Beautiful!! Thank you for putting this information out there. So many are unaware of horse slaughter and the cruel treatment of these noble creatures prior to slaughter. Horse people must educate the public. In my opinion, anyone considering breeding horses should seriously contemplate the issue before doing so. Over population of equine is becoming very similar to overpupulation of dogs and cats. We must be very careful not to create the same problem in the equine world.

I know a lady who has a friend that rescued a pregnant mare....... they waitied for days on end for the foal to arrive...... unfortunately, when the little one did arrive it had severe deformities, and i was told the placenta was a greenish color. The foal had to be put down, the mare is fine tho..... This mare and foal are gorgeous.... take good care of them!

a lot of the time somone wont send their horse to slaughter. they might take them to an auction to be sold, then the horse slaughter person will buy the horse. a lot of the time the owner didnt mean for it to end that way.

if that was you, or even if it was someone else, who resued that beautiful mare, just think.

if she was not rescued, that little foal would not be born. if the foal is a filly, or a colt who willl stay a stallion(not a gelding), and the mare was slaughtered, there is tons and tons of generations of great horses(and maybe some legends) wasted. how sad is that? think about it.

Pregnant mares were and still are shipped all the time, so are horses with broken legs and soo skinny they can hardly stand up. HR/503 an S/311 need to be passed, contact your Senators and Congressmen to sponsor these bills and get them passed!!! This will close the loopholes such as being able to ship horses across the border to slaughter!!
