I was thinking an hour late is nothing. There's daylight even!...Then I realized I always take this train at Christmas when the evening is already dark. Seems like it arrives between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. No parlour car! Where do the first class passengers get to socialize? What about the afternoon wine and cheese party? Sheesh! The whole fun of the train is meeting the people and commenting on the scenery!
I'm also concerned about the lack of Pacific Parlour Cars on some of the Coast Starlights. I'll be taking the Starlight on Friday and fear that, once again, it will be Parlour-less. (I've ridden the Starlight twice before; both times the train had no Parlour Car.) :-(

Actually, Train 11 and 14 are having better on time performance than the Cascades service right now...

This train is always late, but the local Amtrak cascades is always on the dot down to the minute.
