Does magic really help you other then with healin g and shouts against a dragon?Id go 2 handed sword or dual wield swords for quick kill swich to heals when he starts to fly.....and you should kill him both ways but im thankin mine would be faster.....

here is how you defeat a dragon you wait till he lands and you use a shield and sword, axe, mace, or dagger and you hit him in the head and when he tries to breath fire/ice you bash him with your shield which will stop him then you continue attacking and once you get the shout dragonrend it will be much easier

You Need to do these 5 things,

1. Use Frost Bolt.

2. Use a shield with your 1 handed weapons.

3. Perhaps use a 2 handed weapon if you dont want to use a shield.

4. Use Your shouts, they help.

5. Use your items to your advantage. E.g when your fighting a FIRE dragon, use fire resistance items? Like So RG can see this!:)

@GhostRobo Ghost, if you insist on using a one-handed weapon, at least always use a shield.

Two-Handed weapons, however, may be slow, but both of mine do 60 damage where i am. And i am only a couple of quests above you. Try out a 2 handed and increase your smithing. Buy a bunch of leather and leather strips and just continuously make hide bracers.

I have a question. Say I have 3 different shouts like GhostRobo has in this video, and I have absorbed three dragon souls in order to use them. On my way to a place, I encounter a dragon. I defeat this dragon and absorb its soul. However I don't need its soul since I already have unlocked the three shouts I have. 10 minutes later I find a the words on the wall and learn a new shout. Does the dragon soul I absorbed earlier unlock the new shout? Or do I have to kill another dragon?

hunting down dragons are like the best part of skyrim lol its better to play with healz left hand and tree a one-hander.. heal/mana up while its in flight and wait for it to go down then dps it while holding healz so the flames dont kill you. thats how i survive most all battles :D good luck and have fun!

Do the Companions questline, u can join them in Whiterun. Also, upgrade your weapons and level up your smithing. The best way to level up ur smithing is to buy loads of iron ingots/ores and leather (strips). Both materials are cheap and you can use them to make iron daggers, which require hardly anything to make, and you get a decent amount of xp for each one made. Combine this with the Warrior Stone (near Riverwood) and you'll have 100 smithing in no time! Like so he can see.

Use your shout, that screaming will cause your enemies to get pushed like leaves by a wind blow. The best is to get an enemy close to a high placed spot, close to a cliff and shout at them.

Ghost, the Dragon Head on the compass is a word wall! Outside of dungeons they are guarded by a dragon, you killed the dragon but didn't get the word. That's like playing a card game without motorcycles!!! Damn youuuuuuuuuu.
