  • Fuck, I love Silkworm.

  • Where can I get my hands on a copy of this?!?!?

  • @moralyson I dont think it's out yet, hopefully sometime this year.

  • Silkworm is the best thing to ever come out of Montana. Also, it is the only thing I've ever known to come out of Montana. But I bet if I knew anything else from Montana it wouldn't touch Silkworm anyway.

  • Is this ever going to come out. I gave money to this project twice and have been anxiously awaiting its release. This is either the he 'ishtar' of indie rocumentary's or just a flat scam. Video editing is, no doubt, a grind, but three years from starting the editing stage and there's nothing to show?

    This band deserves much better.

The music and story of this band is epic and it deserves more than some film-school's 'goat' student who spends more time on paypal than creating footage.

  • I'll buy a copy of this the day it comes out.

  • I would like to check this out

  • THE OPERATIVE / HIS MARK REPLIES: watch?v=SEXtZzwj0uQ

  • is this ever coming out?

  • Is this movie actually going to be made? I'd like to see it, I know OF Silkworm from a friend, but don't really know them.

  • i cannot wait to see this...

  • "Killing my Ass" from Silkworm's album "Firewater" is on the of greatest rock songs I've ever heard.

  • michael dahlquist was my uncle and i saw that concert that starts at :32 . it was at the emp.

  • I met your uncle once...loved the guy. One of the nicest musicians I've ever met and one of the most joyous drummers I've ever seen.

  • Is this documentary still coming out? Hargrovehouse, do you know when it might be out? Thanks

  • does anybody know what the song is that starts playing at 2:30!!?

i'm definitely going to check this documentary out.

  • That's "His Mark Replies." It's kind of the second half of a song called "The Operative." Both on It'll Be Cool. Michael is playing guitar instead of drums on this one.

  • Thanks!

  • Can't wait for this, totally can't wait.

  • Only saw them once (Firewater tour) but they changed my opinions greatly about music and the importance of thinking outside the box.

  • the thing about Henry James made me crack up. In my English class, all these kids showed up one day wearing Coldplay shirts (they'd been in town the night before) and that same day we had to read a bit of one of James' novels in class. Guess which students bitched that we should be reading something "good like Twilight" instead...hahaha whatever, Silkworm is the shit

  • great band...sadly, this is too similar to the story of many amazing musicians..they write truly beautiful songs and work their asses off recording, promoting, and relentlessly touring with their bands and never gain the recognition they deserve...meanwhile, i can't even turn on the radio without being fed the latest manufactured los angeles flavor of the month crap by a loudmouth corporate meat puppet DJ.

  • There was a Malkmus & the Jicks show at which Malkmus decided to do nothing but Pavement songs. Near the end he said, "I'm gonna call up some friends of mine, the guys from Silkworm."

One guy cheered enthusiastically into the ensuing silence. That guy was me.

And when they picked up the Jicks' instruments and kicked in, Malkmus's eyes widened and he took a step back...because the sound was so much louder and harder. It was beautiful.

  • damn, i would of loved to have been at that show.

  • @JonMGilbertson

I wish I would have been there for that one. Silkworm was my favorite band for a number of years. I was bummed when Joel Phelps left the band. Needless to say devastated when I caught wind of Michael's tragic death. I saw Silkworm play an amazing show at The Satiricon in Portland Or in the late 90's. It was Michael's birthday. In the middle of the set Michael's parents brought out a birthday cake for him. He blew our the candles, hugged his parents and went back to rocking.

  • I couldn't agree more. love skwm. RIP mike.

  • Wow, wow, wow. I can't tell you how excited I am about this film. I loved Silkworm so much from the Joel Phelps days to them becoming a trio. Amazing and unique band.

  • Wow. I saw them for the first time in a basement, but Also saw them as Ein Heit in '85. That was my high school band, straight from Hellgate High!!

Psyched that a movie is being done. I might even be in it if some of the old Down Under footage makes the cut!

  • 2/24/08-Sam Velede does it again. I was looking for 'Bluebird' and found an Sam's interview about 'Silkworm'. I just wated a bunch of their stuff. Wow. The band represents regular people and great great music..raw. The 'Touch And Go' owner/guy said it write. I'm glad I just discovered 'Silkworm' before he goes on that killing spree. -Don "Foosh" Fuschetti

  • god, that was a bit heart wrenching. looks to be fantastic.

  • I love this band.

  • Bring it! Soooo under appreciated. Cannot wait to see this.

  • love this band

  • Love the Worm!

  • this is going to be awesome.

  • They're taking donations for the completion, so chip in if you can. There's a link on Pitchfork's blurb on the project. SKWM FTW

  • Whatever happened to the bitch that ran into the car that killed the Drummer?

She had a fight with her mother and decided to go about 100mph right into the car killing 3 - Drummer included.

  • She's being tried for murder... the trial just started a couple days ago (October 15, 2007)

  • this is going to be so f'ing killer...it's about time and no, i can't wait...

  • This is definitely a must see. I love this band.
