@deathblade7 try using the half-rack foldback distortion and a compressor for the squash and dirt, respectively. Idk if it's in Reason 4 because I'm a 5 user, but those two modules in series will make a decent substitute for Pulveriser.
I'm using reason 4 here, can anyone help me out with substitutes for the pulveriser and the patch used in the malstrom? im using 2StepBass in the malstorm, but i copyed all the setting that are used in the video. So basically a subsitute for the pulveriser.
@HCShuffle if by "hard style" you mean a heavier, punchier 'boom' kick with floor shaking capabilities; EQ the treble frequencies down by10/15db (depending on the kick's sound) at around 1.5kHz with as low a Q as possible. Then raise the bass frequencies, at around the 175/250hz mark by about 5db (too much increase here can cause clipping). You should already hear it starting to pump here. Now just apply some compression, subtly for more natural or harshly for a nice squished sound...
Nice tutorial :-) A quick tip: When I add a fifth to a synth I usually also add +2 cents. This is because the chromatic scale does not have a perfect fifth. The ideal 3:2 pitch would be around 701,96 cents, but 702 gets close enough. Might not make a big difference for those rich waveforms, but for simpler waveforms such as in the subtractor I find that it really makes a difference :-)
@jfunkfinger69 mwahahahaha you got it for 1 euro. us americans got it for 1 dollar. we got it for cheaper! I knew our fucked up economy would come in handy one day :D
@WoeIby Feel free to use Scream or the MClass Compressor instead of Pulveriser. We always do tutorial content for the latest version of our software though. :)
@deadithink the programming for you ? hahah u still need to program the sound the only difference is u dont need to be a rocket scientist to get half a decent sound from the synth get real and work smart the sound coming out of reason is forced you need to engineer the sound beyond belief its ridiculous!

Is anyone having issues with latency and audio glitches with reason 6? I'm running a Mac pro 15" quad 2.2 with 4gb of ram and Mac is 10.7.2
cja1782 2 months ago
@cja1782 Check how your audio interface is set up and try different settings for the buffer size. That might help!
