Concordo com o que a Rimarah disse: infelizmente a dança do ventre não é valorizada como arte no Egito, lá ela tem teor puramente sexual. Ainda que na platéia haja uma ou outra pessoa de fora que vem assistir às bailarinas por sua técnica, a grande maioria frequenta estes night clubs e shows dos hotéis como divertimento erótico. Não sei em q condições a Soraia trabalha, mas esse glamour da dança no Egito é ilusório, vide a maioria das que dançam desnudas!

I saw her in June of 2006 in Cairo & she was the very finest act I saw there, very talented, very professional, & full of heart... 3 costume changes & at the end she took the table from the drummer & drummed them all for a loop! Exquisite!
Unfortunately dance here in Egypt is not appreciate it should be. Today even on TV when you see a little piece of dancing is with sex intention, and the dancers or the artist who plays the dancer part always has that hore face, so what do you think people will say...plus after Dina everything got worse, all those new dancers trying to copy her dancing almost naked...Disgusting.
These shows are very expensive so most Egyptians cannot go, but the biggest reason is the conservatism that is sweeping the country. On a recent trip to Cairo I saw a wonderful dancer, Nanci, at the Grand Hyatt. She has since been banned from dancing there because the hotel is owned by Saudis and they don't want such things polluting their hotel and the morals of their guests. My advise is, if you love Egyptian bellydance, go now before it is gone.
After watching Sadie, this is much of anything. I'm sorry but she just looks like she is shimmering and not belly dancing. Love watching Sadie.
