  • i just finished watching this movie on netflix and i was so moved! :(( her acting was great in here!

  • I am sorry to say ut i have never heard of this and don't want to watch it. And besides does she even understand japanese?

  • this was so bad...I had to stop watching halfway because I kept cringing. Look the storyline itself isn't bad. I blame it on this whole meshup of two cultures. It wasn't handled properly at all and created really awkward scenes. And yeah ok rest in peace Britney Murphy, you were probably a good person and etc. BUT she was really horrible in the film too. Completely awkward. At one point I think they played chinese kung fu music when the ramen chef was handling noodles. Ugh...

  • At least the love interest is Asian. Not some random white tourist who decides to fall for her.

  • this looks so retarded

  • From a non-Japanese woman's perspective, I have lived here for 10 years plus, it is quite dead on with regards to culture shock and how hard it is to adjust after just getting off the plane...very cute and light-hearted. RIP beautiful Brittany.

  • @Tokyokatt you live in Japan????what brought there? work? oh me and my girl love Japan, and we cant wait to go there someday, we'll make it there someday, what part are you in???where did you come from originally?? how was adjusting to it for you??

  • ya vi la pelicual y esta muy bonita muy recomendable saludos desde mexico

  • What a doll

  • Me encanto esta pelicula.

    Es demasiado bonita la historia.

  • ご冥福をお祈りします。

  • love her beautiful spirit

  • I was thinking of watching my copy of this movie on the day she died before I found out about her death. She was so cute one of my fav actresses.

  • R.I.P. beautiful ramen girl! I can't remember when it was good Moments of happiness elude Maybe I just misunderstood All of the love we left behind Watching our flash backs intertwine Memories I will never find So i'll love whatever you become Forget the reckless thing we 've done I think your lives have just begun I think your lives have just begun!
  • i dint see that ^.^

  • Looks super cute! I wanna watch it! RIP B

  • What I believe to be her best work... if you're a fan or just discovering murphy..it's a must watch.... RIP Miss Murphy.

  • her best work...this...!!! Don't you mean "Girl, Interrupted" as an example of her best work!?

  • her death was shocking!

  • This was a cute movie. I had to check to see if this was Brittany Murphy. I liked her. RIP

  • That's soooo sad.. She is so young!!!

  • RIP too young to die

  • i love how the cat does a "rolling with the homies" hand wave at her... r.i.p. brittany murphy.

  • I know reality story. It is "Ivan Ramen". Ivan Ramen's chef and owners is American guy. His Ramen is very famous in Japan.

  • ...why?

  • Cute movie. watched it. You can at least make fun of it.

I heard the Koreans were making the Kimchi version of this. lol

  • 0:38 - who is he?? I recognise him

  • OH MY GOD!! I just realised! ITS PIGSY FROM MONKEY!!!

  • I am pretty sure this movie has an alternate meaning, I'd watch it!

  • this is realy a movie o.0 ramen grl -_-

  • do any of you guys know where to watch this on youtube?

  • Sadly the part where she's upset in a Ramen joint reminds me of the corny Japanese movie Pussycat Ramen (no not a dirty movie) it has cat puppets and one actually does the depressed thing and learns to make ramen hehe, so I have to think they got part of the beginning from that, stupid assumption but still, still looks like a cute movie

  • i liked the movie. I thought it was cute!

  • That is two hours of my life I will never get back. The movie SUCKED.

  • This is actually a very well put together trailer.

  • it really made me cry when the chef said "you... my... sucessor" and she said "i'd be honored"

and also the part where she was put up the shrine and the chef who usually just lets her go actuallu came there and gave her this red thing. it as tear-jerking! i loved IT!

  • Who is that guy she was kissing?, looked like Matsuda Shota to me..

  • I believe it's Sohee Park. He's a Korean actor who is active in Japan.

  • This movie was surprisingly good, I enjoyed it! it gave me a craving for ramen afterwards.

  • you fools...this film is awesome and brittany also!!! THE RAMEN GIRL rOcKsSsSsSssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!

  • this looks really sweet! I'm probably the only person on YouTube that dosen't have kids that says something is sweet. Beats saying dumb things though.

  • I thought this was good story, and it was done well.

  • I thought this was a really cool movie. West invades East again by learning how to make Ramen noodles. ;)

  • I love this movie .

  • The Kitty! Waved~

  • she is so fiine

  • I thought I was the only one who thought this movie would fail. Looks like its the same for everybody else.

  • 見たらラーメン食べたくなってきた。

  • ANDO! at 1:24 ? hahaha! Cool!

  • I can cook Ramen, stick it in the microwave.

    I am teh mastah.

  • yeh her acting sucks donkey arse

  • Asobi Seksu makes the finishing touch!

  • WTF...................lol so bad

  • this movie never made to the cinemas

  • WHAT THE

  • This song looks like absolute rubbish, but I love Asobi Sekusu, the song playing near the end.

  • A rip off Tampopo.

  • Dude just watch Tampopo.

  • Fuck me this looks terrible.

  • Oh Gawd, I cringe inside seeing this trailer.

  • agree, one big cliche

  • Not bad, but not great either. There were some really funny moments, and some moments that just make your hair stand up. My favorite character is the wife. She's jokes.

  • Brittany can suck my noodle any time, mmm.

  • watched the movie.. pretty good.. japanese guy Toshi is cute!!!

  • Anyone who actually enjoys this movie is just as ignorant as the morons that made it.

  • I just watched this. One of the worst movies I have ever seen...absolute shit. Her acting was shit and all the westerners in the movie were fucking ignorant pricks who were just complaining about how bad Japan is....the country would be better off without them...especially that stupid red head. Pissed me off so much cause they played the erhu (Chinese violin) throughout the whole fucking movie! Typical Hollywood crap that have no fucking clue playing Chinese music when it's meant to be Japanese!

  • hah, tips in why movie suck and why it show regardless Japanese Culture is coz script is probably written by some jew, and jews/semites just HATE everything what refer to neoclassicism, which is Japanese Culture, juws will NEVER grow bonsai buahahah U catch my point??

  • Well, at least it's a good thing to watch trailer before downloading, hah. Now I must eat rosołek.. what a shitty and so hysterical [in the wrong way] movie.

  • way to rip on the jews

  • Yeah I was thinking the same thing. When the credits starting rolling I thought 'I bet some Jew made this shit movie' cause seriously they can make some real bs movies and voila

    Director: Robert Allan Ackerman

Someone with a name like Ackerman in Hollywood is definitely a Jew.

  • yeah, Ackerman and only one 'n' germ names are double 'n' always, but here in Poland, they change names in 1950 to polish sounds one, so after name is no way to pick one, hehe but I still recognize their faces... this is ability after grandpa haha

  • someone is a weaboo

  • Unlike you this someone is half Japanese so I know what the fuck I'm talking about and I have every right to say how shit the movie is since it regards the country I'm from.

(btw I had to look up the meaning of that word. You sound like one yourself since you use the the word)

  • hence your a weaboo, using your great egotism to think Japan is the greatest country evar. Goes to show your a big prick of a racist huh?

  • Alright I don't know what your problem is but you seem to have issues. When did I say Japan is the greatest country ever? I'm racist? To who? You're a fucking nutcase. My point in saying I'm half Japanese is that I have more knowledge about the country and hence the ignorant and annoying mistakes they made in this movie than the uneducated morons that this movie appeals to, and based on your determination to put words into my mouth I'm guessing you're one of them.

  • My thoughts exactly

  • Now your being pretentious. TL:DR

  • Which mistakes did they make in the movie?

  • The biggest frustrating mistake they made was the fact that they played the chinese voilin (erhu) throughout the entire movie. It's meant to be set in Japan, not China. By mistakes I also mean typical ignorant and unrealistic Hollywood crap. Brittany is an obnoxious bimbo who would never understand Japanese and how they think and so is her redheaded friend. Yet she somehow becomes a 'ramen master'. She doesn't look, speak or act one bit intelligent to have that kind of dedication or ability.

  • If she really wants to master making ramen you'd think she'd have the brain to at least learn the language properly first. She'd then go and learn the history of it and do some research. That's what would happen in reality if this was to happen. But no she doesn't do any of that but instead gets all pissed off at the teacher cause she can't understand what he's saying.

Just looking at her you can tell how stupid she is. The directors could have chosen someone that looked a bit more convincing.

  • I saw the movie a few days back and totally agree with you. The acting of brittany was poor and lame.

Like she was there just to catch the money and never care for what should interpret.

  • Who cares? If you want to see a movie about Japan, watch a movie made in Japan. This is an American film, i'm amazed they even have actual Japanese actors instead of some asian American extra from Fast and Furious.

  • lol. that old man keep cursing the women.

  • lol awsome ! i love japan ! lol funny title... but i love anime and manga and with narutos ubsession with ramen this atracted me

  • looks good

  • What's next? Wasabi boy?

  • Brittney Murphy is the Ramen girl ? WTF is next ?? "The Last Nigga On Earth" starring Tom Hanks.

  • LMAO...

  • that killed me haha

  • If Tom Cruise can be the GREATEST FUCKING SAMURAI EVER, then I suppose anything is possible...oh Hollywood, how could you!

  • Dude! I must have missed that movie. I saw "The Last Samurai" which was about a samurai (Ken Watanabe) teaching a disillusioned American drunkard how to appreciate foreign culture through learning a bit about bushido and kendo.

But maybe in a superficial sense some people might think Tom Cruise was supposed to be a samurai because he had a sword... Are people really that dumb?!?

  • ROFLMAO

  • She's horrible in this movie. I think a Japanese actress would have been much better.

  • i agree with you,.xD

  • Jesus......from living in Japan this movie makes me cringe! Lets reinforce the dumb westerner stereotype!

  • When is the release date ?

  • Wonder if she get's paid a slave's wage like real immigrants doing these kinds of jobs in Japan whilst holding no rights? If not, then the film is 100% fiction. Obviously a feel good film, but it's still important to know the truth.

  • dude, its just a movie, chill

  • lol holy crap i thought it was gonna be fake but it turns out to be a real movie XD

Oh and i wanna see it too :D

  • this is a movie for all those ramen lovers out there. JUST LIKE ME!

  • nice i want to see

  • at 1:27 pls pls send me a message PLS PEOPLE, Thank You!!!

  • The song is "Thursday" by Asobi Seksu

...you can find it here on youtube..=)

  • oh my gosh, can someone tell me what the song is? towards 3/5 of the trailer the song. plsplspls pls tell me. it sound so great!

  • Its by Asobi Seksu

  • OMGosh thank you so much! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • luv japan

  • this movie seeems nice. cant wait for it :D

  • um...correction jStmEhaZel123.

Ashely Tisdale looks like HER. Brittany Murphy was born first.

  • That's beause you're a damn *gaijin*. THAT'S why the chef hates you lol.

  • she looks like ASHLEY TISDALE..!!

    :]

    love this movie.♥♥

  • ashley tisdale is a plastic mickey mouses templated whore girl!

  • fell in love with this movie ^^

  • I just watched the movie and I couldn't help but totally fall in love with it. ^_^

But all of the time I felt I need to scream in Brittany's face: "Learn Ja-pa-nese!! Goddamnit! you are here for a year and you still can't speak it. Why is your will so strong and your ignorance aswell? Learn Japanese!" :)

Do you guys have any tips for me concerning more Japanese-Western-Clash-Movies in the spirit of "Lost In Translation" and "The Ramen Girl"?? (Please :)

  • I loved it too. send me same info u send lordofjoy

  • KILL BILL

  • Tampopo

  • Yup, Tampopo 1/2

  • its not actually easy learning japanese.

  • I am well aware of that. But if you lived there for over a year and without any contact to non-Japanese (almost) then you would be practically forced to learn Japanese but Brittany doesn't.

Like Sonny Chiba said: "Japanese is very difficult but very easy." I think I know what he means. After all, the Japanese do speak Japanese. All of them. So it's not impossible.

  • I just watched this film...very beautiful and heart-warming....and Ethan is a prick....one of the best ive seen :)

  • I watched this movie tonight. I liked the story and Brittany is such a cutie on this flim :)

  • This is so far fetch.. the truth is they wont let a giajin handle the cooking lol

  • pretty much.. or the shop would just be full of dirty old perverted ojisans

  • lmao

  • i just watched it

    it's so fabulas

    i love BM

  • Just watched this and it was fantastic. I cant help but love the japanese culture. The language is beautiful and the history is amazing. Its sad that the US and Japan were enemies and what happend in the past happend. So much time wasted in us not being able to expierence this amazing culture. Also Im not saying there cultrue is perfect no culture is but it certainly has alot of beauty in it.

  • I just watched it. It was suprisingly good.

  • C'mon, movie seem like crap, only nice thig is Brittany!

  • im am going to watch this right now. it looks so good!

  • where can i watch this movie? i cant find it anywhere

  • holy crap i am so watching this

  • Is it me or does this really really really remind you of that JAPANESE movie tanpopo?

  • It's a remake, so yeah.

  • that old guy was pretty funny in Tiger and Dragon.

  • haha i never even heard of this until now XD but it looks interesting. i'd watch it. :)

  • It doesn't look great, but it doesn't seem any more horrible than whatever's out now. Why isn't Tammy Blanchard mentioned?

  • omgosh i cant wait to see this

  • jajajaja this looks awesome

  • 日本映画のアメリカの女優か。

  • It looked like it could have been a heartwarming if not corny movie with Murphy in it, then again I have a thing about using actors that you can't see as the character anymore but only the actor. But maybe she's do greats, can't judge til I see it

  • I know this movie has been through a lot of heated debate, but "The Ramen Girl" doesn't look that bad to me. I think I would enjoy watching it. Plus there is Asian/White romance and that is a super plus in my book! ^^

  • omoshiro so desuna

    looks intersting

  • This looked interesting until they started spiritualizing ramen. (rolling eyes) Would they throw away a good chili just because someone didn't make it without enough "spirit" I think good chili is way harder to make than a good ramen from scratch, and I can make both well without getting emotionally involved thank you very much.

  • maybe they should of made it, Sushi girl, instead. that may of made more sense.

  • plus reuse of Lost IN Translation?

  • this LOOKS SO STUPID. oh my goodness.

trying to be like tampopo meets american hollywood.

    sigh.....

  • Seems obviously independent, not fucked up and biased like jewliwood ones. Wanna go watch this film here in Japan!

  • really cool concept except that brittany murphy seems so stiff and whiny...i dont think its gonna be too good

  • Looks like an interesting movie.

    Not the typical hollywood blockbuster.

    Can't wait to see it!

  • did any one watched this movie?

  • Damn now I want to eat ramen.... I'm hungry :(

  • I'm hungry too..but I want to eat Brittany Murphy.

  • lame

  • ooh! they used Asobi Seksu for some of the music

  • anybody know when this movie is coming out In USA?? It looks like it could be interesting, not to mention the chief it totally famous, I am happy to see him in another movie.

  • This movie is remake of "TANPOPO" by Holly Wood?

  • omg That's what I was thinking

  • Fucking this preview basically just showed me the whole movie. Why would I bother to see it now (not that I was going to anyways).

  • I was just thinking the same thing :S

It fucking even showed that the cook will accept her and ...well... the end.

    wth?

  • What CaribBarney said exactly. This looks like what you'd see on a TV show making fun of an actress or movie. This looks simply terrible and would be better if it was a comedy called "Ramen Boy" with Will Ferrell as the lead.

  • Where the hell is this movie?

  • In my trunk...want a copy? 10 bucks...

  • Film of the year.

  • hmm. well, since they already showed the whole movie in this one preview (all the way down to naming her the successor to the ramen shop), what do we do next? lol

  • is there sex scenes in this movie?

I heard the master chief and murphy fuck in one scene?

  • wanna see?

  • yEG !!!

  • This looks like what you'd see on a TV show making fun of an actress or movie. NOT a REAL movie.

  • Wow! Looks awesome! I can't wait to see this movie.

  • please tell me your kidding...

  • No I'm not. I am a big fan of Toshiyuki Nishida, and ramen is my favourite Japanese food.

  • Is this a hollywood joke?

  • jesus, what the fuck man.

  • this has to be a joke.

  • i want to see this so bad it looks really good

  • Is it me or those this movie look retarted

  • FUCK THAT
