I don´t mind the past, even the one of Tarja and Nightwish. It was great music, yes, and Nightwish itself are obviously not able to fill this gap,and, in my opinion, they will never be. The magic of Tarjas voice and her appearance on any stage on the world are simply fantastic. This is music and art on an extremely high level! She develops better and better. And I hope she will carry on.

The reason I'm happy is because one of the reasons they kicked her was because she no longer wanted to tour to America, and thats one among many reasons.
I saw her performing Over the hills... 2 years ago at Graspop and I was very pleased, but I really respect her solo material as well, though I prefer the heavier songs!

I also have slight correction, although she did get fired.... she had made plans with the band to leave the year after in 2006, she had also agreed to not release a solo album till after nightwish released there next new one.... @jose2adrian Because Tuomas, despite writing the song himself, despises it. Tuomas said when he finished this song that it was "the worst shit I've ever done." His words, haha. It's still on the official NW website in the studio-5 diary. I don't think it's TERRIBLE, but certainly not one of the great NW songs. There are many more that are stellar.

@ValeriaOceanSoul It's only on the North American version of Once. I think it was always intended to be a bonus track, because he called it a bonus track in that entry. The NA version, which I have, has this, Live to Tell the Tale, and the WIHAA video on it. Nice bonuses, even if they weren't as awesome as the rest of the album.

well she is still an amazing singer, and the second album shows just how damn good she is a s a writer , roll on the Nightwish album aswell, i loved Dark Passion Play and if the new album is as good as that opening track we should be in for a treat

@kat2156 If she wrote the song then I think it would be ok for her to sing it. It shouldn't be illegal. I'm pretty sure she wrote some of the songs from Nightwish. If she wrote it then it does belong to her originally.

@Blitzballgott Cover bands has to pay for rights to songs they perform otherwise is law breaking(and most of cover bands does it).She has rights to this songs because she wrote lyrics and vocal parts.She also has money from NW songs played in radio and by NW live even without her.

@MrThorn88 Did Tarja write lyrics? Because none of the nightwish CD booklet say that she did. I know she did the vocal lines though, but I don't think she contributed anything in a lyrical sense.

What the fuck she has the right to sing these songs!! She gave voice to the band for fucking 9 years, Tuomas never told her HOW to sing the words, he only gave her the lyrics. She has as much right to sing these songs as Nightwish has, you fucking moron.

I also have slight correction, although she did get fired.... she had made plans with the band to leave the year after in 2006, she had also agreed to not release a solo album till after nightwish released there next new one.... I guess all that went out the window when they fired her. ALTHOUGH she still kept her end of the deal and released "My Winter Storm AFTER "Dark Passion Play" was released. I LOVE that she beat them to the punch and the next release though!!!

@jose2adrian Because Tuomas, despite writing the song himself, despises it. Tuomas said when he finished this song that it was "the worst shit I've ever done." His words, haha. It's still on the official NW website in the studio-5 diary. I don't think it's TERRIBLE, but certainly not one of the great NW songs. There are many more that are stellar.

@ValeriaOceanSoul It's only on the North American version of Once. I think it was always intended to be a bonus track, because he called it a bonus track in that entry. The NA version, which I have, has this, Live to Tell the Tale, and the WIHAA video on it. Nice bonuses, even if they weren't as awesome as the rest of the album.

I feel Tarja so sad... so changed, so arrogant. I sorry for her. I love her, but she is different now. She is trying so bad, so hard, but the song, the voice doesn't flow from her as it used to when she was with Tuomas, with the band. Her best performance now would pale before her worst with the band in the past... It is so. She made the step "outside the innocent heart"...
