 I think that would be the way to go. If you talk to children (early on and continue) violence isn't necessary. At least that's my experience. Thanks for commenting. :)

  • When I was in elementary school we had to make our own paddles in our little shop class. Mine hurt like hell cause i've always believed in craftsmenship. You can send out a call for youtubers to come paddle the shit out of that principal I still have mine:)

  • @bearchay889 Craftsmanship is a good thing. :) Thanks for the offer. I'm keeping that in mind lol.

  • Hey Jaime! First, I am sorry your son is going through bullying. I wish more schools would pay more attention to the bullying sometimes.

I don't get why schools think the best solution first is hitting or paddling. I agree, principals and teachers need to talk to the students or children first. Paddling or hitting really doesn't solve anything. Talking is better. I am so sorry you are having a downer day,but I hope you have a better day tommorow.

  • @Rhine1988 Thanks, Justin. I really appreciate that. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. :)
