Anthony # 1, um Iam a pro doc at knee surgery and I suggest to let a doc do it, I would do it, but we will be asking for$ 1000 a year, until u get to$ 8000
If there are any surgeons, or people who know about this, do you think knee and hip surgery would be a good career as a surgeon, please respond, thanks.
i had a torn meniscus, had the surgery and im 13. things arent good with me. i have a possibilty i have arthrits. it hurts constantly. i do everything tht im supposed to. my physical therapist reccommended coming bak for therepy, which i dont like going to. soccer is my life i have been out fort a month and a half and maybe even longer.
@englishtoarab i had a torn meniscus as well and i had fluid poring out and making my knee swollen and i wasnt able to move it and bent it. all they did is put a giant needle in and suck it out. since i was growing i didnt require surgery and after few months of therapy t healed buy itself

I just went through the meniscus surgery and found out that my ACL is damaged. I have to stop ROTC until it is fixed.... 1 month recovery time and 6-9 months of Physical Therapy. =(
continuation: now i am walking not that good as i used to do..but i can walk..still feeling some pain and it´s still dropsical.. now i am resting as long as i can and putting some ice on it..
i´m 18 and i had surgery a month ago.. i had rehabilitation and i am still "working out"..i don´t play any sports..day afer the surgery i went home from hospital with my own legs, they didn´t let me to use any help while i was walking..it wasn´t hurting me while i was still under the narcosis..2 days after i couldn´t walk.. but i had to go back to school..so i started with rehabilitation..did it..
I Had my surgery done 3days ago and im still feeling pain they lied so hard "Within hours he went back 2work" bullshit i cant even walk without all this pain
I had my surgery 2 days ago and I'm going to be in crutches for 4 weeks, i torn mine by playing football. But is funny how quick the anesthesia kicks in. The doctor told me to count down from 100 i only got to 94 then everything when black and i woke up.
im 17 and i demolished my buckethandle miniscus and severed my acl.....then on top of that i kinda kept walking for a month or two before surgery...and im feeling the effects already
does it ok if i can walk?? it hurts but i can walk! on the football i fell down on my knee and it hurts me but i can walk! i just felt a click and i had paralise on that leg for 2-3 minutes!
ugh fuck..... im like shaking now, aha i have surgery on monday. i fucked up my cartilage bruised tib/fib and femur and chipped a bone off my knee cap. its been grinding for 3 months now. ugh, why did my doctor tell me to look this shit up im hella nervous now aha
i effed my knee playing football. the athletic trainer thought it was only torn meniscus.. but turns out, tore my ACL, chipped my femur, huge bone bruise, and torn meniscus.
had medial miniscus surgery about 2 weeks ago and i can limp around with and sometimes without a cane but its pretty annoying trying to get it back to normal. i know iim just at 2 weeks of recovery, but still, not fun at all.
You are definetly one of the lucky ones! I tore my RLM in 2003 and my MCL in 2007.I now have Grade 3 Arthrirtis and Osteoperosis. My job has been comprimised because of my injury and have to take heavy nrcotic based medication to rid myself of the pain.
I wish anyone the absolute best who sustains a knee injury, it just gets worse over time. I am 32 and too young to have a knee replacement at this point in time, but will be in the near future. Best of luck!
Is Bilateral knee contusions need surgery? please give me an advice regarding this matter because ireally want to know more about it because i want to help my mother because she got this injury when she got her industrial accident ...i can give more info about what happen... tnx please do help me on this matter.
ive got a lot of popping in my knee. ive been getting it looked at and nothing has shown on the x rays. but i wonder when i get my mri done next week. im sure thats the same thing thats wrong with me. i just hope i surgery if that happens for me will fix it.
i had my cartledge removed from my right knee 2 and a half weeks ago and i still cant walk.
i am only 15 years old and the surgeon said that because i had the whole medial meniscus removed that i will have athiritis when im older
i tore it playing aussie rules football and i wont be able to play again for 12 months, but football is my life, all the therepy i need to do will keep me out of the game for ages.
@siklilashy i agree with badmiojo but if football is that special to you theres still coaches who make buku money, announcers, the sports center people, etc. think outside the box or should i say think off the field. happens to the best of em gl
@siklilashy dude same here. i mean i can walk and everything and my got torn from wrestling but the doctors kept telling my that im gonna get arthritis when i get older. i didnt need therapy tho because i was so active the muscles around was strong enough to help support my knee in some ways. i jus got mine removed a week ago
Having been through 4 previous left-knee surgeries from the age of 16 to my current age of 38 (orthroscopic and microfracture surgeries) all I can say is that my knee has never been the same since my first initial surgery. Now, the only thing I have left to look forward to is orthoplasty (knee replacement) but not until I'm in my late 40's or early 50's. Hell, I'm medically retiring from my current government job as a result of a knee injury during my job. Take care of your knees!!!
I got knee surgery done on my right leg earlier this year (17 years old) and I had the whole meniscus removed. It sucks because now I have sharp joint pains in my knee and its still numb from the operation.
My doctor thought that I had a torn medial meniscus, (X-Ray/MRI)... But when he 'scoped it, it turned out to be "Sinovial Plica Syndrome"... He had to snip away lots of sinovial tissue... Much worse than a meniscal tear, I wouldn't wish it on my ex-wife...
im also having early osteoarthritis at the age of 19..i had done my surgery on 11th june for left knee meniscus repair...after a week of the surgery,i starts to walk to class using crutches ..it is really awful..huhuhu..and painful of course..my place is hilly and got lots of stairs..would it makes my knee becomes worse..???
I suffered an ACL"pop"tear in 2003 slipping on wire lubricant at work. The surgeon scoped the knee and I was back to work in 8 weeks.Over a degenerative 4 year period,re-tore my knee. According to the MRI,I tore my Right Lateral Meniscus, and MCL on July 31st 2007.After falling into a holding pattern between referrals and Doctors,WSIB etc, finally had surgery two weeks ago on May 2nd 2008. I hope eventually my ROM will come back and be able to have some quality left in my knee.Good luck everyone!
I made the surgery on my right knee last week. the surgeon remove at least 50%. One week after i still need crutches and have slight pain but i think i´m on the good way! :) I hope...
I go in two days to have both knees done. Like him I carry a lot on the frame, osteoarthritis in both and a candidate for knee replacement in 25 years. Yippee. #5 and 6 for me - need artificial cartilidge next time.

the anesthesia will only keep it's effect for 12 hours or less, so maybe that's the reason why your knee was aching that much
