  • Doesn't matter how old or how young.... ya gotta love the Scottish accent, ach-ai! ….And WOW can he play!!!! Kat

  • I find it ironic that he's jokingly saying that he couldn't understand the blues players when I can barely understand a word he says. Accents aside, this guy can play.

  • Great stuff Tony! Hope you're enjoying your retirement.

  • My uncle!

  • sweet, he used to teach me, i thought this was funny of him, never seen that side before

  • Tony was also my guitar teacher at school many moons ago. Not only did he do what it took to get me through the exam, he also gave me a love of the guitar which is still with me today. Great to see him perform and to see him on YouTube!

  • Tony's brilliant dry sense of humour and musical ability make him an excellent entertainer. WELL DONE , and keep it up!

  • my guitar teacher and dear friend for almost 35 years, I can only agree with the the other posts about his great playing, Tony, once described by NME as "a virtuoso player comfortable with many styles" is not only a very fine player but one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. He is ex-lead guitarist of the highly popular folk group Rankin File, sadly no longer together, you can hear more of Tony's skill on their albums.

  • he's my guitar teacher

  • I used to be on of Tony's students when I lived in Edinburgh and it was always brilliant. A real inspiration and definitely one of the reasons I still play. Never had a tutor through here in Glasgow who could measure up to him. Brilliant player and great performer :-)

  • great guitar work and a good performer

this is what youtube was made for!

  • Legend. Good song and well played.

  • awsome , tought me to play guitar :)

    great guy

    ledgend

  • I agree, the best guitarist and teacher in the whole of Scotland!

  • This should have been extended to concert length. Saw him at Maggie's gig and he was immense!!

  • Tony Mitchell is just about the best guitar player (and teacher) in Edinburgh, if not Scotland, and this clip does give a taste of his abilities.

He is a tremendous performer, and his performances are always immensely entertaining.

  • this is what folk clubs are about, good honest entertainment.
