@cathrinwitt I didn't train him on it so not sure how long it took. I'm pretty sure he just needed a little persuasion, then you couldn't keep him off it. Just have to show them it's ok.
He was clearly asking for more. JRT's are very tenacious and determined, so Steve's barking is him saying 'Speed it up you pussy, gimme MORE, I'll go all day and night' Anyone who's ever owned a JRT will agree... Believe me, if he wasn't enjoying it, he would flatly refuse to go on it, they are well known for being stubborn too. I'll bet the owners have a job keeping him off it...

In fact, I suspect that pcampagna is absolutely right, if that barking meant anything, it was "turn it up!!!" They not only like to spend their energy, they need to do it. If they can't, they actually become sick in the long run.
Freaked out? Nervous? Some people just love to defend animals to the point that they have to find any hint of distress and come to the rescue. This dog is having fun!
it sucks that you have to defend excersizing your dog, some dogs are very high strung and not every owner has the 3 hours a day to walk them, just remeber that you still do need to walk him on a leash for a mentally balanced dog, ask ceaser if you dont know what im talkin about
Did anyone notice that his tail is wagging? Looks happy to me. I have a border collie thats has the same energy level as a jack russel. They love exercise!
