I COMPLETELY agree. patricia petibon is AMAZING. but i just found out that she's only in this production because someone else fell ill, so thank god for that!
Patricia Petibon's Soeur Constance is simply brilliant. No slight on Anne-Sophie Schmidt's well-sung Soeur Blanche but Petibon simply blazes so brightly, she's the star focus (vocally and in character). In a way, I found Constance more touching in the last scene for being the last to mount the scaffold, believing she'd die alone...until Blanche shows up.
These two scenes fit wonderful together. And choosen with fine taste. Thank you for posting this wonderful video ! I always get tears in my eyes while hearing this Dialoque des Carmélites.
Blanche had avoided(fled) the Terror, but she joins Constance at feet of the scaffold and dies with her among the other guillotined Carmelites (as well as Constance had anticipated him(it) in the moment 1 °)
Constance says: the life always seems to me so funny and the service of the Good God amuses me! But I would give my small life for our Reverend dying Mother.
When I saw you I understood that we die together the same day.
Blanche blames him(her) so in a good mood and envies him(her,it).
en espagnol si vous plait

Sublime vidéo. Patricia Petibon est extraordinaire de fraîcheur. Son chant primesautier sied à merveille au personnage. Merci pour ce bonheur rare.
