Too upbeat for stage select, IMHO. Get Weapon or password screen (or rather, Continue screen) would be my preference. Again, it's another very versatile song.

This is a pretty catchy theme you've got here! Kind of reminds me of MM6 or something. I'd consider using it or the 1st tune you came up with, maybe both, depending on how many SS's the game has in it.
