  • im terrible at the one and a half and my coach wants me to do it in pike i can get the single easy but im terrble at the one and half

  • Im still on reverse dive, my coach is teaching me back 1 1/2 first but im really scared to do this dive, he really helps me, but mostly with my stretching (:

  • I'm watching these things to teach myself to swim

  • anybody who doesnt have a trainer or some diver training, this is a really difficult dive. If you were to try this without training, it could take years to even get the guts to do this dive. Hell i believe two gainers would be easier in my opinion. I just learned a reverse one and a half with a half twist today (doesn't look clean but its landed). And this is a lot harder

  • i kind of disagree i never really spot on dives like these its more muscle memory

  • it was good....not really good...like 5 1/2, 6

  • 0:54 weird sound

  • @KaguyaIllusion

    ueeyee

  • @KaguyaIllusion i got it to say the time, after i rewinded a few times hahaha

  • u cute!

  • parker, fact is, reverses are scary as fuck before you learn them. however, once you throw it correctly, they turn out to be really easy and you will think to yourself wow that was easy. this advice seems very obvious but u just gota throw it knowing you wont hit the board. most likely u wont come close to hitting it on ur first reverses.

  • @sk8dude648 So true, I wasn't a fan of trying them at first. But when I realized how high I could launch them 1 1/2 is my favorite and most fun dive I do.

  • @sk8dude648 well said

  • Parker I am an experienced diver and when you do the reverse just look forward and when you are at the peak of your dive tuck and then streach down for the water on the reverse dummy just do the se but don't come out til you are fully rotated how this helped you

  • hey everybody, my name is parker, i am a first season diver at PHS, and 2 meets in i qualified for states, first diver for a long time, problem is i cant go unless i get a reverse dive and reverse summersault(sorry on spelling)

i have practiced for 5 hrs and still cannot do it, can anybody help me out?

    tips? or videos to watch?

    thanks

  • @dizzy. I was just talking from personal experience. Maybe what I think hipping in is different from what you think it is. All i know is when I'm being hippy(by that i mean I have this extreme arch from the hips) on reverses i go to the middle of the pool, if I do it on backs i hit the board. Personal experience lol.

  • if you hip on a reverse, you just go really far out. If you hip on a back, it brings you toward the board.

  • @imcnair13 actually that's incorrect. If you hip a reverse dive then you will bring yourself closer to the board. You need to really hollow out and tighten your abs as well as reach slightly infront of you when you do this dive. If you are flimsy in the core then you will hip the dive and put yourself over the board.

  • if you are not experienced DON'T try this! seriously do it forwards< then there is less chance of hitting the board! if you want to learn it get a proper coach! hell i have bee diving for 6 years and can only just do it :)

  • what happens if you use your hips too much? 0:19 "Hippin the dive"?

  • if you hip a dive, the rotation actually throws you towards the board... and hitting the board can be lethal, depending on where hit.

  • you will be close or even hit the board!!

  • you cut off your height and if you "hip it" far too much you'll be in danger of hitting the board, however hitting is unlikely anyway.

  • you hit the board

  • i changed it but i always have a fear of hitting my head from the come out because i broke my arm one year from the same dive but whats weird is that on my 301b im perfectly allined and tight, do you think this is mental or something else?

  • i do the same dam thing and yet i wnd up going left and 1 foot way from the board how do i fix it, i got holow jump my arms are up i pop my hips out and up my arm swing is out and up and yet i still end up almost killing my self... can u help?

  • yes, the trick is to take youre time in the takeoff, dont jump, just quickly stiffen youre legs and try going a little to the right, and keep trying, you should get it in a week or two!

  • Not sure if you fixed this yet or not but a big problem a lot of people have is keeping their stomach tight on the tack-off, not just your abs but the sides of your stomach too. People will sorta lean to the side and it'll throw off the whole dive. Either this or you could be dropping your shoulder on the takeoff which will make it go off to the side.

  • lol dose he expect people who have never dived to kno what they are doing lol it wasnt just ooh yea tuck ur knees up and jump lol its a bit harder then that lol i have been divin for 3 years and only can really do it

  • Well there are a few exercise videos to this dive.

Just tipe in springboarddiving and reverse

  • These videos aren't exactly for new divers. =P

The target audience are divers with experience looking to hone their skills.

  • that was good props to the dude in the speedo

  • haha what, no they werent

  • yeah just a bit on the entry

  • Feet were a little sloppy

  • wut r u talking about? they werent at all
