Very well done! I believe the proportions you were going for in the creations of the waterfall height in comparison to the height of the "skyscraper" size of the tree was perfect. (And really nice looking!) There are infinite perspectives that one can form from ANY one situation/image/piece of writing, etc...So, from MY perspective, this is a HUGE tree that has taken so very long to grow, & within that "time" waterfalls formed surrounding it almost as if seeping from its very root structure!
This is awesome, of course. However, it doesn't establish the scale as obviously as you were hoping, I think. Maybe you could've had some time climbers, grappling along the trees trunk...or have a tiny tour boat in the fore ground (like they do for Niagara Falls). Or both, that would really bring perspective.
If you were looking to better convey size in an easy way, consider adding some deer or other animals drinking from the river. They'd be small and would make it easier for people to relate size using a familiar object/animal.
Truely amazing. Just wondering if you do any sketches before hand or if you are making it all up as you go? Also do you use a stylus pen and board or is it with a mouse?
Well, its like a Mouse, only in the shape of a pen. However it comes with a special "mouse pad" that needs to be used with the pen. Careful which one you buy as many are dodgy. The Pen should be cord and batterie free for easy use. Wacom make some good ones.

Nice, but I like the black and white (or slightly tinted) version better.
Also, you could have added some humans or animals in front of the tree to convey a real sense of scale.

Well, when I don't know what I want to draw I just go random until something comes to me. Otherwise I sketch. I use a tablet :)
