Biodesiel is not the permanent fix, but it is currently the only thing a tour bus can run on other than petro. So until another practical alternative is available, I commend Clifbar and Sexton for taken some steps.
Biodiesel puts out 78% fewer CO2 emissions vs. diesel, is biodegradeable & non-toxic. It can be made from oils grown in the US - like soy & canola - without resorting to the destructive sources you mentioned. Unfortunately, some are making their fuel from those sources.
Get informed - ask your retailer about which feedstocks they use. Support those making the right choice.
The market-effects of it causing the burning of the Brazilian, Malaysian, and Indonesian Rainforrests to create it isn't really what I'd call "Green".
