New Birth is the master of remakes. They did excellent remakes of, Dream Merchant (Jerry Butler), I Can Understand It (Bobby Womack), and Until It's Time For You To Go (Buffie St. Marie). If you've heard Skylark's original version of this, the New Birth version sounds almost like a live version.

Wildflower. I never heard this version, yet it is excellent and finely executed. Great vocalist and arrangement. It has an oldies -

R&B sound and feel to it. I would rate it as good as the original with the fire and soul in it. Well crafted and unigue in its own right. Different sound and rendition with excellent results.

You must hear the original Skylark version, as it is simply incredible. It brings back

so much great memories in the early 70s that just hearing both versions are a treat to the heart and soul. I love this version, as it is finely crafted with the utmost professionalism in arrangement and execution. I've read the history from the writer of how this song was originally written, and to see how it turned-out is simply incredible. It also saved a woman who about to commit suicide.
