The pro-wrestler is for sure beating the students at the university's amateur wrestling club. And perhaps it is the club who invited the wreslter to get any advice.

I think the wrestler is prematured in his way to express his thoughts. And all he knew was to act this way really phisically to tell the students that once those students are on the wrestling mat there will be nobody that help themselves.

The message is very clear but the way Sayama expressed his thought is discouraging.

this was "very special case". let's say, 3 or 4 days total during 4 years as i knew, and his action is over reaction intentional because this training was with an related college wrestling group so that all of them were disclosed, including his behavior for TV camera.

Sayama was usually an easy going and funny person while i was his student. this was a trial to teach student to bring out their max potential under high stress, like a match.

Sayama Satoru is simply a prematured man who does not know what the best way to encourage students is. The more Sayama beats students, the more Sayama loses. Most modern mma folks or grapplers wouldn't stand for this kind of abuse. Unfortunately these things happen in Japan and abroad and their students put up with it.

The man is training fighters this is not a health spa. He started 'shooto' a precurser to ufc. The way he teaches is very old school, kinda funny how the modern mma crew often critize this and believe they train 'under pressure'

@MrGungFuChu look i think i misunderstood and i dont explaine myself ver well, but my point is that it doesnt matter how punishment or how much pressure your master put on you if you dont progresse by youself, the determination and the passion in evertytime you train is what will make you an excellent fighter or a master in martial arts, is not neccesary all to beat your students like that if you dont show them your compromise to teach them. in my point of view beating is not neccesary
