just read dark avengers #1 today and i agree with what you guys are saying. not terribly ground breaking. one thing that bothered me though was venom. now, i haven't kept up on venom too much for about the last ten or so years so maybe they changed it and i didn't notice, but couldn't he shape shift? why does he need some sort of pill to make him look more like spider-man?
i notice you sold your ASM Obama variant. you have some good comics back there! Speaking of stuff going on in the background, I think i hear some Death Cab playing, nice!
Also, I agree with the actor based characters in comics being a lame thing. The one exception at least for me is the personification of Christopher Reeve in Action Comics.
Meh. I don't find this team or book to be too interesting. With villains posing as heroes it is, as many, many have said, very reminicent of Thunderbolts and thats a book I was never esteemed about. The fact that this team is making there way across numerous Marvel title including Thor, NA, and possibly other titles I worry that story quality in Mavrel may dip for a while, and that while may mean several months or years.
I can't stand that Mike Deodata, he was the artist on that despicable Sins Past storyline on Amazing spiderman (i haven't read an issue of spiderman since then)
My Uncle David is not what you would consider a smart person but he can rebuild a boat engine over night without ever having any prior experience.

The symbiote can shapeshift. I think the whole "pill" thing, was just something Bendis wrote to try and be clever.
