I just got through utterly defiling this boss... I got Toad up to level 16 and did the Snowcraft minigame and got six Masamunes... I equipped Firion, Guy and Leon with the Masamunes and let Maria cast Ultima for ~1800 damage, and at the end of round 3, the Emperor died.
Moral of the story... Masamunes + high powered Ultima = EVERYTHING DIES.
turn based was awesome, time was ok but things went wrong after XII, it gives it a bit more realistic feel and just seems to work with the greater graphics and apparantly versus XIII is using a system like KH god thats a bad decision

i think in MY OPINION it's more realistic and makes the game a bit more dificult than turn based battles... while i also think that most FF players can't get used to the time based battles... so what they can change is: 1 get back to turn based; 2 improve the time based battles so the player can adjust them selves to time based battles
The thing is, I spend up2 £100 on drinking @ wkend, £8 to see a film at the cinema, £40 on a new game that can last no more than 100hours etc.
FFXI is £9/month. It had me hooked for 4 years, spending every available hour I could on it., and even though I havn't played for 6months, I've kept my account open so I can return to the game sometime soon (theres been alot of major expansion/additions to the game I want to play etc).

The only two things without limits in this game is the health and mana. I used to get around 20000 health and around 15000 mana for each char. It's quite possible that you can have 99999 health and mana, but that will take forever to achieve
Not in the NES version of this game. You can see that it says 9999 but it never really ends, even if i beat up my chars with everything i have in every battle to make the hp increase in every battle, it's never enough. It just keeps going for me...
If you ask me, it was easier to do an SCC of FF2 than a regular game. If you only use one character, his (or her, if you prefer Maria =p) stats go CRAZY.

It's my 3rd Time watching this awesome i just defeated him myself. Soul of Rebirth is awesome and PS1 version is much harder, things cost much more and spells level up much more slower you should play PS1 version.

Right now I'm doing a spells-only challenge, mostly because Protect+Shell+Blink+Berserk+Haste breaks the game with a weapons user.
Overpowered spells IMO: Berserk, Blink (with a shield equipped), Slow if possible to get and land.

Besides, XII IS turn based, it's just alot faster and smooth, and you can move, it's a more original approach, you can't hate at SE for that.

Solos are so easy in FFII, but FFIV DS is a challenge since the last boss has 150,000 HP.

I would say "impressive", but powerlevelling is both the game's greatest strength and weakness.
...oh what the hell! Impressive! I love the visual effects in the PSP version and-- OMG is that a Black Mages version of the final battle theme like in FFIIIDS!? I was already sold on getting FFI & II PSP, but this is overkill. In a good way! And yes, I am a total Square Enix fan-whore. And damn proud of it!

The only two things without limits in this game is the health and mana. I used to get around 20000 health and around 15000 mana for each char. It's quite possible that you can have 99999 health and mana, but that will take forever to achieve

Not in the NES version of this game. You can see that it says 9999 but it never really ends, even if i beat up my chars with everything i have in every battle to make the hp increase in every battle, it's never enough. It just keeps going for me...

I found out that a high leveled drain is the most useful spell in the game. No need to explain, try it out ;)
I taught Leon both osmosis and drain and he's literally invincible. With the exception of undead monsters of course. :)

If you ask me, it was easier to do an SCC of FF2 than a regular game. If you only use one character, his (or her, if you prefer Maria =p) stats go CRAZY.

It's my 3rd Time watching this awesome i just defeated him myself. Soul of Rebirth is awesome and PS1 version is much harder, things cost much more and spells level up much more slower you should play PS1 version.
