  • Riveting!

  • Beautiful! Lovely clear voice. Not at all pretentious. :)

  • I think Emmas voice is the best for baroque music. I prefere her.

  • voice of the angels....

  • Sorry to be pedantic but the title should read "If God be for us......."

  • Eital,Bunner - I fully agree with you.

Truly a clean, clear and beautiful voice.

  • Meravigliosa... Non ci sono altre parole.

  • I think I hear an angel

  • My favourite aria in Messiah! And this lady makes it seem so effortless!!!!

  • i wanna cry

  • Sir(s): If I may, at this Date and Time, state here and attest to the full how I believe this Sweet Old Hymn of New Testament Learning is a Sure Comfort in the New Year 2011. I sometime wonder where G-D dwells and how He dwells, even in like fashion to the Life of the New Testament Christ'os, as if He were living, dwelling, and subsisting on some Wonderful World as We do here. This helps the Human Mind also, for We are sent to the Rest of No Further Condemnation, which, if I may, is a "Nation."

  • @torstvillinger "If God be for us, who can be against us," is a firm promise to all those who are children of God, who submit to Him with all humility and love. God will only wash our sins if we believe in Him, and obey His law. Furthermore, everlasting life, which God has promised to His chosen people, is only to His Glory. It will be an everlasting feast where we may bring Glory to our creator and sustainer, our Father and our God. To God be ALL the Glory forever

  • @torstvillinger

God dwells in Heaven. He is the Creator of ALL things, and He created all things for His right purpose, and to His Glory. God has given us His Word to know Him by. His righteousness and holiness. He is a just God. He punishes sin. But those who believe, and repented from there sin may, out of mere grace, receive the righteousness of Christ, Who paid for our sins on the cross. .

  • She is simply the best. Clear, mellifluous voice, not too dramatic, but just perfect for this.

  • Oh! my 'God', Emanualle at it's highest.

  • This is the most beautiful rendition I've ever listened to!

  • She is the greatest Haendel singer ever!

  • Absolument fabuleux!!!

  • she makes the runs seem so easy:)

  • This is the kind of voice I like to hear performing Renaissance, Baroque and

Classic-period oratorio. Operatic voices are too colorful for the orchestration, and I like melissmas are cleaner with this type voice.

  • @EltaLBunner Not to be picky, but she DOES have an operatic voice. I'm guessing you mean to say a dramatic voice. The difference is that this woman would be singing Mozart and Handel operas where as bigger voices are more likely to sing Puccini, Verdi, and Wagner. All that being said, I absolutely agree that her voice is perfectly suited to this repertoire.

  • Marvellous, thanks for posting. Where can you purchase the DVD of this 1982 recording?

  • I thought this was a great rendition

  • great!!
