How to make Shock Limiters for RC cars (Rustler VXL) MOD

You forgot to mention that doing this puts more strain on the suspension components when you land a hard jump. If you are doing this to keep from bottoming out, you should just get a stiffer spring or thicker shock oil instead. The chassis is meant to take some of the load of big jump landings anyhow.

@indy34096 i been runnin the same shock limiters for about a year now with no issue . nothing has broke/bent yet. The bic pen tube is flatting a tad thats about it. this was mainly made to PREVENT high centering off road and to keep soft shocks w/o worrying about buying stiff adjustable ones. I have upgraded to 80wt shock oil & put a bulkhead protector on that aids in preventing this. It has helped alot. And the chassis is but the screws that hold it on arnt, they got ate up badly witohut this

Fuel tubing would be a better choice as a bump stop. These are also not what we usually call limiters. These are bump stops. Limiters go under the piston inside the shock body and limit how much the shock can extend and thus reduce ride height.

@mehiggins101 ive been in this hobby for about 10 years and never heard anyone call these 'bump stops'. bump stops are used on full side cars-trucks with leaf springs that prevent the suspension components hitting the bumper or frame. Ive been told by professional rc enthusiasts saying these were called shock limiters, dont think im trying to be a dick. Plus i would do fuel tubing but i dont have access to any

@MrMotionpictures no shit lol :) and its doing the same thing it is when its fully compressed, its hurting nothing. it saves me shock shafts and chassis and bulkheads. if you dont like it then comment. dont complain about the little things it does. this mod has been on my truck for 6 months and it drives much better

@reidairsofter those are shock spacers ;) they help with ride height and stiffen it just a tad. and haha go for it! yea id love too see that! heheh!

@reidairsofter awesome! alloy ST and arms were my best ups yet, the alloy arms keep ur casters and links and shocks all from breaking, if u get RPM arms they flex causing the shocks to bend and the casters and links to as well!!

i use fuel line for my bi bores on my rustler and they work just as good but are easier on the shock body's and those plastic rings that hold the springs on
