  • Grunge were a group of bands not a genre their will never be grunge again because their will never be another AIC Soundgarden Nirvana Pearl Jam etc.

  • Let's all move to Seattle and play some Grunge!

  • the way i see it, rock music in the 80's and 2010's wasn't bad, the good stuff was just underground. music media & record labels weren't willing to take risks. in the 80's you had sonic youth, dinosaur jr, all the bands on sst & sub pop etc, last decade awesome innovative bands like boris and comets on fire did some of their best work, and its been a golden age for psychedelic & 'experimental' bands. scratch beneath the surface, get involved =)

  • Goddamn....Chris and that long hair of his he used to have....Gives me chills....I love Chris Cornell!

  • I want this song played at my funeral.

  • It's simply the best band in the world!

  • @ch00089 agreed.....

  • soundgarden isnt grunge its godly

  • @wilhelmizer agree also

  • aic can't carry sg's bags.

  • who are the bitches with the 2 thumbs down?

  • at 1;16 Chris Cornell looked like he threw up. lol poor guy haha

  • @MKUltimate3

I think he blew his wonderful hair out of his face with his mouth..

    Use common sense.

  • @DimebagsLeftToe Dimebag, I don't know who you are, but I'm feeling exactly what you're feeling. I think this everyday. It's not me being cocky, it's me being confident in the future. I can already tell you'll create something great, and I know I will. I'm only an 18 year guitar player from Iowa, but I've been conjuring up some pretty wicked stuff the last few years. Now I just need people/band to collaborate with.. I promise you all, good is to come.

  • @ippiman shit man, you got me pumped. im ready. is there any way i could see this shit?

  • @ippiman PLEASE, bring it on, let it out!! This generation needs true rock-n-roll!!

  • Holy shit, something about Cornell's voice in this performance, it's more epic than usual!

  • Soundgarden rocks...and Chris Cornell is a genius!!!Kim Thayil is the coolest guitarist from the 90's!!!!

  • i heard that chris would have hiro sing Flower live almost always.

  • Chris is possesed... and has cool earrings!

  • @pigeonapocalypse

haha and not to forget the most beautiful man ever !!

  • i luv how chris avoided the octaves up. it's part of the s g brilliance.

  • good to see kids into real music, dimebagslefttoe go for it, light the fucking world on fire with something new that still pays its respects to the old. you have all us oldskool rock fans chanting for ya.

  • @dieorgetfucked Fucking right!! RAWK and ROLL!!

  • The tempo! So profesional.

  • Rock will always be, even in times not much "mainstream exposure" people will always make rock. Try Dead Meadow, they've been round for a while, really seventies kind inspired music. I love Soundgarden!

  • theres just something about music that PEOPLE make, and by people i mean the artists playing it not some songwriters that give songs to these shitty bands that are around now, a new decade is coming up and i hope rap goes down and these shitty bands break up and real music can return

  • dude, if youre in, im in. the teens of the new millennium is the decade where this type of awesome rock will come back. men will be men, music will be made. ill be on the front lines, hope youll all be there, hope ill be making music with you all. the 80s (mostly) sucked but the 90s ruled, its a pattern see. real music will return and all these shitty bands will be out of business because everyone will want awesome rock.

  • if youve got a band we should gig together definitely

  • well, first of all im getting ahead of myself. im 16, live in orange county, dunno what your situation is, yeah i jam with a few guys but nothing huge, just saying its my plan

  • good to see I'm not the only one who is trying to help bring real music back. I'm expecting something amazing to come into the music scene this new decade, and eliminate all the crap that is considered music nowadays

  • @DimebagsLeftToe Dimebag, I don't know who you are, but I'm feeling exactly what you're feeling. I think this everyday. It's not me being cocky, it's me being confident in the future. • @DimebagsLeftToe I hope I'll be right there with you :D And you're right..think about it, late 60s and 70s kicked ass mostly, then the 80s mostly sucked, early 90s brought it back, and it left again. this backwards culture is ready for a change. lets give it to them!

  • @DimebagsLeftToe totally with you on that one man. I go to the university of iowa, and soundgarden is what helps me get through my day. i play guitar, and hopefully this heavenly music will skyrocket soon.... i cant take much more of this stupid synthisized shit

  • @DimebagsLeftToe I SO hope you are right.....I expose my kids (ages 13 & 16) to the 90's grunge music all the time........

  • @DimebagsLeftToe Agree.... The "Mainstream 80s" sucked....

  • I'm planning to grow my hair out as long as his. so far, it's down below my chin. i can't wait 'til it's as long as chris'!

  • I still remember the first time I heard this song. I didn't really like the beginning and then the 0:15 second mark hit and it was just freakin' awesome and I listened to it over and over.

  • s.smith got it right fuking rap fuking suX

  • fantastic!

  • Perfeito...

  • You don't see performances like this anymore. Damn rap music!

  • absolutely fuukin awsome song..

  • i'm probably going to sound gay for saying this...but it's quite a shame that Cornell cut his hair, it was quite lovely when it was that long...

  • i'm a guy, but i agree it looked great... back then when Badmotorfinger came out (some 17 years ago or so), i stood on my balcony in minuses/December with long hair watching my breath in the air imitating Cornell with his powerful stage-antics... what a band that was!! curious what screams he produces on his brand new 'Scream'... none of those, prbly...

  • soundgarden and alice in chains are the best grunge bands in my opinion.

  • OF ALL TIME!!

  • heck ya man!

  • @pawnshopr Completly agree with u

  • @pawnshopr

    Agreed!

  • Comment removed

  • @PanterAmetal100 - That ain't metal dumb shit! Get yourself some Slayer bitch!

  • @heckfricker Shut the fuck up and get the life, bitch! Slayer can suck my ass, i prefer Dark Angel!

  • @pawnshopr AiC is not grunge in my oppinon... Soundgarden, Mudhoney and Nirvana are real Grunge Bands....

  • @Nirvaaanaa I feel that the label of grunge seems describes a time and a place instead of the music. I mean Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam all have pretty different styles

  • @pawnshopr i agree!!!!!!

  • I get it.Solomon in all his glory was not arayed like a single one of them. Flower.

  • guitar needs to be louder

  • Yeh! Hair-metal took a real beating by these guys. Guys like Metallica obviously struck gold though with a more mainstream musical approach with the black album. (cant argue with teh salesfigures of the black album :))

  • I always wondered what kind of people could actually identify with hair-metal, all those bands seemed so full of themselves & most of their songs where about how great they thought they were & how many silly groupies they had done.

I think bands like Soundgarden won out because they had the human element & they were regular people like you or i, instead of being MTV cartoon characters like Bon Jovi or poison...

They made people believe that you could make music on your own terms again..

  • ya true except bon jovi still ended up damn more sucsessfull then poison haha

  • kick ass tune. Yup, after listenning to this live I see why Cornell complains so much about Ultramega OK production, it really sucks.

*Check Loose Ground for some new Rock/Grunge*

  • Metal is the best... I like grunge but metal is the best. Not new growl/scream shit, I'm talkin old metal. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica

  • Good shout.

  • grunge is metal in particular the bands soundgarden and alice in chains they are metal, grunge was just the name of the scene though some bands from the grunge scene were more punk than metal, like screaming trees and nirvana

  • Grunge basically took over metal in the 90s. Metal was still big, but not commercially like grunge eventually became. Metal is making a big come back though, Priest making a new album, Motley Crue new album, Sabbath new album.

  • hmm... well yes Nirvana has punk influence, but Screaming Trees and for example Pearl Jam have blues-rock influence like Cream, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Soundgarden too; sorry for my poor English...

  • AIC has the biggest blues influence in all of "Grunge"

  • i'd say Alice's influence is more metal than blues, but then again it all goes back to blues so you could always argue that :)

  • moreso than Pearl Jam?

  • i dont know what he just say

  • they say soundgarden ahs the biggest Black Sabbath influence and style. that was the best thing about grunge all bands derived from great ones to make others. all the while yet so diverse in their group. grunge is the shit!!!!

  • dont ever put grunge in the same line as screamo

  • i did say that u think its like screamo i said dont put grunge in the same sentence which you did...

  • oh. haha. now i get it

  • You're right about that..This is "real rock/grunge" But pearl jam is really good too, they play "real grunge" nickelback ain't grunge though..

  • anyone know whats written on matts snare?

  • i think its a set list

  • sounds right

  • "Flower" is one of the best Soundgarden songs, & one of the best Grunge songs.

No offence to Pearl Jam Or erm..Nickleback, but THIS is real grunge, & this is real Rock n roll, so the music industrey needs to get a grip!!

  • Please don't ever mention Pearl Jam and Nickelback in the same sentence. Pearl Jam is second to Soundgarden. Matt Cameron wouldn't be their drummer otherwise.

  • I love this song, but this version is too slow

  • in my opinion, their best song

  • How do u download this and put it into your itunes?

  • I love how they do the opposite of what most bands would do live (speed up their songs), it sounds so much more bad ass when slowed down cus they let all the sound just resonate naturally.

  • yeah and there's a real swagger about matt cameron's drummin too...lazy but cool, haha

  • yea the whole song sounds slowed down and its probably cuz of the drum stye

  • Yeah, it's definitely the drums. He starts the song... That's why.

  • awesome dude! i've never seen this version of flower

  • wow sooo gooood!

  • mighty music !!!!

  • all of 17feen teeeeeeen!!! love it reell grunge reeell rocc

  • Always one of my favs! Thanks! This was soo different at the time & no one, to this day has come close to pointing music in a new direction the way the seattle grunge groups did!

  • I love how the bass sounds in this... classic Soundgarden.

Thank you for posting the vid! ^^

  • Thanks for posting the videos!!! They're amazing!

  • That riff is fuckin' metallic beauty

  • Friggin' awesome.

  • i FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG

    SOUNDGARDEN RULES

  • Cant hear Kim here at all. This is about Badmotorfinger era, yes? Chris' got a more soulful style then. Is that Everman on bass?

  • Nope, pre-Badmotorfinger. Chris had grown his mustache/goatee by the time BMF came out. And yes, that's Everman.

  • It reminds me of listening to music when I'm drunk.

  • That's what Im doing right now..having a great time!!! Soundgarden kicks ass!!!!

  • Beside the fact that this rocks, there seems to be some kind of 'swing' too, because of the lower speed. I couldn't describe in other ways.

  • i know exactly what you mean man, i thought the same thing. also, the way matt's playin the drums creates that too, the beat's not the same as on the cd, not exactly anyway

  • Yeah, the slow rhythm and riff creates some sort of swagger to the whole thing. Topped off with Chris's voice.

  • The term is "groove" when you're talking about heavier music. If you like that, try Pantera.

  • Yeah, groove is the word. I wouldn't say that term can be used only for heavier music. Talking of which, the second part of Domination by Pantera has excellent groove.

  • the best heavy groove band is kyuss

    KYUSS!!!

  • no ways, Helmet.

  • Sorry, I have to go with Kyuss, Helmet is awesome too.

  • Kyuss has Space Cadet. Helmet doesn't. Discussion ended.

  • "Flower" from Ultra Mega OK since 1988, "Space cadet" from Welcome to sky valley since 1994 ¿?.

  • Very tight performance.

  • One of my favourite songs from Old SG,what an energy!

    Amazing

  • Awesome!

  • YES!

  • Grunge! Grunge! Grunge!
