I remember this group performing on TV in England in the early 80s when I was very young. They wore fencing masks! It was kind of creepy, but highly memorable and great music.

One time they pretended it was actual robots-they removed the glove off one and there was a robotic hand-publicity stunt obviously at the time-the masks weren't fencing ones but just like in the cartoon video, mirrored face plates. Took me years to find this clip again...

@TheMasterNo6 All I had to go on was a few bars of the tune that I could remember (probably helped by the fact that Hospital Watch used this music over the years) and an extremely vague memory of faceless people playing violins. So I googled something like "faceless orchestra, chamber music", not much came up. But when I went to search images, a still from this video came up and I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. The site linked to the image was tvcream, and they had all the info!
