  • thanks jfuller87. It feels good to know that you and many other stutters are in the military and doing well. and I can control it at times but just as any stutter it uncertain when it will happen. Im praying that i will be able to pass the read-aloud test.

  • So Sam, if you're recruiter didn't say anything, I have confidence you'll make it. Good luck and thanks for being willing to do what less than 1% will ever do.

  • Hey, samfisher320. Thanks for your comment. When I went to MEPS way back in 1991, my recruiter told me "not to be doing all that stuttering when I got down there." Yeah, easier said--for him--than done. Bottom line is that I left for basic training Aug 17, 1992 and have served in some capacity ever since, except for a break while in college. I've probably met 20-30 people in the military who stutter. Being honest, just like a bad knee, I'm sure it would depend on the severity of your stutter.

  • I have seen quite a bit of your videos and i must say their amazing. However I just want to truly know if you can make it in the army with a stutter. I already talk to a recruiter and he did't notice anything, but maybe he was just being nice. I'm just really concerned about meps and will I get DQ their. Any response will be highly appreciated. thank you
