Ha ha, you're so stingy, that you're not telling where to get the chemicals, you think all the people are so stupid? The person who is seriously interested in pyro, knows already where to get them
Not exactly. Several dyes work, but they are all expensive. Disperse blue #120 is the least toxic of the suitable dyes I found, which is a great advantage in this particular application. Other antraquinone based dyes probably work as well, but you'll have to look for them.

@Travjo28 Sieve the potassium chlorate with a 120# sieve, blend with the other components and press in a tube with an arbour press.

hi, looks great. i tried out some pigment colors but nothing worked. it was white all the time.
i did 60 potassium nitrate ( does it just work with chlorate???) , 40 citric acid , 40 paraffin and about 10 color pigments.
why is it such a secret with the dye? does the one from the supermarket work? it is all just colored pigments, i dont get it....
bigvolgin 2 years ago
@bigvolgin you have to use potassium chlorate if you want colour, nitrate burns much hotter and will not disperse the colour.
