My point in saying I'm half Japanese is that I have more knowledge about the country and hence the ignorant and annoying mistakes they made in this movie than the uneducated morons that this movie appeals to, and based on your determination to put words into my mouth I'm guessing you're one of them.
The biggest frustrating mistake they made was the fact that they played the chinese voilin (erhu) throughout the entire movie. It's meant to be set in Japan, not China. I know this movie has been through a lot of heated debate, but "The Ramen Girl" doesn't look that bad to me. I think I would enjoy watching it. Plus there is Asian/White romance and that is a super plus in my book! ^^

This looked interesting until they started spiritualizing ramen. (rolling eyes) Would they throw away a good chili just because someone didn't make it without enough "spirit" I think good chili is way harder to make than a good ramen from scratch, and I can make both well without getting emotionally involved thank you very much.

What CaribBarney said exactly. This looks like what you'd see on a TV show making fun of an actress or movie. This looks simply terrible and would be better if it was a comedy called "Ramen Boy" with Will Ferrell as the lead.
