  • smokeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! scania the king of the truck

  • Ohh thanks ur not the first person who told me :) no wonder its such a banger and wont start right cranking for that long ur starter will break !!!

  • SCANIA, KING OF THE ROAD!

  • You shouldn't crank for more than 20 secs

  • @Brazzers50 You are so smart, and an owner of 10 Scanias right???

  • Which year of bulid was the truck ?

How cold it was in celcius(i´m from germany)

How long has the truck never started ? 4 month, 6 month

  • it has the saab hard start

  • Scania re malakes king of the road !!!

  • Comment removed

  • It will burn rubber while the truck is idling.

  • certainly a good way to keep your truck free of rust... just coat it in clag

  • Scania, that's SAAB, right?

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN Used to be. These days you can say it's Volkswagen.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN

Yep. The new 14 litres v8 product 3500 nm torque.Quite Impressive.

  • @Arska6 That is just plain wrong. Scania could never ever pull of to produce a reliable, sellable 14 litre engine that would put out 3500 nm. The new 16.4 litre 730 hp engine on the other hand is 3500 nm, but only on the top gears, and the engine is heavily restricted from a standstill because of the weak powertrain that is quite typical for a Scania to be honest... But who cares, everybody likes a V8, right?

  • @FlightPowder My mistake. You're right and I was wrong.

  • @FlightPowder They are restricted because the max speed in europe is 90 km/h to reduce emissions

  • @djdjerojr Sorry, but the only reason they limit torque in the lower gears is to preserve the drive train, it simply can't handle the power.

It's true though that the trucks are limited to 90 km/h to reduce emissions, but it also significantly improves safety. I never break the speed limit of 80 km/h (for trucks) here in Norway, even on the best of roads (horrible compared to other countries) and even if we have a limiter on 89 km/h, it's fast enough for 50 tonnes if you ask me...

  • @Arska6

    the R730 it's a 16.4 litres, the R620 it's a 15.6 litres

  • Is this using ether?

  • ha its a audie tdi slow diesel

  • my oldschool nissan patrol sounds same sometimes :D

  • do you think that your engine is ok? xD

    joke ^^

    i love that sound <3

  • @xKappesx I love that sound too. I wonder if it's for the same reasons.

  • Dam that thing must be cold as hell and must being running off old diesel. sounds good though.

  • That is why I have a Volvo engine instead

  • @msms300876

Yes then you don't have to start like this....cos you know it wont start.

  • @rubyvrum I disagree.

  • pete start way better

  • I LOVE COLD STARTS !!!

  • thats what my body feels like at 6am after a heavy night of drinking- one tough start

  • i just love that sound of cold rough starting

  • @bonzo9303204406 I know what you mean. :)

  • What's the compression ratio, and what power do you get out of the engine?

  • somebody accelerate the enginee!

  • Starter leads must be nice and warm...

  • :-)

    First 1, then 2 ......

  • glow plugs would be handy

  • this is killing the starter

  • its normal for them

  • it hurts to hear :( :( :(

  • @m4xrb dude cjill its a cold start

  • lol what if that smoke was from the starter

  • Definetly not a prius being turned over here--

    look at that carbon footprint!

  • What are talking about burnout....that sounds normal to me...

  • deci que tiene buenas baterias sino..... jajajaj

  • Theres nothing wrong with any part of the truck guys. Its a racing truck, surely they will have had team mechanics replace EVERYTHING that is needed.

  • Smokey...!

  • what they use ?

if they don't use spark plugs ?

  • @mrsexypizzaria Diesel engine use glowplugs. Similar in size etc to a sparkplug but they use electric current to heat up red hot so they can ignite the fuel. After starting, a diesel uses heat an compression to fire the fuel.

  • @mrsexypizzaria its a diesel. it runs on high compression. compresson makes heat and enough to ignite diesel fuel. gasoline engines have about 120 psi avarage and diesels have about 500 psi

  • @mrsexypizzaria diesel engines use glow plugs. that's why the "wait to start" is there

  • Дизелю нужен ремонт....

  • we used to race an ERF b seris with 900hp it had a 14 litre big cam cummins, that was a bitch to start too

  • lol tis is a realy cold start :P

    love scania :D

  • lol.

  • sounds sweet

  • lol The Fast and the Fartiest!

  • Smoky

  • now that is what u call a cold bitch i love scania trucks i wish i had one but there isn't any in the us that i know of

  • import ;)

  • paljonkos mahtaa olla tehoja tommosessa pelissä?

  • nice

  • I tink the truck is now a litle bit f*cked up

  • @strangerberry

I guess it's pretty much ok. we had much worse cold start ups this winter. at -25 C it takes about 5 hrs for truck to become a frozen peace of metal diesel may become gel-like if you got unlucky on gas station and all the lubricants are stone hard. couple of hrs of torching and cussing and you may be back on the road. just keep in mind that you only got couple of efforts to start the engine because battaries getting discharged badely.

  • bad

  • these trucks do not have Glow Plugs !!!

  • @silverbacktowing

really no glow plugs ? What system are they using then?

  • Sweet v8 rumble :D!!

  • The Glow Plug must be Glowing before starting it

  • Timing sounds advanced, but judging by the numbers on the door it should be.

  • 27 degrees, stock 143 has 10... One of the reasons it was so hard to start.

  • @Andrewminott1

    he he he !

  • @Andrewminott1 noice mate your good

  • i am surprised scania dont have fuel heaters in there tanks... that is a typical symptom of gelified fuel due to cold temps.

  • Nice sound, I mostly like inline 6's, but I worked on a International V8 in college and fell in love with it.

  • tried Aerostart or StartYa Bastard?it helps on the cold mornings.lol.

  • there is nothing like a SCANIA

  • @ednobre Yes there are, SISU.

  • @NappulaN sisu has to be the crappiest engine mfg in the world... try Deere or Perkins

  • I dunno if it's just me, but I think you a have a small exhaust leak...lol

  • first the wrong is its a Scania need to get a freightshaker

  • sounds like a train starting

  • SOUNDS WELL ;D

  • scania 2010 truck of the year

  • lol at 1:35, burn0ut!! w00t!!

    lol

  • @logitekg25 :P

  • @logitekg25 THATS NOT A BURNOUT FOOL ITS A COLD DIESEL

  • @allenscott19832008 no shit

  • esse motor devia estar parado a uns 10 anos no minimo !!! =D

  • Put this one in an techno club.

  • It is nothing wrong with the engine! It just have problems to getting fuel to each injector. after the winter!

  • That injection pump is junk to begin with

  • Should install a pre-luber to protect the bearings before startup.

  • Starting fluid? or is that a computer controled moter? Its just cold all 8 will fire up in a few minutes.

  • hmm i think its easiely problem with cooling water and oil cooling system... the water comes into the machine and it runs hot fast... and of course of the water the motor sounds damaged bad

  • this sounds like my old rusty washing machine when it spins...

  • hey this is a cool fog machine isn't it? :D

  • Hiljaa hyvä tulee :D

  • are u sure its running on more than 4 lol

  • omgt

  • 2 cylinders never did kick in, thats why there is so much smoke. I felt just like this engine this morning wakeing up :)

  • dag zò ala nafta!!!

  • Man thats just sound Great !

  • lol sounds like someone is makin` popcorn :))

  • sooo rough and had 2 start : )

  • Ecologico

  • you have some injection problems....clean up the injectors ;)

  • Its a race truck. You should know that the younger trucks, not the trucks you are thinking of, DOESN'T have glowplugs. Direct injection. Because its a race truck, its gets a crapload of fuel which you can see by the white smoke and, it doesn't get any help in the form of ether or something. Would you say that you know good engines. Go study.

  • well it doesnt look raceable to me! and it sounds like Ursus 335 (or any other 2 cilinder engine)

  • God that thing smokes lol

  • OR 400 commento...

  • i'll bet that that truck has more than a million miles on it, and then you can expect that the pistonrings are worn, but that doesn't matter because as soon the engine is on temperature, the pistons wil expand enough to run properly and smokefree. It may use some oil each 1000 miles or so, but this way it could do easely another couple of hundred thousant miles before the rest of the truck falls apart.

  • go suck a golf ball thru a garden hose scoobmeister

  • damn its smoking

  • it hasnt been started for a while by the looks of it anyone worth their salt will remember volvos old f7s f88 f89s starting up first thing in the morning they looked like they were running on good old welsh anthracite nothing really wrong there plus it looks like a race truck so the pump is probably wide open on it and for the record scania have done and still make brilliant diesel engines for some unknown reason a certain somebody on here has a gripe but that someone needs to chill out

  • yes they are not the best but not the worst to

  • im not arguing about outher cars i am arguing about scania

  • look at a 1997 saab it says scania saab

    how hard was that

  • wtf look at a saab by scania nice car look at a scania bus its fucking brillient

  • Beats American every time !

  • what a disapointment to such a good make of engine it should have been instant

  • yer thts really start first time pppfffftttt

  • The smoke will be down to the oil which has weeped into the bores over the time its been stood still, the poor starting is more than likely down to the air locks in the fuel lines as the fuel has bled back over time.

Its been stood over winter, i doubt it will start firts time on the key.

  • Man oh man, if that was a regular engine, I'd be like time ot get a new one!

  • Wouldn't it have been much easier to just give it a shot of ether?

  • or just prime the fuel lines.

  • obviously you know nothing about those motors, there arent any glow plugs in them

  • So there are no glow plugs? Does it run off the compression itself?

  • COREY497: No. you don,t know a shit about engines. Go home and do your homework you noob. There are spark plugs and glow plugs. Spark plugs ignites regular gasoline engines..by the help of spark...wow what a surprise for you huh? Glow plugs are used in diesel engines to heat combustion chamber. They glow like tungsten-filament in lightbulb do. Diesel won,t ignite itself unless it,s achieved appropriate temperature and pressure. If plugs are fucked up, you have to rape engine like this then.

  • obviously...malfunction of glowing plugs

  • Comment removed

  • why did he so smoke?

  • I guess low compression in couple cylinders. Engine isn't running properlly. It sound like two cylinder engine, like old Ursus 335

  • sound is ot the importand, power must he have and i think he has enough of them ^^

    sweeden power never die

  • it could stop work like that when engine get warm. Most important thing is that engine work, and once heated it could work with small lost of power!!

  • Yes , that`s the problem whit diesel engines , they lose compression when they get older and can take forever to start if that happens . But Diesel engines use to be very hard to start if they sit for a long long time . That`s true .

  • woah, hell lot of smoke

  • Jos Scaniaa ei olisi keksitty, suomi olisi vieläkin purouiton varassa.

  • Pikkuhiljaahan se alkaa lämpiin...

  • Nice!!! :)

  • either that old bitch.

  • You mean ether? It's not a good idea to use ether on some diesel engines, you can pop gaskets doing that.

  • i agree :S

  • it was like: come on... come on! you can do it! Come.. ON... almost... almost! ALMOST!

  • fun

  • plug it in for a while or try new deisel

  • diesel engines are amaising

  • parafine in fuel

  • parrafin works well.

its very advanced for top end/ higher rpm.

big injectors and lower compression for higher boost.

  • The engine is dead !

  • long live polution! :)

  • a real scania v8 they dont make them like that any more

  • water in fuel.

  • get some ether in there

  • OLD FUEL???

  • diesel. without a start for a whole winter. cold day. that means smoke. geez. ppl cant wait to talk shit about other peoples shit

  • Are you talking about yourselves?

  • porque echa tanto humo y le cuesta arrancar

  • get back here dick head

  • Love that idle sound

  • sounded like my popcorn machine
