It is my belief that maybe they know all about the galactic alignment that is going to go down on 12-21-2012, and they might have knowledge of some bad things that might go down on that date, so they are,maybe, surveying on our planet(counting ppl) to determine how many ships it will take to get us all off the planet, or to safety, or whatever. Some believe that may be where the stories of noah's ark may possibly come from. From an incident like that.
This is just as anthrocentric as religious belief, it exaggerates our own importance in the universe. It's rooted in the belief that we are so damn wonderful and so damn interesting that like god, aliens too want to watch and monitor our every move.

True, we have more access to cameras nowadays, but nobody is ready to take a picture at any given moment. My camera is in its case in my car. My cell phone does have enough charge at this moment. You cannot be ready 24/7 to take a picture of an event you don't know is going to happen and that happens in an instant, no matter how many cameras you have. Did Nye have one?
I approached this show as a believer. When a high profile show like this says ufos interfere with missiles, you think it's true. However it just ended up being like other shows in which most of the evidence is just people saying what they or someone else saw, and if you aren't 100% convinced, you're out of line.
I think they came down too hard on Bill Nye almost immediately. He only said that it's a big step to go from seeing something high up in the sky to saying it's e.t. spacecraft.
Problem is Nye speaks as tho he has done research when in reality he has not. He's a bluffer who prays on peoples ignorance and social acceptability to sway opinions.
There is overwhelming evidence that intelligent driven metallic objects are , and have been for a long long time, buzzing our skies, and even landing on our soil.
There is no concrete proof (no-one has caught an Alien and Aliens havent been interviewed on Fox News etc) but dont underestimate testimonies from extremely good witnesses. The same people we entrust with our safety (pilots, Nuclear Warhead personell, Military etc etc) are breaking silence on events which are collaborated by
technology , like radar, and hundreds of civilian witnesses aswell as traces , such as radiation, landing marks etc.
Remember, a Court of Law is heavily reliant on witness testimony. I find it amusing how people suddenly dismiss the accounts of good eye witnesses (as mentioned above) as ramblings of a "kook".
These things may not be enough for you or other people, and tbh I would be slightly skeptical about the claims had I not seen a few "sightings" of my own.
