  • what punjabi do you speak the guy in the video says mera nam martin maera nam si sara

katar aves kitar aves where do you live. The romanians are not going to speak in a punjabi accent

  • This is such a cool language !!! I love the history behind it , it is so interesting :)

  • Romani Chib , is very old language of sanskrit , and also our Romani chib language is much older than Domari or Sinti languages .

  • diferit

  • Please post more lessons. And break them up into appropriate sections. Use other language videos as examples on how to.

  • i live between them, i grow up with them, i have friends gypsy but we have a wold...a gypsy remain a gypsy you can't change that!! i was stolen by a "friend gypsy" . I hate gypsys because they cannot integrate and work like every normal people...they must steal and rob to live..this is 98% of gypsy, and you if you are a kind one u cannot change that FACT!

  • @85LockDog Yes, same thing happened to me! But I am NOT that kind of a gypsie! I guess I am one of the 2% ;)

  • @85LockDog That's the same thing they said about Sikhs in the punjab, Indians in the UK, muslims in almost everywhere, Jews, again, almost everywhere, Native Americans in the US. Just because they tend to have their own communities doesn't mean they threaten the integrity of the nation, any nation.

  • @85LockDog I wish there was a way to contact that "friend" and let them know what kind of a "friend" that Rroma has in you...sheesh. Can you spell anger management ?

  • @85LockDog this is my country... I bet you that if you saw me on the street you would not even know I am gypsy.... I'm hot man... :P

  • @Sweetgirl1295 i'm from Bistrita, Transylvania and i seen gypsey in caravans with barefoot walking kids on street on late autumn just to beg mercy for a coin, now tell me what kind of parents can do that?? YES GYPSES!!

THIS IS OUR COUNTRY for hundred centuries and we want you to integrate or disappear!!

  • @85LockDog I think 500 years of slavery till the late Eighteen hundreds and since then not much better. Euro bathrooms, Gypsy bathrooms. It is not your Country it is also Rromani Country, as us as slaves helped to build "the" Country. How dare "YOU" speak about what you do not know. How dare "you" group an entire 12-20million people based on what you think you understand?

  • @85LockDog You kind of left out the part about the only schools we are allowed to attend are "special" needs. You kind of leave out the part that "everyone" knows in common sense that who in the world could get a job as a "Gypsy" (not...Rromani) with the kind of vile hate you carry in your heart for us. How dare "you" tell others what kind of parents we are when there is a world filled with people who should never be parents and molest their own children.

  • @85LockDog How dare you not mention the ghettos, sterilizations, horrendous living. That we are the largest minority throughout Europe and treated worse then the African blacks before apartheid went down or in America in the sixties,.....how dare you speak about our bare feet begging (which you have no clue what you are talking about) when your Country moved hundreds of us to the most lead poisoned Mountain in the "world

  • @85LockDog "..on purpose! Where the children's teeth are "black: from the tumors, poison and disease that your Country are "murdering" them in. Lets face it, you have "major" economic problems like the rest of the world due to "bankers" and you are taking it out on the little guy who is just trying to stay alive.

  • @85LockDog ""Every" race has a criminal minority and if you did "any" kind of research you would know that it is a minority not majority of us that commit crime or beg. Out of that minority and even much smaller number are the ones that look like Mafia without killing. What about your dysfunctional, beggers, thieves, low lifes, homeless, ....what you are saying you do not have any?

  • @85LockDog YOU ARE FEELING A HATRED INBRED UNTO YOU FROM CHILDHOOD IN IGNORANCE OF THE FULL KNOWLEDGE. YOU DO NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU SEE OR WHAT YOU DO!!!!!

  • Guys.... Leave us gypsies alone!!!!! We are proud to be gypsy! I am a gypsie living in Romania! There are tons there and I love it!

  • @Sweetgirl1295 find youreself a country...i'm romanian and this is Romania!!

  • Get the fuck out of Romania you fucking gypsies.

  • @ExtremaDreapta pe mine m-au blocat astia de la youtube pentru afirmatiile care le-am facut despre tigani :)))

abia acum pot sa postez iar comenturi...cica am fost rasist :)))

  • i mean *malayalees OR tulus

  • @giantgrave: dude...not all south indians have dark skin and dravidic features...go look up Malaylees of Tulus...they have fair skin and usually have so-calles 'aryan' features....a good example would be Aishwarya Rai...she's Tulu, of dravadian descent...and her eyes are green

  • you speak the new romani but the old romani is better!!!

  • I've never heard Romani before. What a beautiful language.

  • Lmao am gypsy (Romani) it's funny to see how badly these words were miss pronounced lol good try tho! LoL for all the People saying there's no such thing as Romani! You's are idiots. We Roma call ourselves Roma cause it means MAN in the Romani language it has nohing to do with crappy ugly Romania! Infact we have been calling ourselves Roma for thousands of years before Romania ever existed! Anybody who calls us Roma as in Romania must not have an education! The words Roma Romani romaniya soun

  • This is such a beautiful language. I recently found out I'm part gypsy, and I know that culture is not transmitted through the blood, but I can't help but have great respect for my ancestors on all sides... and they all feel like they're part of me.

  • @Katchess Hey thanks for the respect and yes the culture is not passed through the blood but the way you respect shows you got more chance to be in our community and culture then those who may have 99% blood; because you have heart "taches"/truth. Te beshes baxtali, sasti, undo raadna..sista;0)

  • @Sumakuni If I understood that right... "May you have luck, health, and peace"? I'm sorry you have to face so much ignorance and discrimination. People talk about Roma stealing, without thinking that maybe (if it even was true that Roma stole more than others) they have to steal because they are not even given a chance. If you interpellate a group into the position of criminals, they have almost no choice but to oblige.

  • @Katchess haha yeah?? visit one of our camps and see if you still feel that way

  • fuck gypsyes ....from romania

  • @85LockDog

FUCK YOURSELF, RACIST WORM! FROM AMERICA.

  • @Tsalagi65 suck my dick all the way from america to romania

  • @85LockDog

Honestly: go die in a hole all the way from America to romania.

  • @85LockDog Thank God you do not represent all Romanians. Thank God you do not speak for "God". Thank God our people are rising and telling the "world" what has been happening, danger; educated R.O.M.A.N.I.!!

  • @giantgrave and because many say that Roma are Rajputs?

  • ceneboy you are gypsy?

  • @Nejiboud: Please do not feed the trolls. They should starve to death soon enough. Also, you are wise. It is best not to argue with fools; they will die ignorant and destroy you in the process, like the farmer who cut the head of his golden egg-laying goose off so that he wouldn't have to spend money on food for it.

  • @alex4ucj

Its the Devil speaking through you, your hatred is despicable.

  • Comment removed

  • @alex4ucj

Like I said, the Devil is speaking through you, anyone who knows Jesus or any of the great men of God, would not spew the hate you spew. The Devil is inside you.

  • @alex4ucj

Gypsy's come from all over the place ACTUALLY. I'm a Welsh Romany Gyspy, I was born in Welsh so can't tell me to get out of my country... even though me and my family travel alot.

    Stuff you racist cow.

  • It's Gypsy language, there's no such thing as "Romani"

Fuck you, Europe confuse us Romanians with you monkeys. change your stupid ethnic name, you're Gypsies, not "Romani" shit invented in the last 20 years.

Tigani, Cigany, Zigeuner, Gitan, Gitano, Çingeneler, Zingari

  • @alex4ucj Look you can say this till you turn blue in the face but all you have written is the word "Gypsy" in other languages. The world will know and will have proof that our name is "Rromani" (period) It has "NOTHING" to do with Romania and means "MAN or PERSON". Now "We apologize" (not) for the fact that it sounds familiar in the written word that "we" did not write, as if you heard it in person you would know it does not sound like Romanian at all.

  • @alex4ucj Instead of getting upset with the ignorance of the person who confuses you and their prejudice, (which who the heck are "they" only God knows) you "once again" take out all your problems on us! Good God....stop playing victim while you destroy lives as tyrants, even if you killed us all you would never win...do you not see this? GB and "peace".

  • so many punjabi words in the video.Romani definite have some sort of connection with north india

  • @msangh2003 there actually arent many punjabi words. i am a fluent punjabi speaker.

  • amor gitana prima chanelas tu vakerar en romanes? y de donde siñelas?

  • amari chib si o mai shukar duneste

  • how about this.. f*** everyone who has something bad to say about the language or the culture.. no one asked you. no one. your opinion really doesnt matter - also.. the correct way to say the title is RomanE phrases not romani.. romani is the feminine romane is the masculane. people who have something bad to say about gypsies on youtube are really dumb and have no lives if you're sitting home on your fat ass commenting on something you have no clue about. Thanks :)

  • @amorgitana3590 de donde eres prima yo de madrid y se hablar en romanes y tu? un saludo

  • we speak Romanist, and i can see some similarites in the language.

  • @giantgrave Im southern american romanichal, and i totally agree with you.

  • @CaptainAtheist:

It is a matter of personal preference. It would be a very sad thing if everyone only spoke the same language all the time everywhere. It's like saying you only want to be served barbecue chicken everywher you go. The first few times, it's good but after a while, you get very bored. Variety is good. As long as different languages aren't used to divide people or for one group to downgrade another, there is nothing wrong with multilingualism, in my opinion.

  • @giantgrave thats impossible. Gypsies speak an Indo-Aryan language of the Indo-European group and not a Dravidic language. You are simply a racist

  • I AM GYPSY FROM ISPANISH AND I NOT TO SAY ,.CHI KAMAV, I TO SAY - NA KAMAV. BECAUSE IS IT MORE OLD. BUT EVERY GYPSYS TO UNDERSTAND

  • who to talk ?

  • ruska roma sukaredir rakiren))

  • Does anyone know of a book or something so I can learn Romani, my grandfather used to speak around his siblings but noone spoke it . So anything would help thanks

  • GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME...

SO SO SIMILAR TO INDIAN LANGUAGES NAMELY, KATCHHI (GUJARATI) , SINDHI AND PUNJABI..

NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY ROMANY GYPSY IS PART OF THE INDO-EUROPEAN LANGUAGE FAMILY..

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A FRIEND WHO SPEAKS THIS LANGUAGE.. PLEASE PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU CAN SPEAK ROMANY GYPSY.. I WANT TO LEARN..

  • I notice that the grammar seems to be similar to Spanish and French. Looks interesting to learn.

  • Nav is the same in Kurdish =0

  • Very interesting. I t sounds like no other language ive ever heard, except for Hindu.

  • it's good video , a good way to learn this language

  • WTF? in wich romani dialect do you say mein for me? mande is me

  • does anyone know of a good book that teaches the Romani language?

  • what romani dialect are you?

can barely recognise the words x)

  • Sounds a lil bit like pahari punjabi dialect. I can kinda understand some words. The translation help. Some words/phrases r same. Tu, Me vi, miro nav, aves, anda( same as ando), tjiri, tusa, kaj djas, na. These r a few I picked up from the video. I m sure there were more cuz the really deep punjabi has more words that r the same.

  • @nworb

Yea i got the same vibe too. At first it sounded a bit like urdu but it resembles panjabi more.

  • I think there's a similarity between a few of the north indian languages. There's phrases in romani that don't exist in Punjabi, but exist in other Indian languages like Hindi, Sindhi and Gujarati. Also Punjabi is *a lot* more nasal than Romani whereas the others also aren't as nasal (well maybe Hindi is kinda nasal)

  • Ofcourse there is a similarities between other north indian languages as well. I jus noticed the punjabi words because I don't speak the others. Maybe cuz I am a punjabi speaker, I never noticed the nasal tones my language. The way he is speaking in the videos, sounds more nasal to me then punjabi does. I am not an expert in languages, I really don't know wut is academically thought of as nasally n wut isnt, so I'll leave the discussion on that here. No further comments on that from me :)

  • soste we say sostar

  • @MiSScG4life Wow! Never heard this language before! It's cooool! Sounds a bit like Punjabi!

  • @jyg676 yh its similar but i moslty understand the hindu language is easyer

  • me vi som mishto ??? we say avime sim mishto thats strange all words are turned lol

  • my gypsy langugae we say jo for yes im german gypsy there are many gypys around the world they dont have one languagesome of them speak differently

  • wsll im gypsy ive searched the sanskrit language and i dont understand a shit of it maybe some little words are the same but the rest i dont understand eg. pani in indian language means water we say the same or when we count jek duj trin shtar panj shov efta ochto its nerly the same . And va means yes here in this video its yugoslavia gypsy or something

  • can anyone tell me what percentage of latin and indian has the romani language?

  • sastipe-satshiriakal(panjabi) sar san- saru chhe?(gujarati) me vi som mishto-me vi theek aan (panj) so si tjiro nav- timro nam ke ho(nepali) miro nav si o martino- mero nam martino ho avav lundrarjatar- ami lundun la yeto(marathi) kaj djas- kute jatos(marathi) te pjas kafa- kafey peeyen?(urdu/hindi)sar-soo(gujarati) kaj- kahaan(hindi/urdu), kute(marathi), kithe(punjabi) kathe-ithe(panjabi)' kothe-uthe(panjabi) va- haan(hindi) na-na(all indian languages)
  • actually Sastipe comes from the Sanskrit "Sastpan" (meaning riches)

  • @ceniboy it is actually " swapnas" or "sampad"...

    rich= swapnas,sampad,revat,vibhavah,dhanika

  • hi watan....I don't know if its Sanskrit then, but Sasti means "cheapness" in Potwari, which I guess is the opposite of its meaning in Romani.

  • "sasti/sastah" is also the word for cheap in farsi, panjabi, hindi, urdu, marathi and sindhi, gujarati( sasto)....

  • potwari i guess is a dialect of panjabi/dogri

  • i am indian and i am a jat

some of these words feel so similar i am astounded

are there more videos of this nature i am intrigued

  • North Indian languages belong to the same family of languages that are spoken in most European countries; i.e. the Indo European family of languages. The languages in Europe that don't belong to this family are Hungarian, Finnish, Estonian and Basque. It's quite obvious when considering words like:

-- "tu", which is the sound meaning "you" across I.E. langs.

-- the German "keine" which means "nothing", very similar.

... not enough space here but some quick research will intrigue u more, 2b sure

  • Also if you think western european Romanies are too white then this rases the following question

Turkish Drom are darker than the Roma so does this mean the eastern European roma are less Romani?

Also their are fair skinned eastern european romanies that are also considered Roma by their different groups. So colour has no baring on what it is to be a roma or romanies.

White or black skinned makes no difference its acting in the Romani way and of course having the ancestory.

  • Tiganeasca, cumva? BLEAHHH

  • don't makee me laugh! I am blond with blue eyes, hardly Dravidic features!

  • Its because u are not a pure Romani. Ur ancestors would have mixed with european populations.

Check out the romani people in Romania and eastern Europe and u'll find out what i mean...

  • Romanies in Spain, Italy and the balkan states would have mixed with non Romani populations and inherited dark genes from those non-romani populations. There is no such thing as a pure gypsy or another pure race for that matter. Humans interact and mix spanning back thousands of years.

If ceniboy is blond and has blue eyes and is Romani then he IS Romani. Romani is not due to skin colour its cultural and his ancestors did come from india and no doubt he speaks a Romani toungue.

  • Actually, "checking out the Romani people in Romania and eastern Europe" just complicates things.

Remember Nicolai Neacsu, the founder of Taraf de Haidouks, may he rest in peace. A proper Romani man. Now I've met Roma from Albania who are much darker than he was. Are they truer Romanies, then?

If your main criterion for figuring out if someone's Romani is simply how dark they are then you would have to conclude that Django Reinhardt was basically a gajo compared with Indian Roma. Ridiculous.

  • u'll find gypsies claiming to be jatts or Rajputs in the same ways as the black American nationalists will be found claiming Zulu descent.

Jatts and Rajputs, both have a martial history...

  • Than lets talk about characters.

Rajputs consider music the work of ''low-castes'' and consider it a taboo. Gypsies play alot of music lol. Than rajputs don't take shit from anybody without putting up a fight lol....gypsies did that in holocaust...

Than Rajputs were and still are traditionally warriors and respected by locals whereas Gypsies are stereotypically fortune tellers, musicians etc.

  • thanks so much ! I luv this language big time.Sounds so nice

  • yoy devla lol

  • Since Urdu is our national language now. Surprisingly I can understand many of the words here. There are even some Punjabi(my mother tongue) words here.

    Heres a list:

    My: Romani: Miro Urdu: Mera.

You: Romani: Tu Urdu: Tu Punjabi: Tun

    Melon: Romani:Garbuzo Urdu: Kharbuza

    And: Romani: thai Punjabi: Thai

    Where: Romani: Kothe Punjabi: Kithe

    Name: Romani: Nav Urdu: Naam

    Me: Romani:Mein Urdu:Mein

    your: Romani:Tiro Urdu(slang): Tera

  • are u talking here about Roma, Italy ?

  • No, "Roma" here does not refer to Rome.

By coincidence, the words "Roma", and "Romani" are the words we Gypsies use to refer to ourselves. To make it even more confusing, we are NOT the original natives of the country now called Romania, though we make up a large minority of people in that country.

This linguistic phenomenon is called "False Friends"; you may want to look that up in Wikipedia.

Another example of "False Friends" is the Italian word "Ciao" and the English word "Chow".

  • romani has retained some of its indian characteristics in language, like in some words.

  • ..most similar to indian-(sanskrit) are the verbs!

& other characteristics are the loanwords which remain to the place that you live!

  • in Anglo-Romani we say Sar Shen for Hello, I am learning Kalderash because my Grandmother was Kalderash

  • yoy che my pa io ....

  • wow its amazing t i say every word on here. very good job gbu what kind of gypsy r u?

  • Comment removed

  • Please make more Romani Phrases videos.

  • we have had a langauge that so old dating back sanskrit ,and is not a written langauge so this makes it so very special it is the only langauge like in the world! so i tell you lets not ruin this for the future genertions to come, and lets do what the past generation have done for us they kept it a secret all this time...so use your jugment and listen to your heart, they dont need to know our langauge anyway..te aves buxtalo..please reply ill be waiting for your respons

  • That is a Romani superstition that does not carry over every Rom community

  • I guess keep the culture and blood and ways is too important to get absorbed into the mayority society, but its a hard fate, thats why we gadjos have to treat u better. its the only solution, though u could speak to us in english for example. And have friendly relations. But the society has to change towards you most important, so organize your self in trade legal or illegal, I would say

  • let me ask you a question? i am sure you know that it is known amongst all roma across the world that are language is sacraet, and for no reson to teach it to the gajo, brey for 1000s of years we have kept our language a secret, and know you have jusy destroyed that in about 3 minuts with this video, there is no reson for teachinging the gajo our language,so i would tell you to stop this only because since the early days of romas existance

  • Hi vinnyuboy, I am not Roma, and I suppose you would classify me as gajo(?), but I believe it would be a good thing if non-Roma people were to learn more about your people, including the Romani language. In the last few years there has been some immigration of Roma into Ireland and I regret to say that there has also been considerable prejudice against them. In my own limited way I have tried to dispel this. I would feel privileged to be considered a friend of the Roma people.

  • Actually English Romani people have been in Ireland for years. The Bowes or Bow name in County Kilkenny as an example is of Romanichal origin and English Romani chib has some similarities to the dialect here which is Kaldaresh Romani. Although the majority of Irish gypsies are not off the Romani people.

  • I have a book in my shelf, and I dunno, like from the 60`and from yugoslavia.

Guess you better figure out what works in future.(*)

You would also recommend this dude better follow his heart.

  • too late, also many have forgotten the language maybe because of that, up here oh it was a secret but in southern europe they always sang it aloud, so I guess Sinti and Romanichal, kaale, manouche very secret, but now indians easy can learn it and communicate, imagine this: paki immigrants in norway have been able to understand traveller romani chib, without wordbook, maybe not good, but face it almost only roma speak it, its almost dead among sinti or hidden well.

  • Avoid using the term 'Paki'. There is no race called Paki. In Pakistan, Urdu, which is a form of Hindi fused with different languages. It was a language that soldiers from around the sub continent used. It had elements of every language here.

In Pakistan, the main language is Urdu, because there are thousands of muslim tribes and ethnic groups united under a single country. To remove sense of inferiority in the minorities, Urdu was chosen. It isnt the ancestral language of any group here.

  • so maybe Prakrit is your ancestral language? Do you as a Rajput feel any kinship with the Romany tribes?

  • There is a genetic study that romanis come from Jatt people. There is no genetic marker, except the affinity for some disease, but it's enough proof to say gypsies came from northcentral India from the settled Scythian invaders, and then their blood got corrupted (diluted), but kept the disease gene lol.

Some rajputs come from Jatt converts (loong time ago, as well as other tribes). And many Rajputs became Jatts to marry Jatt women.

So technically, the answer is, not really - but yet again...

  • Okey, yes there is something very scythian about them especially the sintis. genetic studies also say that they have alot of old south indian genes, like genetic marker H

  • In 2007 a limited medical survey of haplotypes frequently found in the Jat Sikhs and Jats of Haryana, and the Romani populations resulted in NO MATCHES.[36]

However, the recent discovery in 2009 of the "Jat mutation" that causes a type of glaucoma in Romani people.

So other than 1 disease gene, gypsies aren't like jatts (due to being seriously mixed along the way to europe). Maybe 1 family moved from India, breeding a lot on the way lol?

  • Jatts are exclusively believed to be the only tribe as direct descendants of Indo-Scythians, and since gypsies do not have any other genetic markers other than the glaucoma mutation... I don't think you can call them Scythians (any more?).

  • of course I'm not saying u're wrong, its totally reasonable too keep it secret, I meant since it is already out why not enjoy its splendour, well they should have hidden it better, probably guys who impressed gajo girls let it out. Plus its so much in the street jargon. Everybody gets curious of secrets. its difficult, mix with gajo or no. If mix the culture disappear more and more if not facing more hatred,

  • To not know is to fear. To fear is to hate. In good times, people are annoyed when others speak around them in a language they don't know or understand. In bad times ... they blame those same people for anything bad that happens even if they are innocent because they don't understand them and fear them. "What do they say? What do they hide? Kill them before they do something bad." I think this is a good thing that others know some words in your language because it increases understanding.

  • @philomelodia Aaaa... yea why should I learn gypsy language.... instead of the gypseys speaking 100% percent of the time in my language... since they live in my fucking country. I don't go around the street talking to my friends in Russian... even if I'm of russian descent.

  • @CaptainAtheist Well actually; your "Country" enslaved us for five hundred years until the late eighteen hundreds and since then it has not got much better, still looked down upon, special need schools, euro and Gypsy bathrooms, hate hate hate who could get work , rise to be equals? Only minority of Rroma do what they need to for survival and an even smaller minority for wrong reasons. Before you even begin to say "Yes you are"..your words of hate have not one bit of power over any of us.

  • @Sumakuni

Interesting how the most traditionally discriminated ethnic groups ended up being collectively enslaved at one point in history (blacks, Roma & Jews).

  • @CaptainAtheist We are the largest minority as a result of this and largely responsible for a great deal to do with the building of your Country since then within the "slave" labor force. So I think after that long, that much sacrifice and that much torture; this would qualify "our Country as well". GBU and help lift the evil fate up of you so you may be freed from your hate and judgement. Te ushten ty vazdous amaro glaso Rromaley, shavalley po "si" aye lumna. GBtheGs throughout the world

  • gyosies suck. Smelly assholes stealing and raping it`s all their good at. I wish the romanian army would rape and kill these motherfuckers

  • @speew

  • Hmmmm...helpful! ^^ Gestene, Kestra! I needed a video like this...

  • what will you be doing with the phrases?

  • I'm trying to learn the basics of the Romanes because I want to do missionary work when I graduate. I'm going to go to a Missionary college so I can go help the Rom. It sickens me how people treat the Gypsies. They have such a beautiful culture but no one sees that anymore, I guess.

  • @Girlygurl123 ...I completely agree with you. I plan to receive a double major in languages and in anthropology. Hopefully as an anthropologist, I can be able to work with this culture and understand their ways better

  • Nais tuke for these videos. I rokker bitti Chib. :)

  • Shouldnt

"Miro nav si i Sara" be "Miri nav si i Sara"

as mir(i) is the feminine gender of miro?

    Lacho divis

  • Lacho dives, no because "nav" is a masculine word and the pronoun agrees with the noun not the name of the person.

  • This is really helpful. Thanks.

  • This is international Romani and its vocabulary is mainly derived from Kalderash and Vlax Romani.

  • So is that the pure Romani language, as opposed to the bastardised Anglo-Romani spoken in parts of England?

  • This also has influences from european languages, but no form of Romani is completely pure, some dialects have more foreign influence than others. Even some of the oldest and widely used Romani words are Persian or Kurdish, strictly speaking only the words of Indian origin are "pure," but without these loan words Romani would not be what it is today. However, the Romani presented here is an attempt at an international Romani with little loan words.

  • How different was the original Sinti- tikes from the original Romanes? Some claim it was rather different and try to separate them from the roms. But I've heard from Sintis that master the language well that it was all the same language really. Therefore those tribes must be very much related, they are just trying to be the "real gypsies". All i can say is that the Romanichal and Sinti "might" have been the first to wander out, thus they are considered for me to be the originals somehow.

  • Sintitikes is very similar if not the same as other Romanes dialects, the difference is in the loan words, Sintitikes uses German loan words which in fact makes it a pretty standard Romanes dialect because every dialect borows from the language of the ethnic majority of the country it originates in

  • amazing that they quarrel so much when they basically derive from the same stock.
