Wasn't it due to a game that Brandon ran away? So why are his parents creating a "Family Sport and Game Center" What would Brandon think about this?!?!?!?!
How do you dare to first drive your son out of your home because of your lack of involvement in his life or interests. Then you blame an industry that had no responsibility to raise your child. Finally you complain when your child values a video-game more than the relationship with his parents.
1st of all Brandon could not have bought the game, his parents had to buy it for him, as he was too young to buy it himself! (a safe guard that was ignored by his parents and set up by the very industry they're blaming)Same goes for the Xbox live account he was playing on! Never mind who bought him his television or Xbox!
2nd his parents only started to complaining when Brandon's school work suffered! Not because he was spending all his free time playing a game!
@1020Shane So let's review: Brandon wanted a M rated game. M as in mature audiences or people over the age of 17, Brandon was 14 and his parents decided to IGNORE the safeguard set up by the gaming industry they're now blaming! Furthermore if they really wanted to limit Brandon's time playing this game all it would have taken is a simple Google search and they would have found out that the Xbox has parental controls built in to limit the amount someone can play, or which games they can play!
@1020Shane So yes it really was the game-industry fault, not the fact that Brandon's parents decided to buy him a M rated game, sat him in front of the television and went off to do whatever they wanted not giving a second tough towards Brandon!
I'm sorry you feel you need to defend his parents, just think about the real victim here Brandon! You know the 14 year old who died because his parents careless, neglectful actions who also couldn't be bothered to spend any time with him.

Remember Remember the Crisp of November
When Brandon walked out the door.
His mother said no
So he decided to go
To hell, where he can play Call of Duty 4.
