Hey I lost 10 pounds only by counting how many calories I was eating/day & doing some exercice.Also, avoid FAT& SUGAR. bananas and grapes are the worst fruits: bananas have a lot of fat,sugar and calories. Grapes, a lot of sugar. Banana chips and almonds? Again, I don't find it a super smart choice. look on the back of what u buy and look for LOW FAT&LOW SUGAR & by doing exercice (same intensity&lenght/ same day(s) of the week- u can lower the lenght if u keep intensity)
hey, im a personal trainer, so obviously i know a bunch about weight loss. first off, bananas may be high in sugar, but are also high in potassium, something ur body needs. grapes r the same thing, but they are high in anti-oxidants. i agree with low fat, but u need some to get ur body through the day. banana chips are dried, so the sugar content is actually higher. almonds, however, are great for a diet, very high in protein. with bmi, once you reach a certain point, it not longer is accurate.
Losing weight when you're not the one who buys the groceries for the house is really hard! I remember doing that when I was in high school, and it sucked!
you should be seeing how healthy your weight is based on how tall you are, not on your age. If you're 14, but you're 6'2", you need to weigh more than someone who's 14 and 5'3", you know?

Her thinking is wrong, and potentially unhealthy. If she weighs 130, and she's 5'10, that's too thin. If she weighs 130, and she's 4'8, then she's overweight.
BMI is a way to estimate what a healthy weight goal would be. The calculator just does the math for you. it doesn't do the "thinking," just an estimation.
Being serious 130 is fine for your age. Just try to eat healthier is all you need at this point. You have growing still to do and your body needs nutrition, so dont go only any silly crash or fad diets. Get plenty of exercise and sleep. One good thing for teenagers to stay away is the pop. I wish someone would of told me when I was a teenager to trade up pop for like green tea,white tea or herbal teas they are great for you. You already look great.:)

i think it's better to get roasted almonds that are lightly salted. they're almost just as healthy as the almonds you bought, but taste much better.

130 pounds looks way different for someone who is 5'1 compared to 5'6 which is a somewhat normal range for her age bracket

i find this hard to believe, i am of that height, and at 118 i am not skinny, instead of muscle i have fat/flab :/
im not saying she is overweight, but i wouldnt say 130 is healthy unless she is eating healthy, working out, and has muscle rather than fat.
