Ahh not to bad. Italians. NAZIS Germans and fucking French and Yanks pity they all did not die.
The captain did the right thing. I don`t know what all the fuss is about. The dead are only Europeans. Britian should of joined with Hitler and we should of cleared France and Italy.
Never mind maybe another boat will go down further out to sea and all the cunts die
@kunjidee, @Redharry48 What stupid and ridiculous comments! Italian have one of the richest and most fascinating history, arts and country in the world. Do some research!!! Are you american? Americans have the (truthful) reputation of being the most ignorant people in the world. Do some research!
@Mazunteful Now, you just did what they are all doing. Lumping ALL americans into one shitty put down. I'm American, and I'm pretty damned certain not many Italians would have done what this captain did.
This typical "brave Italian" captain should first be offered a pistol to take his own life, and if not... out to the courtyard where the firing squad is waiting.
I don't think people are thinking that about those from Italy, we all just can't believe this happend. I knew an exchange student from Italy, nicest person I ever met.
Just wondering if anyone here knows that refunds will be handed out to all the passengers? Also, additional compensation for destroyed luggage caused by the scum bag coward of a captain. Moreover, How dare he jump ship before all passengers do so. It's a protocol/code in the community of sea men that the captain is the last to abandon ship. Ask other boat captains, its true, they'll tell you it has been a code since the days of Columbus. His colleagues in the community all frown upon him. IDIOT
@bastymanguy Indeed, about €120.000/passenger. Right again when you say the captain is the last to abandon ship. However, and let's suppose he was coordinating the impossible (crew had no prep at all, captain alone and in the dark), how could he ever know how many men, women and children were still on board (as Commander Di Falco ordered) ??? Difficult task, wouldn't you say? Of course his greatest mistake was leaving the ship, no doubt... and he's going to pay for that.
The captain needs to go to jail for a looooong time.
Endangering lives, abandoning ship, making pathetic excuses for not returning to his ship, ignoring commands from the coast guard to help in the evacuation of his ship and not sufficiently advising crew members on the situation and how to deal with it.
@kunjidee I'm an italian girl and I'm very angry like you for what has happened, like every italian. The captain Schettino is first of all, a contemptible man and than, an Italian. you're wrong to think that every italian person is like him and for this i'm so sorry because it's not the truth
@vicentemf18 Its important to remember that incdences like this are very very rare. While this was happening there were other Cruise Ships elsewhere in the World that had a safe trip as normal. Not that I'm trying to trivialise this but its important to know that Cruise Ships are really very safe. This was Human Error I believe.
@soeffingwhat yeah I agree, and you wont believe this but on saturday 14 me and my family arrived from a cruise trip :S It went from Argentina to Brasil and to Argentina again, we were really shocked about this because this type of accidents are very rare ( just as u said) and we had just had a trip, luckily nothing happened to ours and we are just fine but still it impacted our lives very hard. Im very sad for the lifes that were lost...
@vicentemf18 its sad that none talks about the people that live on that island and what they did to help.....they gave all they had from food to shoes medicine tey opened their homes all the hotels where opened for the people who needed.....lets just talk about the black sheep
@Redharry48 Do you think, you Americans do not come here News 11? There was a conspiracy, yet you also know no one is allowed to judge the entire nazione.Schettino no different from your former president. stop it to define the Italians as if they were all Schettino. There are families who still seek the truth about the bombings, then the shame belongs as much to you. We have a culprit, and we know it, you know that there was a conspiracy and silent, silence and cowards you are
Rot in prison you cowardly Captain. Pigs have more courage and dignity than Captain Schettino. How can he live with himself, how has he not tried to kill himself by now with the shame of what he did. I could not bare to look in the mirror if I did what this cowardly rat did, I could not live with myself. This guy is not a man he is a stinking sewer rat, pond scum has more right to dignity than this sub-human animal. God bless those who died and indeed those who survived.
Jesus Christ, why do they keep blaming the crew? If the crew really did nothing, we'd have thousands dead. Hysterical passengers will be hysterical passengers, but they're alive. What more did they expect? A personal speedboat and champagne?
@Astepintooblivion From what I heard, none of the crew was properly trained. Most of the higher ranking crew members also just disappeared, and presumably fled. It was the lower ranking crew members and a bunch of ex-sailors among the passengers who eventually set the evacuation procedure in motion. "Blaming the crew" seems like a pretty valid action, as long as you target the right people.
@Astepintooblivion till' the last minute of evacuation the member of the crew from PHL, India, mostly asian countries whoi works as dishwashers, barmans, cook and kitchen aid are among the crew who proceeds the evacuations and personally checked cabins if there's passengers remained:
Why were the crew members jumping in the water? Aren't they trained to help get all the passengers off the ship safely and efficiently first then crew can depart second? I am so sorry for all those that lost friends and family, for the injured. My daughter and I prayed for all of you.
@Drobium77 they take out 4000 people in less than two hours...the captain was at side of the crew till nearly the end than he lives when more help was needed on the ground, the captain must leave when the ship sink but in this case it is just stuck...
Why were there not enough seats on the life rafts? Why was there no lighting in the corridors on the ship after it turned on its side? Why did the passengers have to fight over life jackets? Why didn't the staff and Captain wait until they were the last on board like they are supposed to? Seems not much has changed since Titanic!
