Do you have any Charlie Scott on channel 39. late seventies to early 80s I think. My wife thought he was wonderful. I thought he was OK and a up and comer. Thanks for the memories. Things were nicer in those days. Simple and without conflict. Just real people reporting whats happening.
Thanks for this. I appeared on Mary Jane Vandiver's talk show.."Calendar" and then a later version of a morning show..about 20 times in the 1970's-early 80's -- a magic act. And the wonderful Pat Brown. Great memories.
I remember the old channel 39 logo and Mary K Isaacs and Clark Ervin ... these were the days in the early 70's when cable was coming out and Channel 39 was one of the stations in the BEAUMONT area that I enjoyed watching.
Wow.... this is one big flashback for me. Thanks for putting all the video up! I'm old enough to remember seeing the old "dots" logo on TV and actually turning a knob on the set to change the channel! Not to mention you could barely get a good signal of 39 in Galveston back in the 70s. I hope to see more classic stuff in the future!
I grew up watching Houston Wrestling. What memories! I would like to see and hear the Lord's Prayer that they played at the end of each broadcast day. (At least I THINK it was Channel 39). I also remember watching Speed Racer and I Love Lucy. Some episodes of which I have never since seen!
It was KHOU 11 that did the Lord's Prayer at the end of the day. 39 ran the national anthem. I remember it because for some reason that performance of the lords prayer scared the bejesus out of me as a kid!
this sure brought back some good memories...thanks for posting. Although the lip sync is about a mile off....Lori Tucker looked great. the girl at 8:30 wore such a hidious red tie LOL...I love it thanks Again!
I fell in love with Patty Hearst on the kids news in the afternoons.

"Kuulani at 3:13 and "Sharon" at 12:30 bear a striking resemblance to each other.

Wow that's amazing. I usually only watched cartoons and wrestling on KHTV. It's great to see this.

Wonder what type of test pattern was used by Channel 39 in its first years as KHTV.
