this sound setup is meant for pop bands. paramore or green day sounds okay with no drums or bass and quiet lead guitar, the vocalist armed with more effects and amps than omar rodriguez-fucking-lopez. this doesnt work with prog metal. in prog, drums and bass are instruments, not metronomes for the people you actually hear to follow. they're all musical virtuosos, that's why it's called protest the hero and not rody and the backups.

This is probably the worst I've heard PTH perform. They are my favorite band and they are great live. I think it was because there wasn't any crowd. When there is a crowd they probably get pumped up before they play and they just do better because of the mood and atmosphere oh the venue therefor making them play way better.

I would agree about the level of energy. I personally would rather have a band be entertaining than play everything 100% perfect. Take "Foxy Shazam" ( i know completely different stytle of music ) for example, they are one of the most entertaining bands I've ever seen live and they still sound pretty frickin good.
