I know it's not kinda related to figure skating but I am super "out" in music, I just wanna ask what is the song playing in 0:58 I hear it everyday in the radio but I never figure out what is the name of that song. :) I am also a figure skater, I am in fs4, I used to practise my sit spin, but my coach wants me to do the outside backward pivot/privot, anyways, I haven't done it ages ago, and I AM STUCKED... gosh.. anyways, it would be nice if u reply this comment. You're skating for a great cause :) You're doing great spirals with the ribbon. And the last spin was really good. I think this will be a great numer :)
That looks fun! I guess 28/05 I have club's exhibityion! Doing three programs! One with a group to Mambo No5, then one solo (my short program for next season to Glenn Miller Medley) and then a pair program with a girl to music of pirates! My sis is goin to freak out! She's addicted to pirates!
umm... no, it's not.... haircutters are done same hand, same foot... and held to the head, not extended... hence the name "haircutter".. there's no such thing as a haircutter spiral.
Did you try laybacks with ribbon? It seems like that would work and be awesome looking. Or split jumps! That would be AWESOME. Anyway, it looks hard. Good luck in the show!
I think its a really lovely idea how your skating with the ribbons! im glad your doing it for a good cause, my ice rink is doing a sponsered ice skate this sunday for a school in africa, 100 laps of the rink! not as fun as yours, but its the thought that counts! xxx

I've never skated with a ribbon... but I can imagine I'd just end up wearing or eating it too! hahaha

I once saw Shizuka Arakawa use a ribbon in a show. I hadn't realized it was so difficult! And her ribbon was really long o.o

@butterbat Yeah, our ribbons are pretty long also, I just tied mine in half for practice. :P It's a lot more difficult than the skaters make it look!
