Ditto everything you said! I stopped participating in presidential politics the day Tricky Dick resigned, vowing that if I ever found someone worthy of my vote, I would campaign for them as well. Then came Obama and I am onboard and working for him all the way to the White House. GO OBAMA!!
I believe Obama when he said he didn't hear that perticular sermon. If he is like most he didn't go to church every sunday, wed. and thurs.
Christian should not hate because of the hue of someone's skin, or they should be prepared to tell GOD why one of his creations just wasn't good enough for them.
He is what this country needs. People have gotten so caught up in race and blaming each other. We need to come together and rebuild this country. After Bush this country is following apart. The man is brillant and full of wisdom with good old fashion common sense. He tells us what we need to hear. He makes us take a good look at ourselves. He inspires us to do. Action begins with inspiration.
He speaks well, but he's the only one talking about division. He fails to understand the importance of enabling Democracy to take root in the mid-east***FOR EXAMPLE - and think about this for just one second.....

The Hezbolah govt. elected in Palastine??? I don't think the US is too happy about the election of Hugo Chavez. Just because a govt. is elected in a Democracy it doesn't mean that they are necessarily friendly to their neighbors or the US.
PLEASE do NOT put the Clintons on the Obama ticket! You will lose our support! If she is so "old politics/old Washington" as you have said so often in your campaign, then she does NOT serve the Obama vision. Hillary must be left in the past. If she ends up on the Obama ticket, my family and I will campaign for McCain. End of story.
johnmcaindotcom subscriber- I would expect nothing less of you...I would argue that Obama has the ability to undo the damage that Bush has caused. I think it would behoove you to apply some of your own criticism to your candidate and try a little objective critical thinking.
Obama is spot on, the world is a small place and we all share this planet and America will once again be viewed as the wonderful, humanitarian country that it is, with amazing people, when Obama restores our good name when he becomes President!!!
I'll take a chance on change, then more of the same with McCain. As for Obama's preacher, I've listened to quite a few of his "full" sermons in their entirety, quite honestly, I believe in " a lot " of what he has to say, not all. The most radical ones that are out there, are the ones on the TV. - Which I don't agree with. - There are thousands of up lifting spiritual sermons, that are not played. I disagree with my own pastor, many times..
Even though he stumbles over his words here and there, he is such a smooth public speaker (like Bill Clinton and Gore). He puts Bush to shame and is going to crush McCain in those debates.
His pastor speaks a lot about him? How so? The leader of the church that you go to has nothing to do with what kind of a politician you are. That's like saying I'd make a bad president if the principal of my old high school randomly started a rampage on Jews. You have fun voting for McCain (Bush II). I'll be laughing at you when Obama is president and our country starts it's instant turnaround without that goofy hick running it.
so you vote for john mccain and his pastor, who said things like "God send Hitler to hunt Jews" or "Gays are responsible for Hurricane Kathrina" ? check out: watch?v=ErC1IJeHnyc
i'm sayin this objectively.its not fair people attacking her cos of her sex.so also obama cos of his race.I DONT LIKE HILLARY COS SHE IS STILL IN THE NOMINATION RACE COS SHE WANTS TO FORCE OBAMA TO MAKE HER THE VP.SHE WANTS TO HOLD POOR OBAMA TO RANSOM,DIVIDING THE PARTY BETWEEN BLUE COLAR,WOMEN,EDUCATED,RED STATES ETC JUST TO ARM TWIST THE VP POSITION.IF OBAMA FALLS INTO HER TRAP,I AM NOT VOTING FOR THAT TICKET
You know nothing. Lame promises? Screw you. McCain is just another Bush - and we need change in this country, and the sincerity that Senator Obama offers. Truly, it's somewhat amusing how people like you are cowed by the 'Audacity of Hope', pun intended.
Obama has gone through a tough campaign against Clinton but he has shown strength, intelligence, persiverance and hope! If We Democrats want 'Real Change' we have to get behind him no matter what. Like he has said we have a choice in this election, whether we want another 4 years of Bush like policies(In John McCain) or 4 years of change that will change the view of the world about America and actually bring change in Washington about how politics is governed in Washington!
McCain dont care about the troops he is against the new G.I. Bill, by sayin soilders dont need to get out of the military they are needed in war....now thats the reason the younger Generation dont want to sign up because they know they will be use up and left hangin if their family dont have big money to support them
I have held my vote for Obama since 04 and was glad to cast it in May in NC I'm proud that he did not enter politics for fame or fortune. He was chosen by the people. He's not a perfect man, but he is able to admit and learn from his mistakes. He showed great restraint with Hillary and never disrespected her. This race was not stolen from her; it was her race to lose and she and Bill lost it with their words, actions but mostly she couldn't grasp the change people desired.
What about Mr. McCain's 2 pastors? The ones he begged to endorse him. The one that said Hitler was sent by God and that the other that says Muslims are from the devil. Is that radical, or is it ok because they are white?
You're tired of Obama but you just can't help watching him, can you?
I can't freakin' wait until he's president. You must be blowing your top off. And to that, I'll say, tough shit. If you're dumb enough to judge Obama's character because of his pastor, then you'll never vote for him anyway. Stop trying to excuse yourself.
excuse me, but could you tell me what kind of experience does McCain have?. I am not from U.s. , so what are you talking about. Did you research his background already?
You're on the wrong side of history mlbarrow. But if you'd like, I'll drive you to the airport when Obama becomes President, and I'll even hold the doors so they don't hit you on your sorry ass on the way out.
I have not seen any presidential candidate Inspire people like this EVER. The last person to motivated this country like this was President John F. Kennedy. Barack is the man for the job. Go Obama!!!!!!
Can! I ask you a simple Question "Are you a racist?" If So!!! I'm asking Jesus tonight to change your heart to stop judging people because the color of their skin.
You need to do the math and accept that Hillary has lost this one, and has divided our party.
I love Hillary, she's done so much for the Afro American Community, so has Obama.
Marvelous. One of the best Obama videos yet. If he keeps framing the issues like this, maybe there is a chance that enough of us will be able to see beyond our divisions and elect this transcendant leader to be our President. For the sake of our nation and the world, I certainly hope so.
So what experience does McCain have that qualifies him to be the next President?
Bush & Cheney have tons of experience, we all know where their experiences have lead us.
Even with his worse economy & Foreign policies, I will prefer Bush over McCain any day or any time. For Bush, I know what I am getting; but McCain is a flip-flopper; there is no issue of national importance out there that McCain have not flip-flop on. The guys goes with the wind, the guy said he does not know economy.
hey mlbarrow you seem to be stuck on race and his old pastor, not many people denounce their preacher or pastor.just say you cant see past his skin, many try to cut baracks white mom out the picture as if she never existed,i guess you want to commit 4 generation of young adults to iraq,i have a question for you what do you think of the whites who attend the black churches coz there are many.character assasinations wont help america we are hated in alot of countries.
the best thing about obama being the democrat nominee is that all of us Hillary clinton supporters get to bring obama down to his knees and vote against him and give the election to McCain..heheheh. i love it too... its the mainstream media and the racist blacks fault too.... gooo mccain.. we love u mccain, from hardcore hillary supporter.. thanks to Ohio, Florida, Ky, WV, Pa, obama will never be prez...hehehehehehehehehe
I'll take this any day over a guy who is a war vet and can't even take a sensible position on a GI bill. McCain had a chance to be a good candidate and credibly cross the divide in this country. He gave that up to appease hardcore Republicans. He's a much weaker candidate as a result.
Change is not a lame promise. Barack Obama could not have appeared at a better time for our economy. Even if you hate the guy, I'm sick of people who plan to vote for McCain if their Democrat loses. John McCain... is the greater of two evils, I don't care which Democrat you support. A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush. Couldn't you just vote for Ralph Nader? He ain't gonna win anything.
Obama '08! Why does McCain divide our country over those who served in uniform and those who haven't. Not everybody is allowed to serve, especially if they already have kids! McCain has set those in uniform on a pedestal by saying they are only worthy of being elected. What experience is McCain talking about? McCain doesn't have any experience for what life is like when not being able to wear a uniform! That is why we need Obama! We need that experience, knowing how to make it here at home!
I lived in Kissimmee for 3 years... and Obama is right the entire area surrounding Orlando is the most racially diverse area I've ever seen and everybody gets along just fine...
And what about McCain's pastor reported by ABC News. Why hasn't this spread like wildfire similar to when the mainstream media jumped all over Obama and his pastor??
For the record, Pastor John Hagee was never McCain's spiritual advisor, yet even tho McCain rejected Pastor Hagee's endorsement, Hagee in turn took it back. Either way, the GOPs are screwed, as is Hillary. OBAMA IS THAT MAN!
I know he probably had a Freudian slip when he said "When our troops are getting shot at in Iran", but I just want to remind everyone that we're ever so close to going to war with that country. Maybe he knows something we don't. =/
Also, that poor guy in the background, raising his hand to speak. Wonder what was on his mind.
The USA is not a swanson TV dinner...sliced and diced and separate. The Republican motto is "you're on your own buddy" and Obama wants us to pull together and solve the nation's problems.
Look, if Hillary wants a recount in FL or MI, most likely Obama will win in landslide esp in FL 'cause all the people who voted for her initially will take back their vote & cast it 4 him 'cause they like what they see & like his message & vision! Back then, they didn't know him very well! Sure, all delegates should be seated but I guarantee, they'll pick Obama!
Obama has the fire when his charm and wits are aligned with his points. I dig that...he's more of a person connected to people than most politicians, and he will succeed.
He HAS to start campaigning here to have any hope of winning Florida in November... Unlike McCain, he wasn't ALLOWED to campaign in Florida for the primary.
Florida has become more and more conservative over the past few years... He's going to have to come down here a lot to have a good chance of swinging this vital swing state.
I think we can make it happen. If he keeps making unifying speeches like this, it's definitely within reach. Go to his website and help him organize!
and Hillary wasn't even scheduled to appear there, and then she suddenly appeared after him....now that's funny! I say count the states, cause he'll still win.
I hope that Barack Obama will be the next president. He deserve it. Just listen to the candidates. Barack Obama is the most professional. Just watch to the candidates... Barack Obama is the a better candidate than a super good candidate. He is extraordinary good...
Brilliant! Such a good speaker! Wouldn't mind if he came over to the UK and took a shot at our Government...... Can't wait for the Presidential Primaries in November! Hope you get it Barack!
It is about time someone worries about UNIFYING this country instead of trying to constantly divide and distract us.
It is time we have a leader who is willing to work with us, and for us, instead of looking at us like we are an obstacle in the way, and trying to scare us into falling in line.
Change in Washington is what we NEED. Obama IS change. Yes we can.
Get a surrogate out to speak the truth, If popular vote mattered, NO ONE WOULD CAMPAIGN IOWA AND NEW HAMPSHIRE. Popular vote worked well for us in 2000 too! the 1/3 of people who didn't vote for Obama in W.V. and Pennsyltucky voted for Bush over Kerry in 2004, These people are not democrats. 50 State Strategy will prevail. Speak the truth, don't let Senator Clinton dictate the talking points.
Good that he is talking about this racial tension issue. He needs to find a way to get through to people that look at him as being something foriegn even though he is not. Learning to move past these issues, but not ignoring them is what society as a whole needs to do.
It is time for this country to unify. We have been divided and conquered for the benefit of a few rich people who only get richer off the back of the hard working people of all races. It is time for change. Barack Obama is the change we need. As, he says he knows from personal experience that we are more alike than we are different. America the world is watching it is time we grow up as a nation.
OMG he was in Kissimmee and I didn't know it! :( I live 20 minutes from there.

And what about McCain's pastor reported by ABC News. Why hasn't this spread like wildfire similar to when the mainstream media jumped all over Obama and his pastor??
Go Obama!
zfreekaxoid 3 years ago 12
because the obama campain never jumped on the wagon, and that's the attitude to have.
let,s leave it for the deabte. if Mc Cain ever brings up pastor issues he'll have a foot in his mouth.
RainMan52 3 years ago 3

So good to see someone is making sense in this campaign!
GObama!
PlanetMother 3 years ago 8
He HAS to start campaigning here to have any hope of winning Florida in November... Unlike McCain, he wasn't ALLOWED to campaign in Florida for the primary.
Florida has become more and more conservative over the past few years... He's going to have to come down here a lot to have a good chance of swinging this vital swing state.
I think we can make it happen. If he keeps making unifying speeches like this, it's definitely within reach. Go to his website and help him organize!

Vappid 3 years ago
Good that he is talking about this racial tension issue. He needs to find a way to get through to people that look at him as being something foriegn even though he is not. Learning to move past these issues, but not ignoring them is what society as a whole needs to do.

It is time for this country to unify. We have been divided and conquered for the benefit of a few rich people who only get richer off the back of the hard working people of all races. It is time for change. Barack Obama is the change we need. As, he says he knows from personal experience that we are more alike than we are different. America the world is watching it is time we grow up as a nation.
