  • I just bought this a couple weeks ago - it's gonna take a little getting used too but has been picking up r22 and 410a right away, just don't really know the purpose of the turbo mode I didnt see anything in the book it came with

  • How do you pinpoint a leak if it's moving? How close to the leak do you need to be for it to sense it? New refrigerant oil has no refrigerant residue in it- try it with used oil.

  • i own this leak detector. Ive also owned inficons and JB leak detectors. This is one is far and away the best one. I do have a question though. Turbo mode. You really never explained what the difference was between it and normal mode. Im sure it was in my booklet but you know us HVACR guys. We know it all! lol

  • Great Demo!!!!

  • After a lot of reading, and asking around, I'm sold on infrared. This video solidified my decision on the Fieldpiece SLR2. Nice video!

  • @chopperguy2 Thanks Chopper. After all of our tests we believe this is THE best handheld leak detector on the planet. If you have any questions just give us a call.

  • This IR detector is the first leak hound I bought (for myself). I am completely spoiled. I have used a few heated diode types for short periods of time but never acquired the 'feel' for them. The infrareds are more user-friendly (in my opinion). Swiping over a suspected leak in an 'X' pattern makes pinpointing it a bit quicker.

  • @PutSome5tankOnIt Thanks for the feedback. The Infrared leak detectors are in fact superior leak detectors. But you are right that they act a little different than Heated diodes. So the guys who swear by heated diodes haven't developed the "feel" for the infrared.

  • very cool...
