yeah he sounds so calm coz its not headed in his path so he has scored there. but i think that the residents will be so used to it by now the have a "wipe ya arse and get on with it" kind of attitude. tahts is the best way to be.
until April 27, 2011, March 13, 1990 was the last we had multiple F5 tornadoes on the same day, here we have the Hesston tornado, the other hit Goessel, KS
I would love to see a tornado but not one that lays out a massive destruction. Probably would be scared for my life but at the same time, amazed. Mother nature can be a beauty while laying a massive path of destruction out. I really never want to go through what some of those have been through with a type of tornado like this going right above your head and ripping your house to shreds
It's been bothering me for months as to where in Hesston this was filmed, but I think I've finally found it! I believe this was shot on Cedar St., which runs west to east. The cameraman is looking northwest, as the tornado moves northeast.
All you guys that are making fun of this man....I guess you can't tell when you're in the presence of a FUCKKIN STUD....can you? Yeah....that's what I figured.
@minecraftmaster927 Well, I'm a Nebraska native, and have chased for 25 yrs. Folks in the "alley" DO get complacent about tornado watches. Remember, a "watch" is different than a tornado "warning". A warning means one has actually been sighted...either by sight or on radar. The ones that have actually been affected by tornadoes take the warnings seriously. The ones that don't are the ones that act like they don't care. They say "we have watches all the time, and nothing ever happens". then..BAM!
@ProfessorIgor But that's only if it tears through buildings and property. What if it's path goes trhough a field or damages trees and other natural terrain? It could still be a very powerful tornado.
@JewelEGirl since the dopplar radar was founded the fujita scale has bee sort-of redefined in terms of the velocity of the winds, inside the tornado, measured at heights of around 10 stories.
@JewelEGirl They actually have a damage indicator on the Enhanced Fujita Scale for different types of trees. As well, it should be noted that the Fujita scale itself has evolved, and now covers multiple aspects of construction, property, and wind measurement, There are around 26 damage indicators now, up from the single family home model Fujita devised and implemented
@xellosalina1 no, they do not.... again, the wind speed is determined by careful examination of the damage that was caused. It is still, even to this day, almost impossible to measure the tornado's wind speed at the ground. PLEASE go research the Fujita scale and how they implement it.
This is the first time I've seen an alternate video of the Hesston tornado; I must say it's at a much closer range than that of the more familiar video. Thanks for sharing.
By the way, did you make it through this storm OK?
If I saw that I wouldn't be just standing there...maybe he was in shock!
