most xp, vista and windows 7 have remote desktop connection and this is free and yes both have to have RDP

@neelmistry911 for consoles xbox has windows media centre and ur computer should also have window media centre theres a tutorial on youtube im sure on how to connect them.. iphones/androids etc u can download from RDP applications (remote desktop) and they will connect ur computers remote desktop program via wifi.. my advice is to look up tutorials on remote desktop etc its too long to explain. iv learnt all this through videos on youtube

@hookedonwar no you do it on the computer that you are controlling then you can access it via web browser but on the ipod/iphone you can buy a program called log me in ignition to your computer for free and then buy ignition from app store for $30 i hope that helps.
