Moreover, How dare he jump ship before all passengers do so. It's a protocol/code in the community of sea men that the captain is the last to abandon ship. However, and let's suppose he was coordinating the impossible (crew had no prep at all, captain alone and in the dark), how could he ever know how many men, women and children were still on board (as Commander Di Falco ordered) ??? Difficult task, wouldn't you say? Of course his greatest mistake was leaving the ship, no doubt... and he's going to pay for that.

@vicentemf18 Its important to remember that incdences like this are very very rare. While this was happening there were other Cruise Ships elsewhere in the World that had a safe trip as normal. Not that I'm trying to trivialise this but its important to know that Cruise Ships are really very safe. This was Human Error I believe.

@soeffingwhat yeah I agree, and you wont believe this but on saturday 14 me and my family arrived from a cruise trip :S It went from Argentina to Brasil and to Argentina again, we were really shocked about this because this type of accidents are very rare ( just as u said) and we had just had a trip, luckily nothing happened to ours and we are just fine but still it impacted our lives very hard. Im very sad for the lifes that were lost...

@Astepintooblivion From what I heard, none of the crew was properly trained. Most of the higher ranking crew members also just disappeared, and presumably fled. It was the lower ranking crew members and a bunch of ex-sailors among the passengers who eventually set the evacuation procedure in motion. "Blaming the crew" seems like a pretty valid action, as long as you target the right people.

Why were the crew members jumping in the water? Aren't they trained to help get all the passengers off the ship safely and efficiently first then crew can depart second? I am so sorry for all those that lost friends and family, for the injured. My daughter and I prayed for all of you.
