There is nothing BOLD about his health care plan. Lool. in Austria health care is nearly totally free. for the state it does not cost much. Why do the Americans not want that? I prefer states that support Health Care/Education/Free Housing and not a super large military. It would be so simple...
Bush didn't even have a plan, he took a plan sitting in Washington and used it, as he did with alot of plans. McCain has something that he plans out something that he can do.
and Gamerguy McCain doesn't want to keep us at war for 100 years I dont know where you got that. and he is finding new power source. It's called Nuclear Energy, we just can't pass it because of the Democrats.
ray123ee what heath care do they get for that money. Almost nothing.
Five-year cancer survival rates bear this out. For leukemia, the American survival rate is almost 50 percent; the European rate is just 35 percent. Esophageal carcinoma: 12 percent in the United States, 6 percent in Europe. The survival rate for prostate cancer is 81.2 percent here, yet 61.7 percent in France and down to 4

More recently, the highly regarded Commonwealth Fund... . Its latest report, issued in May, ranked the United States last or next-to-last compared with five other nations — Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and the United Kingdom..."
it may not be true but mcCain is wrong becasue he wants to keep us in Iraq for if necessary the next hundred years this war is alo hurting the american economy because we are spending so much of our budget on it for the point of getting oil when we really should be trying new enrgy sources and not just seeking to prologue the inedible so GO OBAMA
McCain is just emphasizing that we as Americans need to leave our options open. He hates war as much as anyone. He wants killing of our troops stopped. But he will do what is best for America and stability in the Middle East. Can you tell me what pulling out too quickly will do if a candidate promises that? We need victory over the enemies to stop futher killing of innocent life for generations to come.
i dont think so. i think mc cain is just an other puppet of the military/the big companies. And i am sure he would soon attack other countries like eg venezuela or cuba..
but this war is draining our economy because we need to keep purchasing weapons from other coutries when we are already in debt also we should not be policing the middle east unless we have reason to believe their is a threat
No he a ex-POW and Vietnam Vet, which we should give him respect for that. But what he do that made him any more of a hero than any other vietnam vet. I know vietnam vets and they don't go running around saying like him talking about their experience. Most are humble and say they just did their job.
He didn't steal shit! She lost fair and square and she KNOWS it. That's why she endorsed him. If you wanna disregard everything she stood for when you voted for her, then fine go ahead and vote for McCain, someone who is diametrically opposed to her policies.
McCain is the reason I'm leaving the Republican Party - I can't support a candidate who supports "Cap and Trade" - who calls for a "League of Democracies" that sounds terrifyingly simmilar to the progressive Democrats "League of Nations" almost 100 years ago - who only had a "C" grade from the NRA the last time he ran for the Senate - who not only supported Amnesty for Illegals, but was a co-author of the legislation - who admits washington has corrupted him(google keating 5)
MCSAME as BUSH!!! won't go so far as to say that McCain is "against the troops" or any such nonsense, but I think it's crystal clear that taking care of veterans does not rank high on his priority list. At least, not when weighed against tax cuts for the wealthy, corporate interests, or other conservative ideological bugaboos
All I want is a health care plan that is affordable. I don't want anyone to pay for it for me, just make it affordable; I can pay my own bills...I am not a welfare entitlement bum.
I almost heard the question 'how' addressed here, which is impressive. But quite frankly, he sounds like he's running as a democrat. 'Requiring millionaires' sounds like a hint of socialism to me, though that would depend on how one went about 'requiring'.
What YOU don't understand is that your are not entitled to healthcare. It is not a god-given right, and this man will GIVE you 5000 dollars to help you. And he won't raise taxes to boot.
Dark ego, you say "God-given right". Before you start giving religious nonsense prove your religion to be correct. There are many religions out there and not all of them have the same "God-given rights" that you speak of.
Well her is your problem. I said god-given NOT God-given. The lower case g signifies that I am not specifically referring to the Christian sky god, but any sort of magic man in the sky.
I am a taoist, so I don't believe in a magic man in the sky. I like your response though =D
Religious nonsense.
Plus I was being sarcastic and making fun of people for their "God-given" right to healthcare and guns.
McSame is not going to do shit about health care. The reforms listed in the add are not going to make a dent in the health care problem in this country. McCain's proposals would just tweak the system it would not truly change it. He only came up w/ the proposals because he is running for POTUS. He doesn't give a shit about health care.
I am voting for John McCain, however, two concerns about health care.
1. Insurance companies are discriminating again people who have or develop pre=existing conditions. For example, high blood pressure, diabetes major conditions affecting many Americans, but insurance comapnies discriminate against pre-existing conditions. Is this fair? I think not.
2. Many people work full time for employers who do not provide health insurance. They are forced to either seek public health, which costs the taxpayer. Should we not require employers to provide medical insurance where the employer and employee share the cost of insurance?
Mike Huckabee. He raised taxes in his RED state, he let the illegals get free college tuition, he took hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts while in office, his son brutally murdered a poor dog, he pardoned THOUSANDS of murders/criminals, he let out Wayne Dumond who then subsequently went on to murder more people, he doesn't know ANYTHING about the economy or foreign policy, makes idiotic statements (like eating squirrels in college in a popcorn popper).
Your not going to win old man. Go take a nap. Dinner is at 6:00, and Bingo is at 7:00. Obama can take over now. Go to sleep, go to sleep. gooo tooo slleeeepppp.
JimboTHC has summarized the other statements by showing what people against capitalism and financial freedom think. Capitalism, like anything else is what you as an individual make of it. Believe in yourself and you can do anything. If you need to skip a summer vacation, so be it. Do not rely on others to take care of your problems, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and take control of your life. If you believe in yourself, you will find out that McCain is what you are looking for...
People worried about taxes and universal health care. You are looking at it wrong. Consider the amount of money you pay in taxes now and get nothing in return - well a war - and add the cost of health insurance, co-pays, denied care, and prescription drugs. Tax funded, non-profit, everyone pay in health insurance is a bargain.
So importing drugs is the solution to reducing drug costs? That's just importing price controls from other countries. I'd rather have tired old politics. John McCain, you are no friend of business.
The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.5 He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.
However do you think that the average american would support socialized medicine if they knew how large of a chunk of their paycheck would go to healthcare. The US government currently spends 27% of our GDP. That is amoung the lowest of any country industrialized country. Lets keep it that way. Support tax deductions for money spent on health insurance. Support John McCain's plan. However, leave insurance choice up to the people. suppport America
in response to my previous comment the 27% spent is total budget of the federal goverment. with the insitutionalized healthcare and socialized medicine that would probably shoot up 10 to 15 points.
McCain would take away tax incentives form companies who offer health insurance to they're employees, thus forcing you to buy private health insurance.
Allowing the importing of drugs from Canada is just plain stupid. Canada has lower drug prices because they negotiate bulk sales of drugs from the same companies we buy our drugs from. Why can't we set up the same system here?
The average cost for a family of 4 ( provided they're all healthy) for private health insurance is $12,000 a year. For a family living on $48,000 a year a $5000 tax cut isn't going to help them buy private insurance.
McCain makes no provision for pre-existing conditions, too sick to get insurance , TO BAD FOR YOU!!!
The myth that you can choose your own doctor under McCain's system is almost laughable. Anyone that knows anything about private health insurance plans knows what I mean.
I had a major medical policy through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida for my family of four (individually underwritten). I was paying less than $350 per month.
Now group health insurance is a different story because insurance companies are forced to cover the fat-bodies, smokers, and those with pre-existing conditions (if it's an HMO).
We've never had a problem with our desired providers not being in our prefered network.
People just want someone else to pay for their healthcare.
Deductibles? Co-Pays? The age of you and your wife? Are your children in perfect health? Any preexisting conditions? Do you have the hospitalization only plan with high deductibles or a full service plan with lets say a $500 deductible that includes office visits ? How about co-pay is it a 80/20 split for in-network, 50/50 out of network? Ya know, I'm not saying that a premium of $350 is impossible under perfect conditions but it's not normal. And what about "fat-bodies" They're people to.
McCain's plan is right on target. If you have your own plan and it is portable, then your pre-x's will be covered. If you own your own plan, you are not a slave to your job just to keep your insurance. $5000 a year will just about pay for my family of four's health insurance, and I make the decisions, not the government.
A single payer system like they have in Canada would offer the same freedom, it would be a lot less expensive, because insurance companies aren't making billions in profits. And contrary to rightwing propaganda you would be free to choose your own doctors.
Yeah, Canada's system is so good that a couple who recently had quadruplets had to go to Montana...MONTANA!!!...because there weren't any neonatal units available in the whole country of Canada! Careful what you wish for...
John McCain has repeatedly promised to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years. This is what he says when asked about his promise to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years.
John McCain has repeatedly promised to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years. This is what he says when asked about his promise to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years. 70% of Americans want all American troops out NOW, but McCain promises to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years.
Did you actually listen to what he said. He was referring to having troops based there just as we have had troops based in Japan for 50 years now. He was not talking about being at war for 100 years. Statements like yours are just like the nuts who say Obama is a Muslim. Get real.
In other words, we'll have a presence in Iraq just like we've had a presence in Germany, Japan, and S. Korea for as long as it serves our national interests. He didn't mean we'd fight a war for 100 years.
Check out Chris Wallace's interview with Howard Dean from this past weekend's Fox News Sunday. Seems the DNC cut out a crucial part of the comment.
John McCain promises to keep American trrops in Iraq for 100 years. What an idiot. 70% of Americans want all American troops out of Iraq NOW. John McCain promises to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years.
John McCain is willing to help support the Iraqi government not enslave them.
For those who say we need to leave Iraq ASAP. I say this. If we leave Iraq now during its most trying time, all those who fought for a free Iraq will have died in vain, & Iraqs stability/future will be much harder.
We must help those who stand up for justice in a country where standing up for freedoms can get u killed.
We can either help, or we can sit back and watch it fall apart on CNN.
The fact is that all those who died in Iraq have died in vain. The only question is how many more will die for Bush's vanity before we admit that truth.
Tell that to the Kurds who say the shed a thousand tears for every american drop of blood shed.
The fact is you care more about having a democrate in office than you care about facts or who is the best man for the job.
I wish you could speak with my Iraqi friends, maybe they could clear up some of your misunderstandings. The fact is Iraq continues to move forward and become safer and more secure. The men who have died will not have died in vain if Iraq continues it path to security.
Why should I give a fuck about your Iraqi friends? This is America. The President should do what is best for Americans. Invading Iraq was the biggest foreign policy mistake in US history. We cannot afford spending one more ounce of American blood or one more cent of American treasure on that quagmire.
Expounding: Not sure what compassion has to do with anything? Whether we should have gone into Iraq or not is a moot point. We can not invade a country, destroy their institutions, fiddle around with democracy for a few years, then say "oh, well, this isn't working out, we're outta here" and leave it in shambles and up for grabs for various islamic crazies. We have to finish the job. Talk about a lack of compassion.
What has this got to do with healthcare, we're NOT talking about Iraq now that's a whole different thread, so stop trying to change the subject Mr compassionate (like you really ever cared about the Iraqi people). We're talking about people in this country that are going bankrupt because they can't afford or can't get private health insurance. Why is 50% of all bankruptcy in this country related to illness and injury. In no other western country is this a problem.
Start looking at the actual candidates and who fits the commmon american and then you will see who loses the general election. Most americans like to make their own decisions when it comes to just about everything... and you think healthcare will be different
uuuhhhh how about the only solution to health insuracne in america is, take all health insurance CEOs to court and have them fucken killed. destroy any health care company. then just look at one of the leading countries health program and do it there way. and taxes arent bad if they are used properly. i can bet that if they were used properly that they wouldnt even have to raise taxes for socialized medicine.
or we could just tax religion and pay for it that way. and pay off our entire debt.
obviously you have never acctually dealt with a health insurance company. they are evil people who only care about money. they dont deserve to do business in america. they are a scam. and these candidates are just going to give them more business. if you have never had multiple injuries with multiple insurances and doctors, then you dont know ANYTHING about there system and how they take advantage of people. people pay way more for insurance than they ever would with taxes.
we got a Liberal power drunken female, thats more confused than a cow on astroturf, we got another power drunken Liberal, this one don't salute the flag, calls our troops terrorists, and might be a black panther, then we got a Libertarian posing as a Republican, that wants to hide in our own little corner of the world, and on top of that has less brains than a woodpecker on an aluminum telephone pole. McCain might be old and loaded, but at least he's not a morally inverted liberal.
He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.
Not to mention that he has enjoyed "evil", "socialized" "government run" health care HIS ENTIRE LIFE. It's good enough for McSame, but not good enough for you or me.
"80,000 jobs last month, according to the Labor Department"
By the way look up what the "Unemployment rate" means. Many who are losing their jobs to overseas investors and outsourcing will not fall into the "Unemployment" field even if they don't get another job...
Many are jobless yet are not called "unemployed" by our government or our statistics.
People can point to a decent unemployment rate but that just means many people who lost jobs are unable to find new ones.
"So is the so called "recession" that we are NOT in."
"April 4, 2008 • The U.S. economy lost 80,000 jobs last month, according to the Labor Department's closely watched jobs report, out Friday."
"The number of US homeowners entering foreclosure climbed 75 percent in 2007 from a year earlier as mortgages became more difficult to refinance and falling property values made it tougher to sell.
More than 1 percent of US households were in some stage of foreclosure during the year...
Go with Bush and talk about magic wands if you want (did he just read Harry Potter?) or you can talk in actual economic terms and use more common words for political discourse (in politics "crisis" is more often used than "magic wand").
McCain and Bush haters have to lie to get their point across. Pitiful. Stupid Communists, racists, terrisists, democrats, pro choice idiots. Vote John McCain 2008.
Vote for McCain and get more of the same. All you will get is a marginally better President and administration than what we have now. Really want that?
Look, if you complain against age, then go to the congress, senate, and Supreme Court to complain. Around 27% of all of them together are all older than McCain. And yes, Huckabbe or Romney would be good.
"Look, if you complain against age, then go to the congress, senate, and Supreme Court...."
Ugh it was a joke! But while we're on the topic, there is no sense of national urgency/unrest when a member of Congress or the Supreme Court keels over due to old age; plus, the stress level for them is much less than the burden placed on the POTUS (who doesn't get to take long recesses). Repubs got this nom very wrong, indeed. Of course, they haven't gotten a lot right lately... no pun intended.
Oh sure, McBush is JUST WHAT WE NEED, Another 100 years in Iraq in a BULLSHIT war, Hey... Lets see if we can REALLY BANKRUPT THE NATION! WOOT! Oh I'm sure a McBush Presidency would be grand, nothing like having a drooling Grandpa come up with creative Initiatives like Fucking our Highway Infastructure so everyone gets $28 bucks this summer. LOL. McBush is a fucking joke, God help us if this Asshole becomes President.
that is actually he was campaigning the entire last year, and he only voted on a handful of bills. If u look at his league of conservation rating the years before he has consistently been in 50-60, not as high as democrats but pretty high. Most importantly on important environmental bills he has sided on the environmental side, like for example drilling in anwar, where almost all repbulicans and even some dems supported, and he didnt for environmental reasons. Out of the reps he is pro-envir.
9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."
he doesnt believe or hold those views and called them nonsense. So did obama in his remark about rev wright. it is ridiculous that ppl will tie these candidates to pastors, they support him thats it. That doesnt mean the candidates holds views of all their supporters.
8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.
well yes they are. But if u look at all the candidates except john edwards, especially obama, the democrats have lawyers and people who do the same things as lobbyists, but dont have the title lobbyists next to them. But the important thing is, he wont lobby for them. Thats the problem. He doesnt even vote in accordance with the party in terms of immigration, finance reform, torture, environmental policies, why would he listen to lobbyists. fact of the matter is he wont, in terms of policies
7. Many of McCain's fellow Republican senators say he's too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."
it is ridiculous that temper should be an issue. This is a guy who has led the fight in bipartisanship. If he is so hot headed, then why is lieberman, a life long democrat supporting him. How could he get mccain-lieberman, mccain-feingold, mccain-kennedy, passed by being hot headed. How could he have survived being a POW and going back to reconciling with ppl who tortured him. The short bursts he has sometimes is similar to most presidents like bill clinton and even lincoln.
6. He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.
it's the homeowners and lenders faults, not the governments. why should I pay for their screwups!!! let them sue the lenders if they were deceived. And there is no crisis... 95% of homeowners pay their mortgage on TIME! The "crisis" is a left wing media creation. So is the so called "recession" that we are NOT in.
5. The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.
3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.
When Obama proclaim you have a right to health care, He means other things. 1st they want unlimited power to force others to provide U with health care.

Dark ego, you say "God-given right". Before you start giving religious nonsense prove your religion to be correct. There are many religions out there and not all of them have the same "God-given rights" that you speak of.

ZeroFuel31 3 years ago
They just passed a law banning this at the federal level.
DarkEgo 3 years ago
2. Many people work full time for employers who do not provide health insurance. They are forced to either seek public health, which costs the taxpayer. Should we not require employers to provide medical insurance where the employer and employee share the cost of insurance?

People worried about taxes and universal health care. You are looking at it wrong. Consider the amount of money you pay in taxes now and get nothing in return - well a war - and add the cost of health insurance, co-pays, denied care, and prescription drugs. Tax funded, non-profit, everyone pay in health insurance is a bargain.

Healthcare is a major issue in this country.
However, leave insurance choice up to the people. suppport America
waukee3523 3 years ago
in response to my previous comment the 27% spent is total budget of the federal goverment. with the insitutionalized healthcare and socialized medicine that would probably shoot up 10 to 15 points.

Part 2
McCain would take away tax incentives form companies who offer health insurance to they're employees, thus forcing you to buy private health insurance.
Allowing the importing of drugs from Canada is just plain stupid. Canada has lower drug prices because they negotiate bulk sales of drugs from the same companies we buy our drugs from. Why can't we set up the same system here?
chicagoken 3 years ago
Not only don't we: CONGRESS HAS PASSED LAWS WRITTEN BY THE DRUG LOBBY TO FORBIT IT!!
I'm a free market advocate but the current Republican party has proven time and time again that they have no such guiding principles.
They support the rich while using the same free market arguments that they readily contradict as a mask.
blaimjos 3 years ago
The average cost for a family of 4 ( provided they're all healthy) for private health insurance is $12,000 a year. For a family living on $48,000 a year a $5000 tax cut isn't going to help them buy private insurance.
McCain makes no provision for pre-existing conditions, too sick to get insurance , TO BAD FOR YOU!!!
The myth that you can choose your own doctor under McCain's system is almost laughable. Anyone that knows anything about private health insurance plans knows what I mean.
chicagoken 3 years ago
I had a major medical policy through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida for my family of four (individually underwritten). I was paying less than $350 per month.
Now group health insurance is a different story because insurance companies are forced to cover the fat-bodies, smokers, and those with pre-existing conditions (if it's an HMO).
We've never had a problem with our desired providers not being in our prefered network.
People just want someone else to pay for their healthcare.
natemoore 3 years ago
Deductibles? Co-Pays? The age of you and your wife? Are your children in perfect health? Any preexisting conditions? Do you have the hospitalization only plan with high deductibles or a full service plan with lets say a $500 deductible that includes office visits ? How about co-pay is it a 80/20 split for in-network, 50/50 out of network? Ya know, I'm not saying that a premium of $350 is impossible under perfect conditions but it's not normal. And what about "fat-bodies" They're people to.
chicagoken 3 years ago
McCain's plan is right on target. If you have your own plan and it is portable, then your pre-x's will be covered. If you own your own plan, you are not a slave to your job just to keep your insurance. $5000 a year will just about pay for my family of four's health insurance, and I make the decisions, not the government.
Diverbelo 3 years ago
A single payer system like they have in Canada would offer the same freedom, it would be a lot less expensive, because insurance companies aren't making billions in profits. And contrary to rightwing propaganda you would be free to choose your own doctors.

Talk about a lack of compassion.
natemoore 3 years ago
What has this got to do with healthcare, we're NOT talking about Iraq now that's a whole different thread, so stop trying to change the subject Mr compassionate (like you really ever cared about the Iraqi people). We're talking about people in this country that are going bankrupt because they can't afford or can't get private health insurance. Why is 50% of all bankruptcy in this country related to illness and injury. In no other western country is this a problem.

By the way look up what the "Unemployment rate" means. Many who are losing their jobs to overseas investors and outsourcing will not fall into the "Unemployment" field even if they don't get another job...
