It's actually a semitic language called Tigre. It evolved from Ge'ez the original afro-semitic language. Besides Ge'ez, Semitic gave rise to Hebrew, Aramaic, various Assyrian languages, Nabatean, and many Yemenite languages. Ge'ez was the dominant language in both the Yemen and Abyssynia during the age of the Axumite Empire. Tigre is the Ge'ez in its purest form followed by Tigringna which is spoken in both Eritrea and Ethiopia, and Amharingna which is the lingua-franca of Ethiopia.

Who told you Tigre are the same with Oromo?Tigre speakers of Eritrea are cousins with Tigrigna speakers of Eritrea. Both Tigre and Tigrigna speakers have common ancestral background. And yes Tigre are also related to Bejas but not to Oromos.
