  • kfx all the way man yfz dont have enough power

  • Im stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm looking at this same quad and an 08 yfz 450se and Idk what to buy. I'm 260lbs and its "striving" for more power Idk. Damn Idk what to do.

  • @my1e32 as i said in my last reply i was going to buy an 08 yfz450 at Atlantic motoplex in moncton cuz they are on sale, but they are carb and have no reverse. to be honest the 08 and earlier models of the yfz are out dated and just dont hold up and respond like new efi bikes. the kfx has 4 hp less then the yfz stock. but with the same upgrades to both bikes and they are side by side in power. the kfx main problem is the intake. stock intake is starving. you fix that with an aftermarket one and

  • @Tiddler19 thanks man i was leaning twards the kfx i want fi and reverse, i was looking at 700 raptors because i have a 660 and i love reverse!!!! but i want something more agile and not something so bulky and heavy to rip around an mx track... my buddy who used to race is yfz all the way but no fi or reverse.,.. thanks for the input hopefully soon ill be goin to see about financing and see if i can get it home!!! if so ill reply with a video!! and its the same exact quad as whats on this video

  • @my1e32 check out my new vid with the upgrades. with a few hundred dollars you really wake them up from lazy stock.

  • @my1e32 ... you will be laughing. im 160 lbs and it feels like riding a 450 mx bike. every gear just press the throttle and your standing. but between an 08 yfz and the kfx450r i would strive for the kfx, and you wont believe how nice reverse is! i usually have three or 4 different bikes and sleds each year and i plan on keeping the kfx for atleast a few years. im very glad with it. i would recommend a kfx450r.

  • ill be honest. im a yamaha guy to the grave, and i had my eyes set on the yfz, but efi and reverse were both on the kfx plus the plastics and the whole look is unique.

  • haha im posting from my work youtube account soo

  • sweet,....how do you find this bike? stock and with the aftermarket stuff? I have a raptor 700 but am moving and it is going to be too costly to ship it to where im moving too.... I been looking at bike now and seems to be a good choice from what people say.... how does it do in trails and mud and stuff like that.

  • @fox259 its a great bike, but stock i was disappointed. it was starving for more power. it still would pull up in all gears like a dirtbike, but it just felt held back vastly. but the intake , full system pipe and controller really woke it up. like an incredible hp gain. stock is about 36hp, i am grabbing around 45+hp now and nothing can touch it. super fun bike all around and reverse is a gift. i would recommend this bike for anyone. plus they are known as the toughest 450 on the market.

  • @Tiddler19

Thats awesome...I been always a yamaha guy but when this kfx came out it really caught my eye and I find the yfz 450s are a little low sitting for my liking.. I know they are ment for racing now haha. I like how the kfx looks and the full deal... Thanks for the info you made my choice very easy haha.

  • Yes you will need a fuel controller with the slip on pipe. If you do not you can risk the bike running either too rich or too lean......too rich is better then having it run too lean. The same goes for header pipe and even same with a new air intake stuff like that.

  • @fox259 yeah i now have a Dobeck TFI on it now with F/S Phoenix exhaust, K&N velocity intake, and risers on it now.
