Hey man thanks for your comments, just to let you know I've been singing semi pro and pro for 14 years and have yet to injure myself vocally the audition tape is a bad representation of my capabilities as that day I had the begginings of a bad head cold and very much over cooked the vocals having already sung a whole song which I put 150% into then was told to sing another and really made sure of the notes by belting it! kelly was right; he has a fantastic voice, but he pushes too much & if he continues to do it that often his voice will suffer...its something that can be fixed though & I'm sure he'll become a great vocalist :)
@08warea not quite, patti labelle who is one of the all time great soul singers as well as someone who growls a lot does not do what Jamie does. Just like Kelly said Jamie pushes air through his throat extremely hard when he growls which will mess with his vocal chords if he continues to do it. When Patti growls she does it from her diaphragm, which produces the raspy sound without the ill effects. Its just a matter of technique that he's lacking in...it can be improved upon though :)

@yakeedaa Agreed, his voice gave me chills. I'm thinking the reason why this didn't make it to ITV1 is because Gary seems to be missing from the panel, and there would have been continuity issues having only 3 judges put him through, instead of the usual 4.
