I do not take this negatively, thank you for your response. You have some good points, and I know Mazda is not top in quality!

There is a CNBC documentary on Ford Motor Company called "Ford: Rebuilding an American Icon" which explains all of this nicely.

It airs: Monday, November 26 at 1am ET and Sunday, December 5 at 10pm ET

I hope you can watch or DVR it, it is a very good doc!

A waterfall grill (instead of the egg crate)and wrap around headlights with the turn signals on the outside edge (no pun intended) would have made the MKX a better looking vehicle. Not to mention the inclusion of a twin turbo 300hp ecoboost engine with flush air vents on the hood ... super sexy vehicle. I'm getting one!

I sorta like the MKX. I like the back of it. The front, not so much. I've not seen the interior of one. Other than that, its a pretty flashy looking car.

LOL and that's not like buying a Toyota SUV?! The MKX looks much better and out performs the Lexus and I believe buyers will be proud to drive an American designed car over a transplant rx350? Ford Motor Company has the best vehicles on the road: Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Mazda are all top in quality...

@FordGT8806 Well Jaguar and Land Rover is owned and designed by TATA motors of India for a while now. Ford only owns 13 percent of Mazda and I think are looking to sell Volvo. As for the qulity of those vehicles... Jaguar suffered under Ford designs, Volvos are not even considered as the worlds safest cars anymore, and Mazda is still "asian" designed. I own a Lexus GS300, Look to possibly own a MKX or Ford Edge. Flame me all you want.

@FordGT8806 Mazda top in quality? If you will allow me to chip in, Ford might be a great car in the American market, but overall, it was ford Europe(which was run as a separate company to Ford USA) which actually saved the brand because of the cars they(Europeans) designed. It is also the reason as to why ford has decided on one car strategy hence the new(here in the USA) focus. Please don't take it negatively but rather think it through.

@thisishellagay As a current Mercedes owner, I can honestly tell you the new MB models are shit when it comes to reliability and repairs..which is why I am now in the market for a Lincoln. MB may look nice..but unless your made of money, you won't appreciate all the breakdowns and ultra-expensive repairs they bring you. I've reached the point where enough is enough, and I'm tired of driving a car simply for it's looks and not it's reliability. Money doesn't grow on trees ya know.

@Nightbird Yeah, well I had an 86 Benz (420SEL) and though it was old it was the best car I have ever driven. My family now has a 94 SL500 which is actually good on reliability and an S320 from 95. The 86 was fairly expensive but with the 95 I can really see the increase in maintenance and lessening of reliability. So true, all of that sucks.. So just get a W126 with at least a 4.2l v8! I loved that thing so much. :( (Not manipulating this or anything but if you want to see it, check my channel)

My mom would have gotten a navi l had they made the front dash look like this one. Sorry ford ya skanks. She got a ESV. I personally am lookin for another car. I have a continental gtc but need an SUV with room for friends. Since i have money is a Range Rover the obvious choice when everyone in my community has one? Can anyone with a similar problem help? What should i get? (negitive comments are not welcome keep them to yourselfs.)

well i hav this car and its great ( im 16 tho.. a guy also ) but if i were to get another car and wouldent hav a problem with money which i dont i would get a Mercedes ML 350 suv or BMW M5 or M3, i like the Audi also, btu the new Range Rover is pritty awsome. I hop I helped you.

Jose, the mercedes will only give you headaches, less gas mileage than the lincoln (i swear), and remember this, the lincoln is one of few that dont need premium fuel which the mercedes most definitely does.

Is..... not hearing anything from the outside when windows are closed hazardous to ambulances and firetrucks, since you can't hear them coming ? It probably wouldn't surprise me if I hear about a Lincoln MKX smashing onto an oncoming rushing ambulance in an intersection.

Well, happy birthday then!

One isn't necessarily better than the other. I don't think you're interested in resale value, so best is to take them both for a spin ( performance, road holding, interior, try to park it...) To me buying a car is an emotional thing; never mind the specs.

It's just like buying a coat; look at yourself in it, in the reflection of a large shopwindow.

Choose the one you feel most comfortable in ;-)

Read the comparison in Motortrend from about two months ago with the RX350, MDX, X5, and MKX. They say that the MKX can't even compete within it's class. The car may accelerate, but it's interior is sub-par and it turns like a boat.

Very nice - baby navigator; decent mileage for its class too. I like it better than the Japanese lot: different in a good way.

I like the mkx for the reason that it looks like no other luxury crossover..I dont care for the name I think they should have stuck with something more Lincolnish ..But when you think of how much cheaper it is compared to its rivals A minor name annoynce is easily over looked
