fiberT1D3 is lame and cost too much, you pay for services except what ohhh i have fast net. so what the rest of the world is still conecting at DSl/Cable speeds. T3.5 aka T3 US is different from normal T3 or euro D3, is the best because it uses high impending frequencies across phone lines, problems these connections are for mass calling/networking support (Corporate Industries) aka it cost alot.

best advice is enjoy what you have. or move to MN where they have 125mb lines.

Before I figured out what my computer problem was, the video your now trying to watch, all of 5:44 worth, took me 16:39 to download completely! @lontongss Do you mean 50 kbps, or 50 kBps? The uppercase B is bytes, the lower is bits, and bytes are 8 times as large (Or in this case, fast... kind of). Anyways, here are the possible problems: Your service provider is... well... ancient. Your modem isn't up to par with your service provider's speeds. Or, your computer's antenna isn't up to par with your modem, which, in this case, is assuming it is up to par with your ISP's speed. If not those, it's something misc.

Well, im currently with a wireless DSL modem, and my ISP is Bell Canada. My internet speed is above 512kb/s (this can vary due to server traffic). Im just looking around youtube for videos on how to boost my internet speed cuz I play loads of online games, and they tend to lag often. This is most likely due to my crap Graphics card, but if i can Optimize my internet speed, i figure that games will have better proformance.

Ok on internet providers usually they have services like, 256k, 1.5mb, 5mb, 10mb. Let me explain to you why this is not what it seems. MB either stands for Megabit or Megabyte. For every Megabyte there is 8 Megabits. Your paying for 1.24MBs you should be getting around 155kb-250kb. That "1.2MB" service you got on there site isn't megabyte. It's a megabit. This is something the average person doesn't know. It's there way into tricking you to get pay for the higher speed.

Use a converter, search in Megabyte Megabit Conversion in google and hit the top link. In the Megabyte box you'll put 1500KBs (1.5MBs) you should get around 180-190KB download speed.

You could be paying for 8Mbs but you'll only get 1MBs. 1 (1000KBs) megabyte = 8 megabits.

you no if u make ur IP adress static and you update your network adapter's drivers it usually makes your internet way faster. Really easy to do and it made my speed go from about 300kb/s to 4 mb/s

I have no idea you would have to call up your ISP but generally only large businesses have them as far as i know.... but if you change your settings on your router page and your IP settings on your pc in network settings you can get a similar increase in speed.
