  • I did this routine last night and my hair felt amazing and my curls never looked better! Usually I just rub a little bit of shampoo in my hair and wash it out and my hair never felt clean but when I actually took the time to really clean my scalp it felt incredible :)

  • I've been natural for over 8 years and today I finally conditioned and detangled my hair correctly. Before I was just tangling it. I wore my hair straightened for over 7 yrs and didn't care about my curls. Today I actually saw them. Thanks!

  • I love the way your hair looked after you started using the conditioner!

  • how do you describe Meechy's natural curl pattern?? A W E S O M E!

My curls are a lot more dense and packed together, with more shrinkage...will be glad when I get to this length. do you consider yourself a 3c or 4a type?

This is great, thanks for taking the time to share with the rest of the world.

  • love your music who is this, hair is always FABULOUS

  • Hello Meechy

I have a question is there anyway that you can re upload the video where you were styling your two strand twists. Oh another question that I have is how do I know when you have a new video? When I go to watch I know that some times there are duplicates of the same video. However I love watching your channel as well as your sisters. Well anyway thank you for your response and all of your vidoes

  • I love your hair and your wash/detangle technique. I am a beginning transitioner with long hair. I am not planning on BC'ing. However, it did take off about 3 1/2 inches in order to eliminate some of the weight and make it easier for me to manage. It is now at bra strap length. Thanks for sharing and I'll keep watching. Wish me luck!

  • Damn she's cute :) i like...

  • Do you have any tips for those who are just starting to transition?

  • how r u liking the shampoo i really wantted 2 buy it but dont kno if its good or not!

  • u dont wash out your deep condition?

  • Great Technique!:) I was wondering, do you wear wash n go's? If so PLEASE do a video on it, thanx n I subscribed!!

  • I think that we may be hair twins! even though my hair is much shorter than yours, (I bc'd in september 2010) my curls are similar to yours.

  • OMG..Im so happy I stumbled accross your videos. I have the exact same hair. Its kind of cottonny, with a slight curl and doesnt really lay down. I did the big chop and have about 2 inches less than you do. I have been scared and thinking about heat training it, but your videos have given me hope. Thanks so much. I hadnt been able to find anyone with the same texture as mine till you. Im going to try some of your styles..Cant wait to rock my hair the way you rock yours!!

  • You make me wanna go was my hair right now. It look like it felt so good when you were massaging your scalp...

  • Meechy, I noticed when you BC'd you had a TWA. Has your hair routine been pretty much the same this whole time? If not maybe in one of your videos you can talk about how your hair routine has evolved over the last year and a half.

  • thank u sooo much for this video! i am 6 months w/o a perm and just had the worst experience trying to wash/detangle my head!

  • Hey Meechy!!

I found you through your sister Ms. Vaughn

  • Your hair looks great! I do this same technique on my hair. I just subscribed to your sister recently and i subscribed to you today, i love both of your channels. Thanks for sharing!

  • Just subbed. This is the best "shampoo" video yet. I like that you demonstrated and not just talked about it. Look forward to even more hands-on. Your family is beautiful.

  • So I used your wash and detangling technique. Worked WONDERFULLY! Love you and MsVaughn. You girlies are def killing the game in Chi-town. Stay FABULOUS;) XOXO

  • where can buy the Goody Detangling Brush?

  • I have a hard time using my denmen brush. I dont know if my hair is too coarse, or too thick. I will try using your method and see what happens

  • this looks exactly like my hair. I should try your method. I can use a gentler method. lol

  • Ok Meechy.... Where r u??? We miss u!!! Plus u still did show us that protective style!! :-(

  • I absolutely love this way of washing and detangling. I always experience a lot of hair shedding so I will def. try your way to see if it works better for me. How do you usually style your hair after the whole process is over????

  • I love your vids, especially this one! I will definitely try this technique nex time I detangle!

  • You have pretty hair and it doesn't shead....what is your hair type if you don't mind me asking?

  • Thanks for sharing! I have had a hard time figuring out what exactly I should do to my hair once I've shampoo'd it but your video has helped a lot. I will be "adopting" your technique, lol! God bless! ;o)

  • how long have you been natural?

  • @jennybooboo7 HI there, I BC's July 10th 2009....so 14 months. or so. :-)

  • @MeechyMonroe hey i just decided to go natural myself and i loved your video and wondered if your hair was naturally curly like that or did you do something make it that way, that was kinda the results i was wanting for my hair to be curly like yours. oh and after the 14 months did you cut off any of your permed hair?

  • Your skin is flawless :)

  • Another great video Meechy. Your hair is so beautiful!. I have a question about the Hello Hydration Conditioner, does it have any cones in it? I have heard so many great reviews about it. Thanks in advance. :-)

  • hey Meech,

what type of soap is that?

  • thanx soooo much for this! i never knew how to detangle until now! i cant wait to take my fluffy twists down to try this!! :))

  • grl..yu are so beautiful :o)

  • @Imani4 ---Thank you so much, so kind of you. And thx for checking out my video. :-D

  • Great regimen meechy, I wash my hair in a similar manner, except i usually put twists in after detangling. I thinki I will try plaiting/braiding the hair next time, as my twists sometimes unravel! Thanx for the video and tips!

  • Great vid. I just purchased some of those shampoo bars from Chagrin Valley. I love them so far! I'm going to try this technique when shampooing my hair.

  • Luv this vid!!! It's the first time I saw a step by step way a person wash and detangle their hair... It was detailed.

  • I love Chagrin Valley Soaps, I need to place an order. I also need to take more time in the detangling process. Thanks for sharing.

  • is this what you do for your braid outs as well? or do u add products and redo the braids?

  • @NJMAMI88 Thx for watching!!! :-D Once my hair is already rinsed, and detangled(end of vid) I will take each section down 1 by 1 and add my products and twist/braid to prep for a twist/braidout. I can't live w/o my shea butter or styling cremes...lol.

  • Love the music..... T hanks for sharing.......... I'll try this routine on my wash day monday's I can't wait.

  • @AishahMs745 Aww thx, its such a cool mix. And let me know how the routine works for you.

  • Nice video. My hair is super curly like yours and I take the same pride and care when shampooing and conditioning. I shampoo about once a week and cowash 1-2 times a week. I don't use a lot of product at all! So I can get away with co-washing frequently. I've never tried a shampoo bar but after watching your video, I'm interested.

  • this is a very good method ..I will definitely try it thanx for sharing

  • Thank you so much because I had the most horrifying experience with taking down my sengalese twist. I did not detangle my hair before co-washing and my hair became matted on top. So i had to sit and strand by strand gently come it out. I appreciate this vid! Many thanks Meechy! Peace and Blessings!!!

  • @NzuriMahoganySoul Oh no!!! I had the same experience back when I had a perm. My hair was a matted mess after taking out a set of braids and washing it right after!!!! :-(

Thx so much for viewing and stay tuned...lots more on the way. :-)

  • @MeechyMonroe so what is the correct way to take down braids? Is that a good protective style to keep your ends up and away for a while?

  • you have pretty hair !! very nice video !!

    -SoNaturallyHair

  • great technique, i'm going to have to try it

  • Yeah and stratching your scalp is dangerous because it causes open scars to form on your scalp that can stay there for years.

  • Wow I like the technique you use in shampooing your hair.

  • @tina350 that sounds like it has a lot of great benefits, I will have to try it....I'm a pj too so you know I just order the butter shampoo and I wanna try the beer one too, but it's out of stock...I hope it does what it says! Lol

  • LOVE IT!!! and i absolutely LOVE ur hair!!! i will most def try this technique!!

  • great vid meechy..thanks a bunch..

  • Thanks for great vid and thank you so much for referral to the Natural soap website... I will be purchasing several soaps very soon.

  • The best shampoo and detangling method!:)

  • great vid!

  • Hey Meechy, it's Chan from Fotki! Your hair looks great.. and I love your technique, it's very similar to what I read in Chicoro's book Grow it! I think it's a really smart way do all that.

  • oh wow...you taught me something....i have always scratched my head :(

  • Hey Meechy, it's Chan from Fotki! Your hair looks great.. and I love your technique, it's very similar to what I read in Chicoro's book Grow it! I think it's a really smart way to wash and detangle. You know, I have tried shampoo bars, and all natural shampoos and they all make my hair feel dry or stripped, soo? I don't know,,, I just stick to ACV rinses and Cowashes. Thanks for this video!

  • nice video!!!!

  • I love your hair so much! Your Fotki album was definitely one of my inspirations to continue going natural.

  • Thanks for the video! That definitely helps me....I just started wearing my hair natural have not had my hair relaxed since January of this year and a lot of you ladies that wear your hair naturally have truly inspired me! The relaxer started thinning my hair out which is one reason I decided to go natural but also I like the natural look! This video def helps me when I want shampoo and detangle my hair! What I've been doing has not been working! Thanks lady!

  • Best detangling method I have seen thanks!

  • Oh and guys...this method is great! I just finished my 30 min deep conditioning treatmeant under the steamer! It really doesn't take that long. It took me like 45 mins to wash, apply conditioner, section off, detangle, and braid...

    Thanks MeechyMonroe!

    -AmoMiPelo (Fotki)

  • Thanks for the video I plan to try this method tonight!

  • Thanks for the vid!!

  • Oh, and on average how long would you say this takes for you to complete?

  • why shouldn't you scratch with nails when shampooing?

  • Comment removed

  • i love it i cant wait til my hair gets that length

  • thanks for sharing!

  • your hair is gorgeous!

  • Thanks for this vid! I do my hair the exact same way! I've been wanting to try a shampoo bar so i will check the site out!

  • I'm gonna try this right now! Looks so simple....time consuming...but benefitial :)

    Thanks!

  • Wow your shampoo bar seems very conditioning. I can not find any type of shampoo bar, sulfate free or regular shampoo that doesn't strip my hair. I think I may try it out! Gread video.

  • @MissLucky87 Hey there! I had the same problem finding a good shampoo. What I did was made my own shampoo by buying a bar of black soap and soaking it in enough chamomile tea for it to JUST turn liquidy. Then I put it in a foaming pump bottle and added jojoba and avocado oil, a lil veggie glycerine, and lavender essential oil for a lovely smell! :) you should try it! Not stripping at all!

...But just because I'm a product junkie....I'll probably try out that shampoo bar too lol

  • !!!

  • Great video!!! I love the simplicity of it.....I have definitelly been in search of an easier way to wash and detangle my hair. Thank you so much for sharing your method....it's awesome and seems very effective! =)

  • WE missed you. Glad to see your back... Where did you purchase your brush from?

  • I also use this technique ..find it much easier..vid was helpful

  • about time! we miss u!!:)
